Frances is our daughter. Using her smartphone she has taken some wonderful pictures of our baby granddaughter, Phoebe. To be honest, her pictures put my own efforts to shame. Perhaps I should invest in a smartphone myself - just for the camera. Hopefully, I could disable all the other features. It's just the camera I want.
Phoebe was seven months old on Sunday and to celebrate this on her Instagram page, Frances published a bunch of pictures of the precious babe. I have picked just three of those photos to share with you. Can you see her teeth in the image below? She now has two of them. Teeth can be pretty useful when you're learning to eat. And when you are a messy eater it's good to be naked. You can always have a bath afterwards.
The picture below was taken in our dining room on Sunday afternoon. Phoebe was not supposed to be eating the card that marks her first seven months. It was supposed to be propped up next to her as in previous months. Little rascal!
I have to love a kid who eats their age card!
ReplyDeleteThe photo of Phoebe on the bed? is just stunning
You are so kind. Thank you Kylie.
DeletePhoebe looks well nourished and the baby fat will disappear when she begins walking. Lol at disabling smart phone features. Good luck with that. But seriously, if you ever think of buying a new point and shoot camera, a phone is a good alternative.
ReplyDeleteWe are hoping to sign an advertising contract with Michelin tyres.
DeleteUseful advice about messy eating problems. It takes great imagination to write as if drawn from personal experience.
ReplyDeleteYou and your missus should try it when eating spaghetti.
DeleteLook at those toes on the last picture!
ReplyDeleteYes, eating naked saves on washing and ironing.
I wonder when that started, giving babies a card for each new month. I only get cards once a year for my birthday.
You will have to have word with OK about that! Could start a new trend.
DeleteShe really is the most gorgeous baby. It's difficult to choose which photo is best - she's such a photogenic baby. The card probably adds a little textured variation to her diet and it's fun for her to finally be able to get her teeth into something new!
ReplyDeleteI look forward to the videos posted when she's learning to walk and then takes her first unaided steps. You can't miss that YP, so we'll have to rely on Frances catching it with her smart phone.
I will try to share those future images with her Auntie Carol.
DeleteI hope that you will save those photos and display them prominently at her wedding.
ReplyDeleteI suspect I will be dead then JayCee - never to see that joyful day.
DeleteThe perfect post to follow your last.
ReplyDeleteMy father would look at children and say, *It is their world.*
Children were at the heart of his hope for a better society.
He was baffled by Lady Thatcher's view that there was no such things as society.
My father liked the line in Satchmo's song, It's A Wonderful World.
*They'll learn much more than I'll ever know.*
What will Phoebe learn? What will be her favourite subjects at school?
But that is all in the future.
Enjoy Phoebe's growing up years, as my mother would say.
Every day is precious.

A lovely comment John. Thank you. No such thing as society? I wish there had been no such thing as Thatcher.
DeleteI just love these pictures. Phoebe looks like so much fun and the naked eating is brilliant!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you know what you are talking about when it comes to naked eating Terry!
DeletePhoebe is adorable.
ReplyDeleteWe have been blessed.
DeleteI just had to buy a new phone and the camera on it is amazing. Phoebe is soooo cute!
ReplyDeleteHas yours got three lenses Pixie Lily?
DeleteIt does actually. It's an excellent camera. A samsung.
DeleteAdorable! Camera phones ARE amazingly good, considering their size.
ReplyDeleteStewart's has got three lenses that work together to produce amazing images - so sharp and so forgiving too.
DeleteShe has beautiful eyes and a joie de vivre that shines through. She looks like a baby model in that first shot. My iPhone 12 pro has an incredible camera--great for landscape shots but often used to capture pictures of my grandson.
ReplyDeleteShame that you do not display some of those pictures on "Teacher Woman" which seems to have been "on ice" for quite a while now Margaret!
DeleteTeacher Woman isn't my real blog. It was linked to a group teacher blog on blogger. I didn't want my district to find my actual site, but in order to comment on blogger posts, I had to make up a fake blog. I'm really at http://teacherwoman.typepad.com. There are occasionally photos of my grandson, Niko although my daughter and son-in-law don't want a large internet presence for him. :)
DeleteWell, at least it seems a birthday card is something you can eat with your clothes on... Hope it was tasty! :)
ReplyDeleteEdible birthday cards, now there's an idea! They could be made from rice paper.
Deletethe first photo is a keeper. Well done Frances.
ReplyDeleteThanks Uncle Keith.
DeleteWhat a sweetie! Those eyes are just amazing. Your daughter does indeed take excellent photos.
ReplyDeleteAnd she takes excellent care of the wee princess.
DeleteShe's a doll!
ReplyDeletea cryin', talkin'
DeleteSleepin', walkin', livin' doll
...but not the talkin' or the walkin'.
DeleteShe is absolutely a beautiful baby.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the confirmation.
DeleteShe is truly a beautiful baby!!! The fact that she is very loved and treasured shines through…lucky little child!!! Mary in Colorado
ReplyDeleteKind words. Thank you Mary.
DeleteBeautiful photos of your darling Phoebe. She has such lovely eyes, so trusting. Do you print out the photos that you or Frances take or are they all stored electronically, like mine have been since I got my phone in 2015?
ReplyDeleteI am going to update my phone for the better camera function but also so that I can scan the QR code for Covid tracking rather than keeping a written diary.
My daughter gave me a lovely book of prints last week. They follow the first four months of Charlotte Grace's life. It's entitled A New Little Star Has Entered The World. She's certainly the star of mine.
Best birthday present I could have wished for. It's such a magic moment when she recognises her Granny and rewards me with a beaming smile or startles herself with her squeals.
Adele
We are both discovering a new world courtesy of our granddaughters.

DeleteMaybe you could learn this song to amuse Phoebe.
I watched it all the way through. The artwork was mesmerising.
DeleteThey are adorable photos- she looks so cute and cheeky. I resisted a smartphone for years and used to get irritated that people were on their phones all the time. Now I have one, I find it so useful and I'm constantly on mine. I bet when you get one you'll be the same, hard as it is to believe now
ReplyDeleteThat is just one of the reasons why I have never had a mobile phone. My wife, Shirley, is always on hers. Can you remember when Kay was that cute?
DeleteWhat a pretty baby! She'll be having her first birthday in no time.
ReplyDeleteThere are no brakes as we race through time.
DeleteOh, Phoebe, you are so darling. Learning to do all those new things. Tell your mom, Phoebe, that Great Aunt Donna just loves seeing that bottle filled with water. Some mom and grandmother you have there to know how important that is. Ta, ta!
ReplyDeleteShe is so beautiful.
ReplyDeletePhoebe makes the sky brighten!
