Hello there!
I'm quite excited to be wrapping up this month with a guest post over on the Honey Bee blog. If you have been following me here for any length of time you will know that I am a card maker with a passion for creating fun scenes using stamps and Copic markers and I have done exactly that with the newly released Mae the Mouse set. With some careful masking I was able to dress Mae in her cute cover-alls and add the chocolate chip cookie in her little paws. It was the cookie that ended up inspiring the rest of the design as I could envision her having successfully raided the kitchen cookie jar. Because I had a lot of grey going on in the tile and Mae herself I chose to compliment that with a bright, sunny yellow. If you ask me, pairing grey and yellow is one of those combos you can never go wrong with. Then I decided to further the story by adding some cookie crumbs at her feet, hinting that perhaps this isn't the first cookie Mae has enjoyed... LOL! To finish off the card I borrowed one of the sentiments from the Seasonal Sweeties set and stamped it in light grey so that it wouldn't take away from the cute cookie thief scene that I had created.
Thanks so much for dropping by today!

A wonderful friend...
Hello, hello!
I'm tickled pink to share with you all that I am guest designing for Honey Bee Stamps this month! I've been a big fan of their stamps for a couple years now. Their designs range from sweet and whimsical to kind of folk artsy cool, all of which really speak to me. No matter the style, what I really love more than anything is how these sets are totally geared towards scene building and telling stories with your stamps... and you know I'm all over that! For my card today I had a lot of fun with the Snow Buddies set and masked a bunch of the cute characters together into a happy winter scene. The sentiment also comes from another great Honey Bee set called Friendship. All together and they make for one very happy little card, sure to bring smiles!
Alrighty friends, I'm off for a day of fun and coloring. See ya in 24!

Both thanks and giving...
Good morning!
Just a quick little post before I fly out the door... I have had this adorable Acorn Sisters stamp set from Honey Bee Stamps since late last Fall but it was just a little too late in the season and I didn't get them on a card. There was no way that I was going to let another year go by without inking them up. So when I saw the new Thankful and Grateful challenge go up on the Honey Bee Facebook group I knew this was the perfect time to get them on a card. I stamped them on vintage cream cardstock with rich cocoa ink and I love the softness that lends to the over all scene. This one was really worth the wait because I adore how it turned out. :)
Ok, gotta run!

Wishing you a fin-tastic day...
Hello!
It's the 7th and time for a new challenge over on the 7 Kids Customers Create Facebook page, thus the special Saturday post from me. For the next two weeks the theme will be "ocean". Nothing says summer quite like a day at the sea shore so I can't think of better inspiration for cards made during this time of year. And the beauty is you can go light and bright like a sunny day out on the water or dark and mysterious like a stormy sea. For my card I inked up another mermaid from the Under the Sea set by Honey Bee Stamps along with a bunch of the little scene builders that made it super easy to decorate the ocean floor. I kept things bright and happy with my Copic colors to match the joyful look on this sweet mermaid's face.
Ok, now it's your turn to create something for our "OCEAN" themed challenge. As always there is a $20 gift certificate to the 7 Kids store up for grabs and the new seasonal stamps and goodies will be starting to arrive soon so check it out!

A sea full of love...
Hi there!
Once again it's my turn to share some inspiration on the 7 Kids Customers Create Facebook page and I've got a lovely little mermaid from Honey Bee Stamps swimming by in a sea full of love. This braided beauty is from the Under the Sea set and the sentiment is from the Mermaid Song set. I stamped her in Desert Sand ink so that I could do no line coloring and I also did a tiny bit of altering by wiping away the lines on her arms and neck that created a shirt and colored in a kelp bralette instead. I also did a bit of masking on her hands so she could hold a sea shell that is part of the set as well. She is so peaceful and serene looking that I decided to "halo" her in soft rays of light shining down into the water. I can just imagine her bobbing along in the soft sway of a gentle current, letting the little fish flipper past. :)
Ok, there is still time to create something for our current "flowers" themed challenge. As always there is a $20 gift certificate to the 7 Kids store up for grabs and the store is full of fabulous new finds!

You will weather this storm...
Hello my crafty friends!
Can you believe it is time for a new challenge over on the 7 Kids Customers Create Facebook page already? This time around the theme is "RAIN". There are many ways to approach this challenge from finding an image with an umbrella (or just the right attitude, LOL), coloring in rain or raindrops, using lots of blues and grey inks or papers, to adding rain with Nuvo drops or Glossy Accents... just think wet and get creative! For my inspiration card I grabbed this loud little viking from the CC Designs Viking Kids set because he seems to share my attitude whenever I get caught out in the rain and that cracks me up. I decided to stretch my scene coloring skills by sticking him out on some seaside rocks as the storm rages around him. Is he brave or is he foolhardy? Only you can decide, LOL! The sentiment is pieced together from the Honey Bee Stamps Seasonal Sweeties set and gave this card a positive affirmation spin that leads me to believe he is indeed one brave little dude. ;)

Let's shellabrate...
Hello crafty friends!
I'm back with another card for the 7 Kids Customers Create Facebook page. If you are a regular follower of this ol' crafty blog than you may know that the last couple years I have dedicated the month of June to making mermaid cards. Well since this year I have design team commitments that aren't necessarily mermaid themed I have decided to start early and celebrate mermaids for the next two months. That way I will still have just as many under the sea themed cards, they will just be a bit spaced out. So I am kicking off Mer-May with this lovely mer from Honey Bee Stamps called Ocean Bliss. She is so regal looking, perched on that rock with her long hair flowing down in waves all around her. Because there are so many lines in the original image and I wanted to give her blonde hair, I inked Ocean Bliss up in Desert Sand and did the whole scene using the no-line coloring technique. I imagined her resting at the end of a stone jetty so I colored in some extra rocks before adding in the water and sky. The sentiment and message in a bottle come from another Honey Bee set called Mermaid Song and I really like how they tie the whole card together.
Alrighty, you've still got a week to enter a project into the "glitter/shimmer" challenge and as always there is a $20 gift certificate to the 7 Kids store up for grabs. So get crafty and join the fun!

Jingle all the way...
TGIF my friends!
So today is my final post as a 2016 design team member over on the TGF blog. It's hard to believe the year has flown by so quickly! I've had such a wonderful time and while I will miss being an official Farmer my love of Greeting Farm stamps runs too deep for it to really feel like I am saying good-bye. You can bet that I will be right there in line, eager to see what fun new characters Marie has in store for us in 2017. :)
For my last official DT card I decided to embrace my stamp altering roots and do a head swap to create this Christmas cutie. I used Amor Anya's head, with the hearts wiped away from her hat before stamping, and combined it with the present bearing body of one of the Secret Santa kit Anyas. I also grabbed the holly from the Pop Out Christmas set to add a festive touch to this new Anya's cap. I really wanted it to look like Anya was getting ready to do her own Santa run delivering presents but instead of a sleigh I gave her an old '57 Chevy to get around in... bright red of course! This girl is definitely ready to spread some Christmas cheer and jingle all the way! ;)
Have a wonderful weekend everybody!
