here

what happens to soap in the end? it never suddenly disappears, no matter how much you subtract from it; always remains what it was in the beginning: a slippery character.

the soap, pared down to its final form, shaped by human hands into its elongated form of longing; the water that fish like so much, cascading down like a rainbow; the mirror a place for recollection and gatherings, where one is two; the spotted, tarnished mirrors of our lives, dimly aware of our thinner faces, as if in a dream. the heart, like a mirror, can be polished, the sufis say. the coldness around our warm bodies; the coldness of our northern-starred hearts, the spangled stars free, beyond the frontiers, the spaces of distinction; the words you never said. here, then, for the stars in your eyes.

'Here
is the world
of all things'

of absences, too. into the moon, then. who lives in the moon but a clown?
the logic of the world was against you, friend. your heart skipped a beat, your mind failed to read the plot and you missed your train. better to be late in this world, Ubo said. re-trace your steps, finally. how did you get here again?

words clipped, speech faltering. say what needs to be said, for Christ's sake. speak, a word in your dark- timbre way, the word full of shadows, the word that randomly falls my way, or that precedes the directionless morning light, true or false, spoken in your sleep, in haste,in the heat of the moment, in jest.

i give you my word. don't build anything around it, and don't use a dictionary or a square mirror to plumb it. it falls, it falls, just like a fish, the water,a dream, a heart, a rainbow, the moon, your hands, your steps.

here.

Well, B, call it crazy- I certainly, do!- but I had a feeling you were up to something consequential today. And, you know, whenever I have one of those, they tend to be right. So, I didn't check back here until later, after I got the crawfish boil done; I guess I couldn't quite tell if you were going to spook or stun.

{And could I claim [a bracket (here)], now?} A couple commas?

B, am sort of speechless on this one, and speech impediment or not, I'm not found in this situation a lot. Now, B, remember how we, the self-evident truths nation, always recall: If it sounds too good to be true, well, it probably is too good to be true. You know, this one truly does sound too good. Sort of real, too. Maybe true just doesn't apply?

B, please, do advise, just prompt a word that fits in here. All I could think of was: OK! So, I must confess: treasurable stuff!

PS...Have a sunny weekend, son! :)

spook or stun? makes it sound like trick or treat!

i love this phrase, 'too good to be true'. perhaps truth isn't what we're after..as long as something *sounds* true..isn't that good enough?

No, can't think of any more words. no word fits in or around here. Just here, as it is, this moment..and then it's gone.

so, where were we..a sharp knife. yes? good. now, the tricky bit. Ingredients?!

"i love this phrase, 'too good to be true'."
B, you're getting more and more American by the day. it's as we aim: "One Paki a day" , if elephants in power; or "One Paki at a time" if the donkey rules. :)

As for the substance of your comment, how should I put it, boy, oh boy, you're soooooooo relative...well, I should actually say you are such a relativist, but sounds like "activist" and there's something always frightening about that sound & substance.

Ingredients:Here's a concept for you: incremental disclosure...Have patience with the gals, son! I promise you, those you give you the recipe, are not all that worthy. :) (Sorry couldn't let you go without more maternal wisdom & tales from the kitchen).

You know, B, had you been lesser in this post, i'd have ranted some on your soap bit. Sooooo tempting, truly! But, again,...you sounded too good & too real, too.

hello, A (really must think up a better name for you! this sounds, i dunno, so impersonal)

no, feel free to rant all you want.

relative. me? hmm. going to have to write a whole new post just to set the record straight here.:-)

don't care about being worthy..just need the bleedin' recipe! :-))[tone is everything in that last comment, btw)

Maybe, i should, B. But, then, why really change it?

Found the word that fits though: RIGHT!

Sunny weekend!
