today i woke up with these 2 lines in my mind. i'm pretty sure God spoke them to me and woke me up.

"You are no longer Qian Jin. Now, you're Nathaniel."

Revelations 2:17
He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, I will give some of the hidden manna. I will also give him a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to him who receives it.

what's the significance of having a name from God?

God is proud of you and proclaims that you're His creation.
God knows you by NAME. not just a speck in the human population.
God sees who you can be even though you're not there yet. He believes in you.

You have a pact with God.

thanks Dad for the life ahead.

For You are great.
You do mighty wonders Lord.
There is no one else like You.
There is no one else like You.

I was talking to dengs 2 days back about kites. I shared with him what i learnt while i was flying a kite and talking to God.

we're all like kites. God's the string which holds us and He's the wind which helps us fly.

at times, we are wayward, we choose our own ways and end up getting stuck in trees.
at times, we are rebellious, we pull hard in our own direction and this ends up in the string snapping.

but.

if you flow along with God, God can help you soar. the tension of the string is actually used to angle the kite so that it gets into the path of the wind. which is the represented by God as well. Together, with the tension of the string and the strength of the wind, the kite can soar.

all in all. the kite has one sole purpose in the sky. not to be pretty, high up in the sky, but to reveal the unseen. to let people know the presence of the wind under its wings, the string the keeps it flying. to reveal God.
