how do i honor my parents?

today during worship, God told me that when i study, i'm really just doing it to get good grades and prove that i can be smart. seriously, that hit me like a rock in the face. on my lips i'm saying, i wanna get a scholarship so that it acts as a benchmark to testify about God. the fact is, i have mixed motives and i probably want it more than i want to honor God with it. God, i wanna drop the scholarship talk. let me do every assignment with You. let me do every exam with You. let me do every presentation with You. let me do every aspect of school life with You. To acknowledge You in everything i do. Lord all the praise goes out to You.

God is so awesome and great.

He stopped the rain at 6.30
He kept the whole night cool and comfortable
He even planned our event to coincide with fireworks festival. we really really PRAISED GOD.

all in all. jump changed at least one life.

i'm sure mine has been changed. i saw how God moved in a mere 6 hours. how He crafted everything from months of practices and made something beautiful despite the circumstances, despite things looking really bad in human perspectives.

after all, He's God. i'm not xD

convocation 2008.

basically. my university life starts on monday. and my first class is a math class. heh. God, lets do this together.

today i went running! ran for like 78 minutes. i think the pace was quite fast too. basically i covered cck to gombak to hillview to upper bukit timah to cck and back home. i think i did 18 km! amazingly, i ran all the way. it felt great to get past all the huffing and puffing to just run. now i know why people can get addicted to running.

anyway, here's 2 great take homes from listening to mercy me while i was running.

my singers celebrated my birthday for me today!

i think its cool because though everyone is busy, people still came down and just stand around and eat ice cream. after reading all the cards you guys have wrote, I AM SO ENCOURAGED. in FOP, the pastor shared this line that hit me.

"Encouragement is oxygen for the soul"

it hit me once again. the lives i am shaping, am changing are not just distant lives out there in the crowd, in the congregation. we spur each other on, we help each other grow.

am encouraged to run for another year. thanks for all the cards, thanks for all the love my singers. i dun think i'm the best leader there is out there. thank you all for your patience, thank you all for your teachability. though at times i'm abit cranky, thank you for always looking up to me. i'm not very equipped myself, but thank you for allowing me to speak into your lives. am blessed to have such a team. as for my inabilities, as shirls shared in clm. "if you don't have it, go get it."
i will grow to help you guys growing!
