I LOVE Babies!

If you are looking for the Shaping Up Blog Hop and Giveaway, click here.

Runway Inspired Challenge has 2 DT members, Sarah and Cristina, who just had babies. I love babies. Got some myself. You know these things come in three's, don't you RIC?

Here is the inspirational photos. Darling babies...never could make these babies, just not in my gene pool. I make tan babies, hehe...

For Cristina's Boy...
I don't have any plaid stamps, so I opted to do the black stripes instead.

And for Sarah's Girl:

Her textured cardigan parts in the middle and the cream dress inspired the card. I put the sentiment on the inside that says "it's a girl" because I couldn't figure out where to stick it on the front.

May they both enjoy this special time with their precious peanuts!

If you would like to see a cute card video by my daughter Sophia, see the previous post. She would love feedback. I think she did a great job!

Young Crafters Unite: Sewing and Stitching

Young Crafters Unite has a challenge to make a project using stitching. I made this scrapbook page a while ago and thought I would use it as an inspiration for a card.

The weird thing is that I love "random cluster" (that's what I call it) on my scrapbook pages and I think I do that fine, but darn if I can't figure it out in a card.So my card is a bit simpler.

Supplies: stamps Hero Arts, Stampin Up, Stella and Rose Girly Stamp set. (the pretties doilies EVER), stampin Up heart punch

I know what you are thinking if you have been viewing my cards. There is no theme, no specific style. Well let me tell you, my wise friend Angela said to me one day, "DON'T BOX YOURSELF INTO ONE CATAGORY, BECAUSE YOU MAY FIND YOU MIGHT CHANGE YOUR MIND." I am glad she did. I like so many styles, as I do music, and art, and clothes, it is hard to stay in one specific style. Plus, I work in Family Practice where you have to know a little about every disease, so that's how I work. At least you will be surprised by every post ;)

And one day, maybe my friend and silent follower, Angela will leave a comment...just sayin'

Ok, well that's all I got for today, till next time

ColourQ #129

Good morning!

You know, I really need to work on the colourQ challenges earlier in the week. I always seem to get inspired on Saturday nights or Sunday mornings and cut the deadline so close! I just want the card to be QUEEN worthy ;)

For the challenge I wanted to include flowers because of the inspiration photo, but not just any flower. A special technique and using my favorite flower set: 5th Avenue Floral from Stampin' Up. I tried watercolor but didn't like the results. Might try it again because I don't have the right supplies for that trick. So, in browsing the internet for ideas, I found this website showing how to color on velum.

I could not photograph this card to capture it's real beauty. I hope that you can see the velum with the transparency, the embossed background and well...the hard work!

And the yummie color palate from ColourQ:

Moxi Fab Tuesday Trigger: Simple Elegance

Time to take a crack at some Moxi Fab-u-lousness with a super cool color palate in a home my kids would never be allowed in!

My card took inspiration from the colors, the textures, and the crisp feel of the room (sounds a bit BEACHORADO doesn't it?). I wish I had an urn stamp but the best I could do was a bird cage! PS. The photo looks better when you click on it :)

Supplies: embossing folder is candy cane from Sizzix, the stamp is Stampin Up

ADDICTED

Hi.

My name is Wida and I am ADDICTED to card challenges.

Is it normal to start a blog and then want to win every challenge out there and become totally consumed with entering all of them, some of them multiple times??

Ok, don't tell me if it's not.

I am hoping this pendulum will swing back to center soon!

Here we go again, the photos on Runway Inspired Challenge and CAS-ual Fridays just get my mind going with card creations!

Supplies: stamp Hero Arts, PTI. Stampin Up Heart punch

And the inspirational line up...

Till next time I hope,

PDCC119

Sometimes it just plain hurts when I have a stamp set and I don't use it right away. It's like you are waiting for just the right moment to break it out. A moment when you know it will shine. This is the moment for one such stamp set:

please pardon the surroundings, it was late and the staging was not as important as the light! (and I still couldn't get the pink to photograph just right. It looks neon/saturated in the pic)

Here is a pic of the card in natural light...had to fix it. It's one of those things that was going to keep bugging me!

This card uses the HAPPY TOGETHER stamp set from Stampin Up! Aren't the birdies so adorable?

The photo used to inspire my card is from the Play Date Cafe:

I really enjoy the pictures the experts use to get me motivated to create! I used my beloved bakers twine in honor of their wonderful sponsor THE TWINERY. I adore my bakers twine!

See you LATER!

Yep, that's right

I really need to stop looking at Laura Bassen's blog because I keep finding both beautiful cards and also challenges that seem too good to pass up! If you want to see a professional in action, check out her blog here.

Laura has got me on a magic "card-pet" ride with a new card challenge site found here.

Another card challenge, yep, that's right!

Here is the inspiration photo by Virginia from Lily pad Cards:

Moxi Fab Challenge: Map to your heart

I saw this challenge and let it simmer a while. Different card designs floated in my head. Some were too complex, others too simple. Then a card design came to me that felt just right. I finally sat down and made it. I think I am quite pleased with myself...hope you are too.

First: you can find more about the challenge here. I subscribe to Papercrafts magazine which is dedicated to handmade card creations. Their blog is called Moxi Fab World. The ideas and photos that are very inspiring. The map challenge seemed interesting, so here is my take on it.

(please pardon the little feet in the corner of the photo, it's my daughter L.o.V.E)

Supplies: heart die Stampin Up! sentiment stamp Unity, patterned paper Boarding Pass by October Afternoon , twine Walmart

Don't you love it when a good sentiment brings it all together? :)

Berry Berry Mediocre

I bought the most delicious strawberries the other day...and I ate them, then I found these little berries in my stash and felt inspired...and full :)!

Some days you feel like you rocked it as a mom, wife, worker, and cardmaker, and somedays, not so much. This is one of those cards that had a lot of potential and then fell flat at the end. Maybe it is the color combo or the speckled chocolate sprinkles on the kraft cardstock, but the berry is not as a standout as it was when I bought the package of them. I might try again with a brighter color scheme. Anyhoo, I'm still posting it because I made it with love.

Also some of you wanted to know who won the card competitions. You can find one here:

and here:

Supplies: Jolee's berry, seam binding, sentiment and speckles is from Stampin Up! and Martha Stewart punch

Moxi Fab Challenge: Using Punches

Today I am entering another challenge by Moxi Fab World.

Here is the link if you want to check it out.

http://www.moxiefabworld.com/2012/01/cool-tools-week-punches-challenge.html

Sadly, I didn't win my other challenge contests, but the competition is stiff out there in card making land.  I am not one to mope too long about a loss, so here we go!  :)

I used the windows punch by Stampin Up! to create a contemporary card. Pretty Easy I must say! The trick is to get papers that coordinate.

Stamping this little beauty made me realize I need to get some more stamp pads, the bottom of the happy birthday was not as crisp as I like, but I didn't want to risk having a blurred sentiment by trying to stamp over it. Sometimes, you just have to let it go!

Supplies: Word windows punch by Stampin Up! and stamp Hero Arts.

Thanks for visiting and if you want to say something nice, leave a comment, cause a girl could use a kind word about her cards, especially after a loss...hint hint.

Tuesday Trigger: By the Numbers Challenge Submission #2

Here is my second card for the challenge...
Here is the inspiration photo by Moxi Fab World

The stitching was very interesting to me, but I have trouble keeping my stitches perfect, like Lucy Abrams, so I decided to approach it a bit differently, using mat pack and paper piercing tool by Stampin' Up!
