Books are a fitting prop for today because it marks the 200th Birthday of the Grimm Brothers Fairy Tales. In celebration, a new English version was written and just released by Philip Pullman (author of the Golden Compass).

Becky's Reaction Due To Recent Onslaught of Elf On a Shelf Photographs. 
Long ago, bells were worn and hung on doors during the winter months in the hope the noisemakers would ward off evil spirits that were believed to appear during the dark winter months. Becky has reservations about all the creepy little elves popping up everywhere! Just to be safe, she decided wearing a bell [a rather large bell] might not be a bad idea this holiday season.

I saw a tutorial at "I Heart Faces" on how to create a "Star Burst" effect with Christmas lights. However, I needed to make adjustments to their steps if I wanted to include a live, moving object - a.k.a. Becky, in my version.

Christmas Dog

Tonight's my first night as a watchdog,

And here it is Christmas Eve.

The children are sleeping all cozy upstairs,

While I'm guardin' the stockin's and tree.

What's that now---footsteps on the rooftop?

Could it be a cat or a mouse?

Who's this down the chimney?

A thief with a beard--- And a big sack for robbin' the house?

 I'm barkin', I'm growlin', I'm bitin' his butt.

He howls and jumps back in his sleigh.

I scare his strange horses, they leap in the air.

I've frightened the whole bunch away.

 Now the house is all peaceful and quiet again.

The stockin's are safe as can be.

Won't the kiddies be glad when they wake up tomorrow

And see how I've guarded the tree.

Oh Dear Santa will you ever forgive me? Madness just swept down and took control of me.

The Background Story

I had just finished a game of fetch with my person and had hunkered down for a good snuggle. Suddenly I became overwhelmed with the acute desire to give your nose just a small nibble. I truly mean this Santa; I meant you no harm.

Have I been banished to the "Naughty List" forever! I just know Kodee is never going to let me forget the day I ripped off Santa Claus's nose.

Christmas Advent Calendar

Happy 6th Birthday Miss Kodee!

A rather perfect photo for today seeing it is Miss Kodee's 6th Birthday! We are so very happy she rules our house and hearts (although Lady in Waiting, Miz Becky does challenge that at times).

Oh My! The gals had a little Boudoir Furtography session going on at Beyond the Dog Dish this week - run over for a peek and give them a tail wag.
