Thankfully thankful.

Thanksgiving was split between two days and two families this year. Thursday was spent with Olen’s family and the traditional turkey with all the trimmings. Friday was spent with my family and the untraditional traditions with all the trimmings.
I’m a major dork this year and started a ridiculous diet the week of Thanksgiving (anyone heard of HCG?) and so my version of Thanksgiving dinner was very calorically limited. Mostly I just stared at people eating pumpkin pie all day and bringing my family, and anyone who would listen to me, into the depths of my diet hell. Porter and London ran around with long-distance cousins, Olen caught up on football games with the guys while Daisy and I sat and watched everyone eat.

I have so much to be thankful for this year, mostly that I made it through the year in one piece. It’s really been a great year, but I know that there is always room for improvement and so I look forward with hope to what the next twelve months have in store.

  1. I have not heard of the HCG diet so I did a search. Was this medically necessary? Or...are you really that into torture? I admire your will power.

  2. Looks like it was fun, besides your ill time of starting a diet :)

  3. Too bad it wasn't your gorge day of the diet:) My sister did it about a month ago. Seems to be really popular.
That's fun that you got to set aside a day for each side of the family. Probably a lot less stressful!
