I'm excited to be featuring a giveaway from one of my favourite etsy sellers Angelene. I think I'm too embarrassed to admit how many pieces I have from her!

I've got very particular tastes (you could say I'm difficult, but I prefer to think of it as having a defined style), and I just love Ange's jewellery- particularly the elegant simple silver pieces. I don't know how I managed without the silver bow necklace she made for me, as well as this new favourite- I love it (and I'm not usually prone to enthusiasm):

5-Question Mini Interview with Angelene:

How and why did you start selling on etsy?
I started selling on etsy after a few years running jewellery parties as the main way of selling my work. The community feel of etsy, particularly the teams, make it more than just a selling experience.

How would describe the concept behind your store?
My store is a bit eclectic and doesn't really have a 'concept' as such - I make a range of things, depending on my mood, style influences of the moment, and aim to make something for everyone. I suppose the common theme of my store is elegance - I love organic shapes and sweeping lines.

Do you have a favourite item that you almost hope someone won't buy?
Nope... because I know I can recreate it for myself! At the moment my favourite things are Merry's Choice because I'm obsessed with Laurell K Hamilton's work and these Gaia 2 earrings.

What do you do when you're not etsying?
Lots! Working fulltime as a policy advisor to government, running a home spray tanning business, making jewellery, organising my engagement party, thinking about a wedding (I'm shopping for dresses this weekend! and trying to catch up with friends.

Exciting Week & Brand New Designs...

After launching my new scientific jewellery range late last month, I am happy to say that my rather risky venture appears to be succeeding (phew!).

This week I was lucky enough to be featured on two very popular blogs- one in Russian (!). I was very excited to discover a blog post about Morphologica on the Mind Hacks blog- a psychology and neuroscience blog. The featured piece was my Pyramidal Neuron necklace:

My New Etsy Store!!!!!!

I've finally opened my new store!!!! There are still more pieces to come, but I have some up for you to take a peek at.

This is the story behind the store (from my profile):

I am in the final stages of completing my PhD in neuroscience, and have created Morphologica to have a bit of fun with a normally serious subject.

During my research, I have discovered that science can be surprisingly beautiful- single cells viewed under a microscope, intricate networks of cells important for learning and memory, and even the curving structure of the brain itself. I have tried to capture some of this beauty in the Morphologica pieces, focusing on the shape or morphology of a variety of subjects studied in neuroscience.

I am still running my other store VintagePrincipessa, but creating pieces for Morphologica is really something that's more a reflection of my real interests....I have to confess that I'm not a big princess dress wearer ;) I am definitely a nerd though!

WishList Wednesday

My wish for today (and every other day actually) is to be a real person. One who can get up on time without turning off their alarm every 5 minutes for two hours (serious), one who doesn't pour hot water into the sugar jar instead of their tea cup, and one who doesn't look like a strange combination of zombie and person-who-has-suddenly-grown-taller-so-their-tops-don't-meet-their jeans (most uncomfortable in winter, I can assure you).

I have been collecting some yummy new things to start my transformation, including a very daring little black dress (whoever invented the name 'bodycon' dress should be slapped), some cute black heels & a brand new laptop bag from the lovely Bobishi on etsy so that I don't have to look like such a dork:



Now- I just need a few more things.... ;)
