It'sss... Show Time!

Get ready to view the star studded players and runway beauties that flanked the mats at the Markham Dog Show. First up, strutting her stuff on the runway is a very dear to my heart, Lil Miss Molly! 

I am just starting to learn about gaiting vs pacing and for me, learning about movement and structure makes watching the dogs more interesting and a challenge to peg the winner.

Sometimes a pup has to work it to shine. Hey Mom,  stacking might be a breeze, if we loose these knots!

Others have a unmistakable, bigger than life presence all on their own.

Oh :P MOM!! I just wanna have fun!  Conformation Ring Patterns are for nerds.

Would I shock you if I told you prior to Cavaliers I owned a Doberman? Mine was not much bigger than Kodee and shy. Nothing like the tall, graceful confident ones I viewed today.

Okay... someone appears a little under dressed for the occasion!

Here is the deal. You have a mammoth treat ready on the exit and I leave the mat clean.

VaVaVoom!! Try as I might, I just can't get a coat to look as perfect as this!

Sometimes it's nice to have someone to lean on.

But the best part, is getting back home to the important stuff - the lov'in.

Dog Show Fever!

 Oh yes, it's SHOW TIME! Lucky for me there are two dog shows in the next few weeks! This past weekend I attended the Ontario Breeders Association's "All Breeds Championship Dog Show in Markham and it was loads of fun. I took Becky to get a bit of socialization in for her but really I was there to cheer on Becky's sister, Molly and other Cavaliers! I love dog shows for a variety of reasons.

Woofstock 2010!

Last weekend the weather almost threatened to ruin our annual trip to the St. Lawrence Market in downtown Toronto! The rain gods blessed us and held off (on Sunday anyways - sorry to any suckers that went on Saturday :P ). Thank goodness as June 12 and 13, 2010 marked Woofstock Toronto! We left Kodee and Becky at home as it was a long drive, loads of dogs and selfishly I had shopping on my mind!

I travelled to the Purina Nationals at the International Centre in Mississauga, Ontario.  I was so thrilled to have under one roof Conformation, Canine Free Style Dance, Obedience, Rally and YES, SHOPPING! End that day with a great buffet style dinner with friends at Tuckers Market Place It just doesn't get much more perfect!

Splash! Jump! Catch! Dog Days of Scogog

Big dogs, little dogs, loud dogs, wet dogs; all of them gathered at the Scugog Shores Museum in Port Perry July 18 and 19 to celebrate the bond between man and his dog! It was the 7th Annual Dog Days of Scugog. Shannon Kelly the Museum's curator describes the event as an amateur dog enthusiast's event with fun and games for both owners and their dogs.

Cavalier Fanciers Southern Ontario Specialty Show

Close your eyes and picture a hundred or so Cavalier King Charles Spaniels in the pouring rain all morning. Now don't open your eyes, breath deep. Smell it? Ya YUCK! Words escape me!

Last Sunday, June 28th we went to the Cavalier Fanciers of Southern Ontario, Specialty Show - IN THE POURING RAIN, EEK! OK, honestly, it really was a fun day visiting friends and watching magnificient Cavaliers move in the show ring.

Woofstock 2009 Toronto

Woofstock 2009 has been and gone for another year! Best part of the day had to be the pooches frolicking in the fountain! Must confess, I also enjoyed scoping out some new doggy gear. My only complaint? The icecream truck line up!
