I was running with the double jogger, and Oliver would ask me to stop and let him run every couple of feet.
You probably notice that Savannah was not there. She's had a couple of illnesses recently and didn't feel up to the race. She was really sad since she had practiced with the club as well. Maybe next year. I was feeling pretty fast because I was the first parent to finish, then I realized that most of the other parents were running with their kids, keeping them motivated to finish. I couldn't even begin to keep up with Emmaline! I have been able to run twice a week with the Running Club, though, and haven't had any foot problems, so I'm feeling like someday I might be able to race again as well.

That all sounds like so much fun. I wish I could have been there...
How far did they (you) run? Good for Emmaline. If you were the first parent and you had to stop and let Ollie on and off, don't you think it balanced out with the parents that were encouraging, maybe? Sounds like you did well. Glad you had no pain, perhaps taking care of that foot is going to pay off after all. ;0)
Too bad we don't live closer--I am thinking about running in a 13K next fall (yes, it will take me that long to get into shape for it!) and I could use the motivation! Maybe you could send Emmaline down a few times a week?
Great that you started running again! Remember the 10% rule (Don't increase your mileage more than 10% a week).

The kids ran 2 miles. People walking (or running on the sidewalk with strollers) ran a little less since the trail winds around more.
Can I have some of Emmaline's motivation please!?!?
Congratulations Emmaline!
