Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing. Matthew 24:46
What if Jesus visited you Monday at 3:30?
What would He find you doing?
Would you be hard at work doing your job to the best of your ability? Would you be lifting up someone with a word of prayer or encouragement or carrying part of his or her load?
Would you be doing an act of kindness for someone without expecting anything in return? I'm sure that with a little warning each of us could be found faithful.
However, Matthew told us Jesus would return at an hour we don't know (Matthew 24:42).
The saying, Live as though today were your last, can be rephrased: Live as though Jesus will return today.
When his master returns, a servant is declared ready because he has made provision by doing what the master expected.
As a result, he is considered faithful and wise. (Matthew24:45)
God and the world are looking at our lives.
What do they see?
Lord, I pray that I will be doing what I should be doing and that You will find me faithful........
An elderly gentleman had serious hearing problems for a number of years. He went to the doctor and the doctor was able to have him fitted for a set of hearing aids that allowed the gentleman to hear 100% The elderly gentleman went back in a month to the doctor and the doctor said, 'Your hearing is perfect. Your family must be really pleased that you can hear again.' The gentleman replied, 'Oh, I haven't told my family yet. I just sit around and listen to the conversations. I've changed my will three times!'
Two elderly gentlemen from a retirement center were sitting on a bench under a tree when one turns to the other and says: 'Slim, I'm 83 years old now and I'm just full of aches and pains. I know you're about my age. How do you feel?' Slim says, 'I feel just like a newborn baby.' 'Really!? Like a newborn baby!?' 'Yep. No hair, no teeth, and I think I just wet my pants.'
An elderly couple had dinner at another couple's house, and after eating, the wives left the table and went into the kitchen. The two gentlemen were talking, and one said, 'Last night we went out to a new restaurant and it was really great. I would recommend it very highly.' The other man said, 'What is the name of the restaurant?' The first man thought and thought and finally said, 'What is the name of that flower you give to someone you love? You know... The one that's red and has thorns.' 'Do you mean a rose?' 'Yes, that's the one,' replied the man. He then turned towards the kitchen and yelled, 'Rose, what's the name of that restaurant we went to last night?"
Feeling A Little Low
Why art thou cast down,O my soul? And why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him,who is the health of my countenance, and my God. Psalm 42:11
A man was demonstrating his amazing skill with the yo-yo. With deft movements, he manipulated the string and made the toy continue its rapid spinning while he guided it through a number of loops and positions. It bounced along the ground, and then, with a flick of the man's wrist, it soared high into the air.
Human emotions are much like a yo-yo. They can go from the ground to the sky, from depression and sadness to joy and delight. We have no idea what caused the psalmist's battle with depression, and his yo-yoing between despair and hope. At one point he wrung his hands and wept in despair. Then he remembered God's lovingkindness, sat himself down, and gave himself a good talking to. Like the soaring yo-yo, he emerged again with praises to his God. Is your life like a yo-yo today? Hand God the string, and see what can happen!
Prayer for today: Forgive me, Lord, for trying to control my life through difficult times. My hope must ever be in You.

Have A Wonderful Day!
Psalms 34:1 I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
There once was a woman who woke up one morning, looked in the mirror, and saw that she had only three hairs on her head. "Great," she said, "I think I’ll braid my hair today. "So she did, and had a wonderful day. The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and saw that she had only two hairs on her head. "Hmm," she said, "I guess I’ll part my hair down the middle. "So she did, and had a wonderful day. The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and saw that she had only one hair left on her head. "Wow," she said, "today I get to wear my hair in a pony tail." So she did, and had a wonderful, wonderful day. The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and saw that there wasn’t a single hair on her head. "Thank God!" she exclaimed. "I was running out of things to do with my hair!"
ATTITUDE is everything! Let’s be grateful for the things God has given us and have a wonderful day!
Right Words at the Right Time
Words do not come with sizes and are certainly not one size fits all. So, how do we measure whether or not a word is fitting? We may discover if a word is fit for a situation by asking, "Is it true, does it help, and why do I feel the need to say this?" If the answers to these questions reveal malicious motives then the words do not fit. Words, however, that selflessly inspire or lovingly correct others because they are true and sincere, are words that are fitly spoken and more beautiful than gold. We should think about these principles as we choose our words today.
A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver. Proverbs 25:11

How to Pray When You Can't
from: Open Windows
We often feel the need to pack our prayers with words. But what of those times when "we know not what we should pray for"? In those quiet times the Spirit Himself groans for us. Could it be that you are now facing one of those seasons of silence before God? If so, remember as a child of God, that the Holy Spirit intercedes on your behalf. Perhaps you simply need to listen for a while and allow God to do the speaking in your prayers.
Likewise the Spirit also helpeth with our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groaning which cannot be uttered. Romans 8:26KJV
