Time Out Challenge #282

Ready for another challenge from Time Out?  Here it is.

That wonderful bag was created by Kim Heggins and she is offering it as a prize to the winner of the challenge.  All you have to do is make a card inspired by the bag.

I started by heat embossing through a snowflake stencil from Lawn Fawn onto black cardstock.  Next up are the mittens from EbyE embossed with a knit folder to add a red touch.  Last is a sentiment from MFT.

For more inspiration, please check out what our marvelous Design Team has to show you on the blog.

Time Out Challenge #281 - Pick Two

We have a brand new challenge for you at Time Out.  It's a pick two, which means you should pick at least two of the words in the label below and make a card featuring them.

I had made a card for Valentine's Day before I even looked at the challenge and by golly it fit!  Serendipity at its best in my eyes.

This card was inspired by one I saw on Pinterest. The hearts from SSS's Roses for You were stamped on DSP and fussy cut.  To fit them all on I had to make a mini-slimline card, although I guess I could have overlapped them.  I tried stamping lines but when that didn't work I got out my machine and dark grey thread.  That's where serendipity takes place since stitch is one of the words.  The sentiment is from PB.  So there you go.  My words are Heart, Stitch, and Love.

Now it's your turn.  The Design Team and our guest designer Marcia Hill may have chosen different words so we invite you to take a look at what they've done and get inspired to make a card.  Our sponsor is Newton's Nook and they are awarding our winner a $25 gift to their store.

Time Out #280 - Inspired By

It's the Inspired By challenge at Time Out and this is your inspiration:

Your favorite thing to do in January.  Now that's a hard one.  I mean I like to do a lot of things but do I have any stamps or dies that will tell that story?  I ended up going back to the good old younger days for my idea.

My husband and I used to go cross country skiing so I pulled out an old set from PTI, made some skis and planted them in a snow drift made with a fabric embossing folder and a SSS die.  The background is Softly Falling from SU and the sentiment is from the PTI set.

I hope you have a favorite thing to do that you can share with us on a card.  For inspiration, please check out the Design Team's cards.

Time Out #279

It's time for the first challenge of 2025 for Time Out and it's an appropriate theme challenge.

There are many ways to go with this but it took me a while to come up with something. . . .

. . . until I saw my daughter's Amaryllis start to bloom.   I made a card using the Honey Bee Amaryllis for another challenge and decided to use it here too.  I cut four of the bud dies, coloring two of them red to peek through.  The background was cut with the Honey Bee Deckle Edge and embossed with their Burlap folder.  The big question was "What will the sentiment be?"  I found this one in Penny Black's Snippets and thought it would be perfect as today is the day the Amaryllis will actually be in full bloom.

The Design Team has some wonderful cards to inspire you to join our challenge.  I hope to see yours in our gallery.

Time Out #278

Happy Holidays!  That's the theme for this challenge at Time Out.

For my card I used what I made with the very first outing of my BetterPress machine using Spellbinders Christmas Greetings.

The design was pressed into cotton paper with BetterPress ink and then colored with Distress Inks. The sentiment is included in the set.  I've learned a lot about the system since this inaugural card but I'm still still happy with how it turned out.

Gina K is the sponsor for this challenge and will be awarding our winner a $25 store credit.  Please check out what the Design Team and our guests have made to inspire you to include a card in our challenge.

Time Out #277 - Inspired by Words

It's time for another Time Out Challenge and this time you are to be inspired by words.  "There truly is not an occasion that is not improved by wearing something festive. " Emma Straub

I think we all enjoy putting on a little bling now and then, or maybe even an ugly sweater.  Whatever you like, transfer that into a card for the challenge.  For inspiration, check out the Design Team.

How festive is this little lady with her ornament decorated antlers and glittery sweater?!  I knew right away she would be the star of my card.  I colored her with Altenew artist markers, adding Glossy Accents to the ornaments and Sparkling Snow heat embossing on the collar and cuffs.  The sentiment is from C9.

Top Flight Stamps is our sponsor and the winner of the challenge will get a $25 credit to their store.

We'd love to see your card in our gallery.

Edited to Add:  I just saw The Paper Players challenge and this card fits there perfectly.

Time Out #276

Can you believe it's November already?  Today is the day for a new challenge at Time Out and the word of the day is COZY.

I don't have much in the way of stamps that I thought said 'cozy' but I always think of quilts that way so that's what I made -  paper quilts.

The die is from MFT and I used scraps and sheets from several paper packs, attaching them to lightweight cardstock with Altenew double sided adhesive sheets.  Before adding it to the card base I ran it through with the Starburst debossing plate from Altenew.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts.

Dies like this means there are always leftovers so I made a second card.

The quilting on this one is an embossing folder from WeRMemory Keepers.

Newton's Nook is the sponsor for this challenge and will award our winner a $25 store credit. For design inspiration check out what the Design Team and our guests have made.  We hope to see your card in our gallery.

Time Out #275 - Theme Challenge

Do you like to bake?  Here's your chance to show off your skills on paper with the challenge at Time Out

Our sponsor this fortnight is Lawn Fawn who will be awarding our winner a $25 store credit.  The Design Team has lots of inspiration for you over on the blog.  Here's mine.

The little girl is from MFT  and is colored with Altenew artist markers.  I cut the panel with a scalloped die also MFT and a larger one from some paper that matched the frosting.  I thought it needed something else so I embossed the background with Cross My Heart from Spellbinders.

I hope we see your sweet treats in our gallery.

Time Out #274 - Photo Inspiration

We have a fun photo for you today at the Time Out Challenge.

A lot of people will probably go with the coffee theme but since I'm not a coffee drinker I went with the sign board instead.

The sentiment is an ancient one from My Craft Spot (out of business), stamped in white on black and framed with a die from Waffle Flower.  The background is patterned paper.  EZPZ

The Design Team has some great cards to inspire you so check them out and then make a card for our gallery.  The winner will receive $25 store credit from our sponsor Newton's Nook.

Time Out #273 - Inspired by Words

It's time for another challenge at Time Out and this one is so appropriate for this time of year in the US.  It's our Inspired by Words challenge.

I love the colors of autumn and went with that for my card, and didn't use any leaves at all. ;)

The bouquet of 'weeds' is from Honey Bee's Lovely Layers Autumn Bouquet,  cut from white cardstock and colored with Distress Inks.  They are arranged in their Rattan Basket that was cut from Desert Storm and gently inked around the edges.  The background is some of Altenew's Yogurt cardstock embossed with their Woven Basket folder.  I love all the color and texture.

Now it's your turn.  How do those words speak to you?  You can use any or all of them to inspire your card.  Take a peek at what the Design Team has done.  The winner of the challenge will receive a $20 store credit from our sponsor Poppy Stamps.

Time Out #272 - Snarky

It's time for another Time Out challenge and this time we are to be Snarky.

Snarky is not my thing at all but I did find something I thought was cute.

The lures are from Honey Bee and the net embossing folder is from Spellbinders.  The sentiment is also from Honey Bee's Hooked on You set.

Funky Fossil is our sponsor and they have a $25 store credit for the winner of the challenge so we hope you make a card for our gallery.

Time Out #271 -

It's our theme challenge at Time Out and we'd like to see cards that offer friendship, encouragement and/or support.

The Rustic Floral stencil from PinkFresh Studio was colored with Altenew inks.  The panel was cut with Spellbinders Notched Corner Frames and added to a yellow card base.  The sentiment is from CASual Fridays (nlib).

Our sponsor for this challenge is Uniko and they are offering a $25 store credit to our winner.   I hope we will see your card in our gallery.

Time Out #270 - Photo Challenge

What a delicious photo we have for you at Time Out for this next challenge.

You may remember my card from the last challenge.  Strawberries.  Ring a bell?  Well I have another fruit for you today.

Look at my lovely basket of blackberries.  The stamp is from PTI.  For the basket I cut the Honey Bee picnic basket and embossed it with Wicker Texture from Altenew, inking one side to give a little more definition and dimension.  I found some ancient PTI polka dot paper that was the same color as the leaves and added it as a border.

Graciellie Designs is out sponsor and will award the challenge winner a $25 store credit.  Some see what fruit the Design Team has chosen.  I hope they inspire you to make a card for the challenge.

Time Out #269 - Inspired By Words

It's August already and Time Out has an appropriate Inspired by Words challenge.

I went an unexpected way with my card for this challenge.

One of the things I love about summer is strawberry shortcake.  Not that you can't get strawberries year round but they seem better in the summer somehow, especially when they are locally grown.  The berries are from Honey Bee and are growing in a barrel from TH that was covered with Mica Spray.  The background is a PFS coverplate that was foiled with pewter.  Yes it is true you can foil with a coverplate.

This challenge is sponsored by Varada Sharma who is awarding our winner a $25 store credit.

There is plenty of inspiration from the Design Team and our guests so be sure to check out their cards on the blog.

Time Out #268 and Inkspirational #320

This time at Time Out we challenge you to be

This conjures up all sorts of images for me but since I'm retired and live by a lake in the summer, I'm always on vacation.  But I don't have this scene.

Beautiful sunsets shining through the palm trees.  The panel was colored with Distress Inks and cut with Honey Bee's Deckle Edge.  The palm silhouettes are from MFT and the sentiment is from STAMPlorations.

Our sponsor is Varada Sharma - giving our winner a $25 store credit.

The Design Team is dreaming of vacations and making cards to show off those dreams.  Check them out for inspiration and make a card for the gallery.  You may have a chance to be a guest designer.

Edited to add:  Thanks to Nonni, I'm sending my card to Inkspirational where they want you to feature products from two or more stamps companies.  I used three - Honey Bee, MFT and STAMPlorations.

Time Out #267 - Theme Challenge

It's time for our next challenge at Time Out and this is a theme challenge.

We are being sponsored by Picket Fence Studio who will award a $25 store credit to our winner so get making those cards.

The stars are from Pinkfresh Studio foiled in gold, cut out and arranged on navy cardstock.  The sentiment is from MFT and embossed with Gold Sparkle powder.

Here's a close up so you can see the shine and sparkle better.

The Design Team has been seeing stars and have plenty to inspire you.  We'd love to see your card in our gallery.
