It's a worm...it's a moth...

It's a hummingbird. I'm afraid there's a hummingbird trapped inside me. I wasn't sure before, something just felt a little squirmy and funny but now, now I know. It's a hummingbird. We thought it was a baby, how wrong we were. :-) All kidding aside, if you can't tell from my lame attempt at humor...I can feel lil' pud'! I started to feel a little something a few days ago, but today is by far the strongest movement I've felt. Yay! There really is a baby in there. It's still so hard to imagine.

We had a good weekend. Ira and I went shopping on Friday night and got me a few more maternity clothes. I'm only showing a little bit but I've grown out of most of my clothes. Our next challenge will be to find a reasonably priced dress for a formal wedding in two weeks. Ugh! Saturday morning Ira's parents and his brother and wife came up and the men went fishing on my parents' lake and the women made a comforter for the baby. It was a really nice time. Sunday, I had highlights and a haircut to do and Ira worked on refinishing and painting my (from when I was a child) old little table and chairs for the baby.

Please remember to vote in the baby poll if you haven't done so already! :-)

Happy Anniversary!

Today is lil' puddin's Mom and Dad's two year wedding anniversary! Married life is so wonderful! Especially when you pick the perfect man for you. :-) We don't have any big plans and won't be exchanging gifts, as we are trying to save as much as we can for all the things that lil' pud' will need. It is overwhelming how many things you need for a baby! We will probably go out to dinner somewhere special like The Melting Pot fondue restaurant or someplace else fun like that. We had fun this weekend....saw a movie ("Wedding Crashers") and went on a trip to the zoo. It was perfect weather for the zoo and all of the animals were out and active. I finally got to see the lions (my favorite) up close. Ira got to see a lot of the orangutans (his favorite) too.

I haven't felt the baby move yet. All of my books have such a wide range of time for which first movement can be felt. I am on the early end, but I am ready! I am really looking forward to that part. It will be a nice reassurance. To all my "mom" family and friends; What has been your experience for feeling movement for the first time?

So Happy Anniversary to my BEST friend and husband! I love you more than anything in the world sweetheart! I'm so happy that you asked me to marry you! :-)

Welcome to our blog for lil' puddin'!

Today we are 17 weeks (exactly four months in crazy pregnancy math; where the first two months are four weeks each, the next four months are five weeks each, and the last three months are each four weeks, or something weird like that!) into this adventure that was set into action little to our knowledge! It has been an overwhelming and exciting experience thus far. We had our four month check-up this week and everything is looking well. I also had a quad-screen blood test for birth defects, and everything came back negative, which is a great stress off our minds! I am feeling quite a bit better now, although I'm having my normal trouble with a little backache and heartburn thrown in for good measure! But, I will take that over constant nausea and dizziness any day! We'll have an ultrasound on October 12th and hopefully lil' pud' will let us in on the big secret of whether it's a boy or a girl!

(To those of you who don't know, lil' puddin' is the nickname for the baby, given by one of its' Aunts, but it will not be used after it's born! We're not fond of nicknames, as you may know, but lil' puddin' sounds a lot sweeter than calling the baby 'it' or 'he/she'!)
