December and Christmas

I totally thought about breaking this into two posts, but it never happened. So buckle up! This is a long one!

Early in the month, we decided on a whim to go ride the North Pole Express up in Heber.  We thought that would be a good family Christmas adventure.  We really enjoyed it. There was a lot of fun things, like games and sing alongs. We saw Santa, and Elvis. We got our tickets punched, and had cocoa and cookies. Alana was a good sport and danced with the elves.  (Naomi was too much of a teenager to dance.) All around it was fun!

Alana decided she wanted to make some cupcakes. She really enjoyed adding the sprinkles on top!

Alana had her Christmas program at school. She is the adorable one in the cream dress in the front row. She did a great job.

We saw some awesome sunrises and sunsets this month. The girls insisted that each one get texted to Nonnie because Nonnie loves them so much!

For Naomi's last Activity Days activity, they had a Mother/Daughter Paint Night. It was fun to watch the YouTube video and try to follow along with all the girls and moms. They turned out pretty cute!

I have really enjoyed being president of my local quilt guild chapter. This month we had our annual Christmas Dinner and a tea towel exchange. It was so fun to see what everyone created!

Santa came to the ward Christmas Breakfast. Naomi and her friend Ellie had loads of fun asking Santa for a Furry Baby (Big Hero 6 Movie reference.) Alana asked for a horse.

Will participated again in the Prelude to Christmas concert. It was fun to see people there from our old Stake.

Naomi had her school choir concert.  She was on the other side of the auditorium from us. But I could still hear her!

This month was really tiring!

We went to lots of parties. There was the Knight family party.

Grandpa Dave's and Grandma Jamie's party.

Nonnie and Poppa's party. (It was at our house this year.)

There was a few other parties I didn't get any pictures of. There is the Grandma K and Grandpa Bill Christmas Brunch and their grandkid sleep over.
There is the Grandma Verna and Grandpa Bob party and the New Years Sleepover.
Finally there was the annual movie marathon with Will's family. This year we watched all the Jason Bourne movies.

My girls are so cute!

Here is the note the girls left for Santa...

and his reply.

Our stockings were all stuffed Christmas morning.

The girls loved sleeping in the guest room and running up the stairs when it was time to see if Santa came.

They loved their presents!

Will and I dived right in to assembling our park bench and piano!

My piano was the best surprise. Will and I worked super hard to make it a surprise. It worked!

I spent some of the Christmas break to put together a puzzle Lisa gave me.

It was a lovely first Christmas in our home.
It's our little piece of heaven.
