1986 De Rosa SLX Retrobuild

It is a 1986 De Rosa Professional that I have owned since 1990. It had a mix of Dura Ace (for shifting) and second generation C Record. I raced and rode her for 25 years with that configuration. In February of 2015, I decided to rebuild her with all first generation C Record except the brakes. I've had the Delta brakes since 1990 and I was not going to replace them. I love them.

The indoor photo is how it was before the rebuild.

When I found this De Rosa bike it was being ridden as a fixed. I bout only the frame and a plan to build it up with old parts I had lying around unused with no real expectations. The original front fork needs to be re chromed and it is in progress. In the mean time I ride with a carbon fork. The bike is so nice to ride! I am truly happy every ride. I have several other bikes but I can’t stop talking about this De Rosa slx. But on this page I think people will understand me …
