Let's Go Ghouls...

Happy Halloween!

Spooky season culminates with tonight's frightful festivities and I've got one last Halloween card to share. I got my hands on this new Moonlight Whispers Preparing the Broom for Halloween stamp last month and I've been saving her for the big day. The stamp itself comes as one large image but I cut it into two separate stamps so that I could overlap the broom a bit more and really having it flying towards this sassy witch. The Copic airbrush system helped me add to the magical glow in the scene and really play up the Halloween enchantment that I was going for.

Alrighty friends, have a safe, sweet and spooky Halloween!

Hey Boo...

Hey, hey!

We are just a day away from Halloween and I made some time to do a fun little mash up between a couple of stamp sets from Impronte d'Autore for this card. The witch is part of the Plate B sei capace di piu set, which is actually Wizard of Oz themed while the sweet little ghost is part of the more traditionally Halloween Little Monsters set. The interaction between them is just way too cute and tells such a fun story. I kept the background monochromatic and used both the glow of the moon and the glow from the ghostie to really spotlight these happy haunters. What mischief they will be up to, no one knows, but you can bet some Halloween tricks are sure to take place, LOL! :)

Stay crafty my friends!

Happy Halloween...

Hello friends!

The first Ohuhu coloring video series has wrapped up today over on the Sweet November Stamps YouTube channel. Over the past month I have been breaking down this spooky Halloween scene, featuring Madame Regina Ravenwood from the Haunted Manor Portraits digi collection, sharing various color combinations that I've put together using the Ohuhu markers. Now that all of the videos are out there, I can finally share the completed card here on the ol' blog. It's definitely been an interesting test of my coloring skills, working with a marker system that is so new to me. But I'm really enjoying the challenge so it looks like we will be starting up a new Ohuhu series next week. I did pull out my Copics to create the wallpaper behind the portrait because I wanted to use the Copic airbrush system for a nice, smooth finish, which I then stamped the pattern over. I really hope this is helpful to all of the Ohuhu colorists out there and that you enjoy watching the process come together. :)

Toodles!

Happy Halloween...

Hey friends!

I'm up on the Blogabella and we are in that Halloween home stretch so of course I've got one last spooktacular scene for this week's Scenic Saturday card. I've been having so much fun mixing and matching old and new stamps that I decided to do it once again. This time around I inked up Tiny Townie Piper at the Pumpkin Patch and paired her with a twist on the new Tales from the Haunted Mansion stamp for a Halloween card that is too sweet to be scary.

Piper and her pumpkins were stamped first and because I wanted them to have a more Halloween vibe rather than Fall, I grabbed a 0.1 black multiliner pen and drew in some simple faces, transforming the pumpkins into glowing jack o'lanterns. The Haunted Mansion also got its own transformation when I chose not to ink up the books that the house rests on before stamping it into the background. This left me with just the mansion that I could then color into a spooky moonlit landscape. Omitting part of the original image on one and adding extra details to the other are both easy and effective ways to expand the uses for the stamps you already have in your crafty stash and have them help you tell a different story with them. Once Piper, the Haunted Mansion and the landscape were all colored in using Copic markers, I masked them both off before airbrushing the sky and full moon into the background. The sentiment from the Frightful and Delightful Sentiment set was stamped onto a word bubble die cut and glued just above Piper so that it would look like she is peeking out from behind those jacks with a friendly greeting. Hopefully this card has shown you how small changes here and there can have a big impact on the cards that you create.  :)

Stay crafty my friends!

You are bootiful...

TGIF!

I'm back with one last card using the Fright Mice cuties that were part of the Frightful Nights Halloween Card kit at Hello Bluebird, which has unfortunately sold out. The last three little witch mice were paired together to create an adorable coven set on collecting as many sweet treats as their buckets can hold. I colored them into a simple night scene and then used the oversized sentiment from the All the Spooks set to fill the center of the card. I also added a smaller subheading from the Halloween Word Strips set to complete the fun message. It's a satisfying feeling to finally have all of the scenes that I had stamped up with this kit on cards before Halloween day arrives.  :)

Later gators!

Flying By...

Hey friends!

It looks like the second card that I made for this month's Pen Pal card swap that takes place in the Friends of Sweet November Stamps Facebook Group finally made its way to its recipient so I can now share it here on the blog. This one finds Witchwee Night Riders Edith and Tumble racing through an eerie green sky and I've added just the upper branches from the Spooky Tree Background Builder to the bottom of the scene to help establish how high off the ground she is. I also like how it looks like the branches are reaching for these two and trying to snatch them right out of the sky. Edith doesn't seemed to be as concerned as poor little Tumble there, LOL!  :)

Thanks for stopping by!
