The day finally arrived...The Big Boy Bed! In keeping with our promise, that Landon would get his new "BBB" when he was a "BB" and used the potty all of the time. Everyone knows that is the reward for using the potty all the time, right? Right. :-) Well three months later, we are a little late but here is his bed as promised.

We initially were going to purchase a twin size, but upon further thought we figured that with his height we'd probably have to buy a queen size for him eventually, so, might as well just buy one bed.

He was beyond thrilled with the entire process: The arrival of the bedding in the mail, "That's my big boy blanket! Look at all the letters! Whoa that's a lotta abc's!" The purchase of new pillows, "These are my two big boy pillows!" The mattress and spring, "Whoa, that's a REALLY, REALLY big one!" You get the idea...until...

Daddy got out the tools and started taking apart his crib. Then came the meltdown to beat all meltdowns. This new bed was NOT his bed, his crib was his bed, the new bed was "just cwazy," and he didn't want this big blanket or pillows, and no amount of explaining would make him feel better. Then through the hysterical sobs Mommy finally figured out that he was under the impression that his "white blanky" had to go in the garage with the crib. Once we got him reassured that his blanky is his, always and forever...

the joy for his "BBB" immediately returned!
