One Step Closer to Philly

I've started putting together my outfit in case I am able to pull off a trip back to Philadelphia in October for the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure event. If I can swing it, I'll be walking 60 miles in 3 days with Deb, Sara, and whoever else joins the team.

I'm going to do my best to be there as my way of celebrating my mom's 5 year survivor status. She has actually had breast cancer twice, and got within a month of being a 5 year survivor when they found the second cancer. It was a major bummer, but 5 years later she is free and clear!

Thanks Tiff for the sweatshirt (although my rack needs less supporting than yours these days;)

Oh, hooray. Hooray, hooray, hooray! I know how incredibly selfish it is for me to sit here and hope everyone flies to Pennsylvania (where I just happen to be), but man, I surely hope that's what happens.

Nice rack.

Also too, I'd like to take this opportunity to officially and publicly thank you for my Walmart Grand Opening Fabulous Gift! In my mind I've written an incredibly witty blog about it, several times, but every time I visit my page, I can't seem to find it. Sigh. I just haven't been very bloggy lately.

But. Each morning I crawl out of bed, I fill it* up with Diet Cherry Pepsi, sit it on my desk and yank yesterday's pony tail tighter as I pretend I work as an online greeter for Walmart Corporate. And it makes me happy. I seriously laughed out loud when I opened it. And you even bubble wrapped it!

* For those who didn't receive a Walmart Grand Opening Gift from several states away, "it" is a lovely Walmart blue water bottle, with the crisp, new white Walmart logo. AND it came stuffed with a sample of Colgate Total toothpaste, a Lysol sanitizing wipe, and a packet of Joint Health fuzzy drink mix. Does life get any better?

Thank you, dear friend.

SOOO, I was about to come on here and start talking some blog-shiz about who is actually cooler between you and me... but then you pull out the big guns with this cancer humanitarian extravaganza. Plus you look CUTE AS A BUTTON and all pocket-sized and everything. So you leave me no choice but to bow out gracefully. You are indeed (more than a SMIDGE, even) cooler than me.

Oh, and so happy and proud to know your sweet mama. I am continually inspired by all that she has overcome. With grace and beauty, I might add.

Good luck!!
