If you haven't heard yet I had emergency surgery on Monday night. My appendix was inflamed, infected and waiting to rupture. Luckily I have a loving wife that suggested that I go to the doctor and get the pains on my right side checked out. Our doctor was surprised that I was not doubled over due to the pain. The surgery lasted about an hour or so and went fine. The surgeon said that my appendix was so infected it was covered in puss and was really swollen (I know sounds disgusting). I was in the hospital for less than 24 hours and have been home since yesterday. I hate the feeling of being helpless. They say I can't really do much other than lay in bed and wait for things to heal. If any of you ever have to have this surgery I feel for you. I now have a new sensitivity to my wife's three c-sections.

That sucks!! We are glad to hear that you are doing well and that the surgery went well also. We miss you guys and hope you have a speedy recovery. We love you.
Feel better, Ben! Abdominal surgery is the WORST. Don't push it, the more you move, the longer it'll take to heal. But you already knew that.
:)
Glad to know things went well. Will keep you in my prayers-healing can often be harder than getting stuff fixed.
Ben, I tried to even call you yesterday at the hospital. I AM SO GLAD that you are at home recovering. I love you so much and I wish that I could have talked with you and Kira more when we were there a week or so ago. Take it easy and if you want to talk you can call me :) Or IM me :) Have a happy Halloween, and let me know what the kids are dressing up as tomorrow.
im so sorry ben! have a speedy recovery and if i can do anything just call me! i will be more than willing too!!^_^
Hope you're feeling better. I had my gall bladder removed in a similar surgery 11 years ago. The hardest part was that I am a stomach sleeper. It took 7-10 days before I could sleep comfortably.
That sounds like a very uncomfortable way to gain empathy for your wife! I am really glad that they got it out before it ruptured. Take care and get better carefully :)
