Tilt 'n Shift

And, shot from the hip ... mine of course.

Untitled

I liked everything about her, especially the way she moved,

So confident.

Anyway, the photo sort of reminds me of a great street photographer, Juan Colom, who shot many of his photos from a low angle and to the side of his hip.

He captured Barcelona's nightlife during the reign of Spain's dictator, Franco.

Blahssez faire

He's cool, sophisticated, carefree and

 DSC_1355-2nd orig sht brnd-3-WEB

blah, blah, blah,

I'll let him be,

Blahssez faire.

He seems to me.

Hey! I don't pretend to be Ogden Nash nor a powerhouse writer.

But, I think I'll give myself a "C" grade for rhyming and,

For you, an "A+" for not minding.

The Camera Never Lies

Slips in photos like typos in writing are springboards to magical impressions.

So it was with this photo.

The Camera Never Lies

Before my very eyes, the human seemed to slowly emerge out of the wall, unto the sidewalk, as if in a dream ...

Was it?

The camera never lies!

A Real Winner

She struggled to climb, fell several times and eventually reached the top.

A Real Winner

She might be the girl in the middle but she was tops in my book.

Lip Service

World! This is Safia, my grand-daughter, at exactly 3 months.

Yes, I know what you're thinking! I am tooo young to have children of children.

Lip Serice

Anyway, I want to think that she was looking at me with keen interest but I fear she was giving me the slip of her tongue.

Ah ... they start so early, don't they?

Aside Note: I have a great tip for you that I've learned the past many months since I've been back to the USA. If you want to improve your street photography, just photograph children.

They are quick, suffer from attention deficit disorder and unpredictable.

Your shoots will dramatically improve.

Would You? Could You?

The photo is not exceptional in "street photography" terms but she caught my attention because she first reminded me of Bridget Bardot (remember her) and she had those voluminous lips.

Would You? Could You?

Would You? Could You?

I remember thinking, if she was born with them, G-d bless her. If she had them treated, give me the name of her doctor.

But! I will never (I shouldn't ever say never, right?) get my labios treated.

More often than not, I've seen such horrific results from collagen therapy.

Geez! Just, look at some of the movie stars with their lips flapping in the wind.

And they can afford the best!

Anyway, her posture, look and dress stood out and I liked it.

Do YOU?

Warm encounters over a cold drink

Somewhere on a corner in the barrio San Gervasi and carrer Balmes, is a cozy, corner café.

The café is very small where the stools hug the bar and there’s just enough room for only YOU to pass by.

I shot this photo at night, without thought and very fast before anyone could ask me what and why I was taking pictures. You can see a customer’s bewilderment.

The quality of the photo is not very good but I like its lighting, the small space and how cozy and inviting the café appears to look.

It seems to me that the customers have no choice but to be close, sociable and, Oh NO, meet new friends.

Enjoy!!
