First crop in Thessaloniki...

Yesterday was a FABULOUS day... It was the first crop in Thessaloniki and I had the pleasure to participate.

We had a really great day. I met many cyber friends that internet has brought us close but the geographic distance is quite significant. But yesterday we proved that even this can be overcome ;o)

As you may imagine, the whole day was full of talk, exchange of know-how, techiques and opinions over products, more personal talk (of course!), food (after all, we were in Thessaloniki, with the best food in Greece in my humble opinion!)... but also creation! I really didn't think I was going to do anything, but at the end I managed to finish two layouts and start a third one which I finished today.

So I wanted to say a huge thank you to the participants... In alphabetical order:

AigliAlexChristinaElenaEleniElinaGogoKaterina AlexiouKaterina LaiopoulouKaterina (Sfragidomania)LefkiMaria TsilvidouMaria TsimirikaMarie, Natasa, Natasa TsoufOlgaRaniaRoulaStellaVivika.

And of course a SPECIAL thank you to Gogo who organised this so perfectly!

So let me show you what I did...

The first layout is for my nephew Nikola. I wish I could show you his sweet-sweet face, but I cannot do that ;o)

The second layout is from my "Amelie-style" photos - here is about my latest trip to Prague last Tuesday:

Finally, I thought I would experiment with something different for me - bright colours, simple lines and layout. However I'm not thrilled with the final results, at least now I know that this type of layouts are not for me ;o)

So that's it...

I really can't find the words to explain what a great time I had yesterday, not to mention creative. The tiredness at the end of the day (well, and today to be sincere) is of no importance!

I hope we meet again soon...

Hugs,
Anastasia

Scrapbookers in Greece online crop

Last weekend I broke every record of creativity...

We had an online crop over at Scrapbookers in Greece and thanks to the challenges set within 48 hours I managed to make a card, two layouts, one tag, one altered project and a framed decoration... and two destroyed ATC. Well, they are not going to escape, at the end I will make an ATC!

So... here is what I made...

First, I was delighted to be asked to prepare a card challenge. The challenge I chose was to make a card with smiles. Be it the images or the sentiment, I wanted to see smiles on the cards, something we really need in Greece these days! And here's the card I prepared for inspiration:

Then on Saturday I started with Katerina's first challenge της Κατερίνας. The layout is from my recent trip to London with a friend of mine:

Then I made a tag for the third challenge by Irini that asked us to make a card with butterflies:

Then I made a layout for the fourth challenge by Eleni, a bingo challenge. I enjoyed this layout very much, it is for my nephew Andreas, his grandmother is Norwegian (obviously not my aunt, the other grandmother!) and I bought him the shirt he's wearing from Copenhagen last month...

Then I did the ninth challenge by Roula this time. This was a multiple challenge for me, as she has asked us to alter an item and use flowers, butterflies and glitter... :S... ok, so sometimes I might use each of the elements separately, but never all together! And to make it even more challenging for me, I made it in dark pink colour, lol! But on the other hand I was glad to reach to my old decoupage materials and make a box. Thanks Eleni for the flowers you gave me! (oh yes, I don't even have flowers in my stash! lol!)

Last but not least, the second challenge with tvcrafts.gr. As soon as I read about the challenge, I knew what I wanted to do, something that I liked very much from the very first time I saw the video. So here's my Christmas tree, in the middle of June with 30+ C! If you like it, you can find the video here (hmmm... although it's in Greek!).

So that's it from me... I hope you like it! I wish I could have participated in the other challenges as well, but I didn't have enough time... and I had disastrous accidents with my ATC cards!

But I have to admit that I had a GREAT time and I was really astonished by the incredible creations and talent of the Greek scrapbookers/papercrafters! Bravo!!!

Crop in Athens February 5th

Hello everyone,

Last Saturday I had a GREAT time! I went to my first crop ever, organised by Irini - Get Creative.

Although I've been making cards since September, I had never tried scrapbooking before, mainly because of lack of pictures (you know, that horrible day you want to forget about, when your hard disk crashed and hundreds of photos were lost forever because you thought that this would never happen to you and you couldn't find the time to make a backup? Yes, PAINFUL story!).

Anyway, I've been flirting with the scrapbooking idea for a while now, and when I saw that Irini from Get Creative was organising a crop... well, suffice to say I was sooo glad with my last minute cancelation of my plans so that I could attend the crop.

Let me tell you, we had a great time! More than 20 ladies, scrapbooking along, giving advices, ideas... What more can I say, if you have been in a crop before, you can imagine what I'm trying to describe here. You can find some photos here.

So, of course, I had to give it a go and try to prepare a layout for the first time. I selected a couple of my cats' photos. Unfortunately the quality of the photos is not so good as I am really horrible with taking photos... and most of the photos are taken with my iphone... but anyway ("to do": get some advise from Petros, my cousin/friend photographer whose work I admire!). I thought I'd better work with what I had instead of not doing anything!

I prepared my very first layout for the pre crop challenge, which was a layout with only one colour. Somehow, I ended up preparing something in green - mainly driven by the 12x12 papers I had, which are not many, that would match well with the colours of the photos.

It took me a while to finish it off and the result is, to say the least, really basic and simple. Even so, I was glad that I finally prepared my very first layout, which is the following:

In addition to that, Irini had also prepared for us the materials and gave us instructions for a make-and-take mini album. So, not only did I prepare my first layout, I made my first mini album as well! Here are a few pictures of the mini album:

Isn't that lovely? I liked the mini-album so much that yesterday I spent some considerable time online looking for more inspiration... I ordered a couple of books and as soon as I receive them and decide over what to do next, I will get my first kit and give it a go...

Last but not least, I have to mention the lovely presents that we got from sfragidomania.gr and Cherrynest... We got some chipboard from someone else too, but I have to confess that I was too focused on my layout that I didn't hear who gave it to us :S (Plus the fact that I have a horrible difficulty with remembering names.... :S)

So, again a big thank you to Irini for organising this, and to the lovely ladies I met... Hope I'll see you again soon!
