Gratitude

This being the month of expressing gratitude, I would be very remiss if I did not express gratitude to my loving Heavenly Father for the blessings he constantly blesses my life.

During this hectic time last week I have had my annual medical check up with my Primary Care Physician.
I was then sent for my yearly mammogram.
I received a phone call the next evening telling me they found suspicious spots on the ex-rays and I needed to go to a specialty Breast Clinic in another hospital for more tests the next morning which was Friday.
Last year I had also had to have second tests and an ultra sound..
I thought maybe what they had seen before, had grown.

I was nervous.

I waited nervously in my gown after the last tests, as my life flashed before me. Three doctor and Hospital appointments in just a few days makes you feel very vulnerable.

I kept thinking I don’t have time for breast cancer, with the weddings, showers and Thanksgiving and then Christmas! But then, WHO DOES have time for a life threatening illness.... None of us is exempt!

Why would I be any more special than say, my brother in law who is my age with renal lung cancer, or my nephew who is fighting brain cancer right now. I prayed so hard the tests would be negative and clear.
My heart and prayers go out to ALL who are suffering...

When the Specialist and nurse finally burst through that little room I was waiting in, with huge smiles on their faces and happy news, I felt my prayers had been answered.

I felt on top of the world and a humongous burden was lifted.

Now I can handle all the busyness of the next couple months and with much gratitude in my heart.
I Love our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
This Thanksgiving will have so many special reasons to be grateful.

"Mammogram a few minutes for a lifetime!")
Ladies take care of your health!

Thanks for your comment on my blog about the joys of having sisters! When I read that your daughter is named Natalie it made me smile because I think there's a very good chance we will name this girl Natalie! I love the name! :)

Thank heavens you are alright. I was so nervous for you reading this! Doctor appointments make me nervous anyhow, so I can imagine the wait you were having to endure. I am so happy all is well!
.....NOW get those wedding plans finished so you can relax for the holidays! :)

Have a wonderful week,

I'm so glad about your test being ok. :)
The same thing happened to me last year. I had just gotten home from the test and had a messg on my answering machine, telling me they wanted me to come right back in. It turned out to be nothing, thank God. I'm so glad you can relax now. :)

Oh I am so glad you are okay. What a extremely scary time this must have been. I remember having to wait for tests on my son that we were afraid were going to come back with dreaded news....my stomach churned for days...It was horrible. I'm so glad the news what great news and you can go back to your VERY BUSY schedule!

I think that we all have that worry. That's why we avoid them. Glad it worked out. I got mine done last month. Thanks for sharing about your grandfather working on the Portland temple and his little treasure box and the Moroni. How special.

I'm so happy you were given the all clear. I had suspicious lump removed from my wrist years ago. It made us both really think about what we wanted from life. We ended up buying a farm and running it for a few years until my back was too bad. LOL I hope you get some time to think about how you can make your life even better and go for it.
Hugs in thankfulness.
