BGC#53 - Stamping (On fabric) and misting with PJ

Hello my dear friends !
I just got back from my 3 week vacation and i'm feeling refreshed !
Meanwhile the girls here at BGC were busy creating some really good projects for you
according to the challenge theme thats been running all JUNE !

So now u know the rules but let me just repeat theme again

challenge guidelines:

Challenge duration- 1st june to 30th june (Full Month)

  • Make any project that fits into the categories below

1. Cards ONLY

2. Layouts ONLY

3. Everything else - 3D crafts, Popup boxes , Altered art , mixed media , Canvas , Hangings etc. Anything paper crafts.

  • You must have visible Misting on the face of your project - Any kind of misting will do for example - Using mists like Lindy's stamp gang or color bloom by prima etc,  Making a splatter with a paint brush , Using a tooth brush with water colors to create a nice misting on your project.
  • Your project must show Stamping on Fabric !  Its time to pick and experiment with any type of fabric and see how your stamps work on them. !
Simple enough !

Please note that we reserve rights to disqualify any entry that doesn't follow the rules .
Thank you

Ok with all that understood ! Lets move on to my project.
I went for 3. Everything else category
And altered a medicine box.

This is how the box looked before.

And this is how it turned out !

  •  I started by pasting some text scripted paper on the sides of the box.

Which you can see perfectly in the above picture.
  • I then made a mixture of 1 part white glue with 1/2 part water and mixed it well .
  • I used this mixture for sticking tissue on the top of my box. This gave me some real good texture to play with.
  • After all the tissue sticking i let it dry for about 2hrs .
  • Once dry i misted my textured surface with mists . (Lindy's stamp gang and cosmic shimmer.) That gave me my background to work on.

  •  I then used this nice and slightly shimmery fabric piece in rectangle to stamp my sentiment. Here is a TIP- when working with loosely woven fabrics like what i used ,keep a crisp piece of paper underneath before you stamp. This should give you a good image.
  • The fabric piece looks a little lifted due to the texture beneath it. It is stuck in place with Glue dots as foam dots would have showed from underneath.

  •  I then embellished my box with flowers , die cuts , distressed mesh cloth ,and some metal embellishments.

Here is a closer look at the flowers !
I made all of them myself except the peach and the baby pink rose .

Hope that you enjoyed my post and you are inspired to join us in this challenge .
If so then just pick a category and jump in !!

BGC#52 - Bingo with PJ

Hello my friends !
Its me PJ , Back on the blog with another project to share !
This fortnight we are playing with the Bingo Grid made by our lovely designer Aneta
So sharing the bingo rules once again with you :

1. Decide when to start. You should choose the line up, down, left, right, diagonally.
2. Complete your supplies and start! Create LO, card or 3D project.
3. Enter your project until the 30th of the May.

And this is our bingo grid:

So i decided to make something other than cards and LO's
I really needed a Pin cushion on my table for tucking all the pins in place .
so i totally made a Spool pin cushion
The Pin cushion is hand stitched .I added some sponge inside for creating it.
And covered it on the sides with a crocheted lace.

I used the 2nd row on the bingo grid -
Layers - I did the layering on the top under the cushion with PP's and some more layering with the embellishments on the spool.

Ribbon - I used a ribbon bow on the top

Buttons - I used some colorful buttons

.

and finally last item on my row was
Butterfly  - I used one in the centre.

This is a fairly simple challenge :) You can make any project you like with the elements on the grid .
Just follow a LINE or a ROW !
Its fun to see what you all have created so far .
Hoping to see more of your creations.
Enter your creations HERE

thank you !

and One
cherish-vintage-clear-stamps-4x275

For this challenge I decided to make an explosion box with butterflies flying out when you lift the lid. I attached the butterflies with acetate.

The box is made from a cut file and is covered with patterned papers. The green background on each panel is made with stamping, inking and heat embossing to give it a garden look.
The butterflies have been glued to acetate which is then inserted through slits on the base of the box.

Below is the closed box waiting to be opened.

Here is another pic with two panels down.

I have chosen the colors green, red and pink from the picture and my ‘one element’ from the garden is ofcourse butterflies :)

I hope you like my project so do join the Fun :)

BGC#48 - A Shabby chic Altered cake tin !

Hello everyone !!!
Its PJ again !
Hope u are enjoying our super amazing theme this fortnight,

The sponsors this time are -

Do check out all the awesome products they have over at their store

Now here is my take on the challenge.
I wanted to play with my cake baking tin ! so i went ahead and added about 2 layers of ready mix white paint . I wanted it to look crackled and shabby with the Matt effect hence i didn't bother about the neatness while painting my coats.
I cut out a circle with cardstock for the inside.
I then used some texture paste through a diecut negative i had . (check out the texture paste in tiny dots all over the place but mainly under the feathers.)

After that i went ahead and stamped a text script stamp randomly .
Over which i layered all my embellies !
Really love how it turned out !
I really enjoy doing shabby chic and this project its perfect fit with the theme.
Here is how the tin was before the transformation
And after !!
Hope you enjoyed my creation ! :)
Do link up your projects asap !
I know the theme will test your imagination but,
we would love to see how we managed to inspire you !
