Tick Tock

It's time once again for sweet Vee's once-a-month Note Card Party.  This is a fun meme where you select four pictures, previously posted, that you think would make nice note cards.

I like to keep to a theme for my cards, although Vee says that isn't necessary. She doesn't have a lot of rules.

This month I've chosen a CLOCK theme.

Like some of you, I have a several old clocks that you have to wind.  But I don't.  Which can be very confusing when you have to be somewhere.

This is an empty tall clock case that I added a clock face to.
You can read all about it at
The Case of the Tall Clock
I liked this picture so much I added it to my sidebar >>>

and this is a broken but charming alarm clock that sits in an old buffet.
Poor thing doesn't have a story (that I can remember).

and these two are cropped closeups
 from the wall clock above.

The 11th Hour

Cherub Pendulum

They were used in one of my very favorites posts
 based on Ecc. 3:1-8
"to everything there is a season"

Although it was written two years ago,
it seems all the more appropriate today.

We have so much to be grateful for this holiday season
and I do not take it for granted.
Abundant Blessings to you and yours.

The Case of the Tall Clock

My husband recently asked me to clean my junque out of the garage.

He's SO funny!
However, in the spirit of cooperation, I decided to bring a piece of furniture   from the garage into the house.

That counts, right?

I had an empty corner that was begging for something
tall and skinny.  (Ha! I used to be tall and skinny)

So my sister and I lugged in a tall clock case
and set 'er down in the corner.

Perfect!

 This was a display piece
I had in my store for many years.
There were no clock works
so I added a battery-operated clock face.

We're off to a good start.

Then, of course, I had to fill the empty space next to it.

So I pulled in an orphan chair

added a tray for a plant

found a big ol' pot and added one of my obsession plants
(sansevieria)

and walaa!  mission accomplished.

But I couldn't leave it alone, so I added a picture.
(I can't help myself)

Then I moved the chairs back in place.

Problem is, there's so much stuff in the garage
it didn't make a dent.

And now there's just more stuff in the house /~"

Nevertheless, I'm

Hello Again

Fall has arrived ~ at least on the calendar.

For us in coastal Southern California it means crisp mornings, cutting back the rose bushes, light sweaters, and tennis shoes instead of flip-flops (maybe).

For me, it means
reluctantly closing the kitchen windows ,
endeavoring to keep the cookie jar full,
and (oh boy) the return of my Life Group on Monday night.

It's been a few weeks since the ladies have met.
We'll catch up with each other,
listen to music and teachings,
encourage each other, cry, pray and laugh together.

So!  It's time to fluff the pillows...

throw a log on the fire...

wind the clock...

Put the kettle on...

strike up the band...

and turn on the porch lights

WELCOME back my friends.  I couldn't do life without you!

What Time Is It?

In California, like many states,
Daylight Savings Time
comes to an end this weekend.
It got me thinking about the time and season
we're living in right now.
It could be frightening,
except that we have Jesus.
He has encouraged us to not be afraid,
because He is with us always.

Eccesiastes 3:1-8
To everything there is a season,
and a time to every purpose
under heaven

A time to be born

and a time to die

a time to plant,
and a time to pluck up that which is planted

A time to kill, and a time to heal

A time to break down and a time to build up

A time to weep, and a time to laugh

a time to mourn and a time to dance

A time to cast away stones,
and a time to gather stones together

a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing

A time to get, and a time to lose

A time to keep, and a time to cast away

A time to rend, and a time to sew

A time to keep silence and a time to speak

A time to love, and a time to hate

a time of war and a time of peace.

Blessings to you,
Susy
