Hope House Home for Boys

The cards that I sell here in Chapala and Ajijic, Mexico benefit the dental program for the boys at Hope House in the nearby village of Ixlahuacan. There are close to 30 boys at the home and many of them come to the home having received no dental treatment. If you live here at Lakeside and would like to order a quality, hand crafted card for a special occasion and help me contribute to this worthy cause, please e-mail me at bettyinchapala@yahoo.com Card price is 50 pesos; the entire sales price is donated to Hope House.

A CASEd Card and a Link

I was visiting blogs yesterday morning when a card by LeAnne Pugliese at Wee Inklings stopped me in my tracks! She actually posted two gorgeous cards (go on, click on the link; you've got to see them!) but the one that caught my eye was the embossed white one. I had to stop right away and make my own version of her stunning card. My image was already stamped (flower from Stampin' Up; sentiment from Gina K. Designs) so all I had to do was add the sentiment, the shiny flower center, and mats. Embossed my white panel, cut into thirds, adhered it all together and I was done!

I'll be entering this card into the challenge at Fab N Funky -- Emboss It!

Next, I'd like to share a link to an article that I wrote for an on-line magazine called ChapalaClub.com. Sid Grovsener is a retired Dallas, Texas police officer who has lived in Chapala for many years and enjoys sharing his love of this fantastic place with others. My article is about one of our favorite restaurants and I hope you'll enjoy it; if any of my sweet friends ever decide to visit my area, we'll air out the spare bedroom and take you to Rey Taco first thing!!

Adios for now,
