It's been too long!

I'm so sad that I've abandoned this blog. I decided from now on that I don't have to have perfect pictures or an amazingly clever idea to post here. I'm going to try to blog about something everyday. Whatever it may be. I'm sure nobody reads this anymore anyway! LOL

Today we went to Twig's to share the news with Jim and Robyn. It was fun!

Here is an update on Isabella:

- Almost 3 years old
- More beautiful and cute than ever
- Calls me MAMA. Love it!
- Loves:
going to the park (swings only!)
music (Jason Mraz "I won't give up" and Bedrick Smetana's "The Moldau" are the favorites right now)
musical instruments
mac & cheese
the Pet Zoo (Northwest Seed and Pet)
pillow fights and "festinha" with daddy
Apple Juice
fruit
sunglasses
Little Einsteins
colored pencils (she "writes" rather than draws. She makes little squiggly lines and tells stories!)
music class (Kindermusik with Ms Lisa)
playing in her turtle sandbox
bubble baths
books (Oh my, oh my oh dinosaurs / Baby Bear, Baby Bear what do you see and triceratops for lunch are some of the favorite ones right now)
talking to vovo and vovo on Skype
singing all the time
-Can:
count, spell some words, "read" many words, say a LOT of dinosaurs names, musical instrument names, say musical notes, recognize which note we're playing in the piano (!), memorize books, go pee pee and poopoo in the potty most of the time
- Hits kids in nursery and has a hard time with strangers. Doesn't like compliments and especially the word YAY. Is strong-willed and stubborn.

Is loved by so many people!

I hope to be back here tomorrow!

Bedroom decor inspiration

I can't' think about re-decorating our master bedroom. I've been looking online for a while for some color inspiration and for some designs that would work with our bedroom layout and wall color. And then. I saw this beautiful bedroom! If you know me at all, you know I LOVE navy. Pairing with with white and just a hint of yellow? GENIUS! Now the quest for doing this on a budget starts. Oh, and the quest to getting my husband to care about it too. We shall see! Wish me luck!

My St Patrick's Day Decor

Ben and I got each other a new TV stand for our anniversary and Valentine's Day. I love it! Such a small change makes such a huge difference in our living room. One of the perks of buying this particular one was that I finally got a shelf to display some holiday decor and making some"vignettes" as people call them on Pinterest.

I was very excited to plan (and shop for!) my first vignette. It so happens to be a St Patrick's Day one.

Here is how it turned out:

Here is the info about the things I used for this vignette:

Galss candle holders, candles, acrylic see through frames, foam shamrocks (for garland) and mini wreath (underneath green vase) - Dollar Tree

Large frame, metal candle holder, flowers, little glass vases, mini green photo frame - Michaels

Ceramic shamrock - Hobby Lobby

Felt shamrocks (garland) and Welcome Friends Wooden sign - Joann Fabrics

Small lucky printable -http://sprik.blogspot.com/2011/02/just-because-29.html
Large subway art- http://eighteen25.blogspot.com/2011/02/subway-art-lucky.html
Kiss me I'm Irish printable -http://baileydoehler.blogspot.com/2010/02/kiss-me-im-irish.html

You can also see my board on Pinterest if you want more ideas!

I'd love to see your holiday vignettes!

San Francisco 2011

We had to go to San Francisco last October to get Isabella's Brazilian birth certificate at the Brazilian Consulate. I know. Bring out the violins, but we really were not planning on going and spending that much money on something that could easily be done by mail. Oh well. Since we had to go anyway, we took full advantage of the trip and had a lot of baby sans baby!

Alcatraz is creepy!

Very creepy!

We had a blast and Isabella is now, officially, a dual citizen!
