Hey Everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend. Last week, I made this card by request. Vintage Hawaiian (not too flowery) was the theme I had to go off on for this wedding card, so this is what I came up with for the happy couple. By the way, this card goes down in history as a card for a happy same-sex couple who married in Washington D.C. after a recently passed a same-sex marriage law. Perfect card, right?!
Instructions
Trim cream cardstock to about 4" x 5.25", then stamp post cards into a background pattern. Add distress ink with blending tool to entire paper.
Hand stitch around the border.
Ruffle twill tape.
Tie tag around and secure with twine and a button.
Pop off an A2 aqua mist card base.
Tips & Tricks
Stamping a Background Pattern with an Image - Start in the center of your cardstock and work your way out to the edges. This will allow you get an even distribution of the image to create a pattern.
So I won't get overwhelmed with stamping, I do not stamp on large cardstock sheets. I stamp on sheets that will fit a card front or slightly larger.
Hey Everyone! Happy Friday Eve!! I'm back today with a card using some new Waltzingmouse Stamps that were delivered yesterday. I could not wait to get them inky and made a couple of cards. Here is one of them. I used heat embossing technique to emphasize the elegance that these stamps exude.
I'd also like to add that the color choices were inspired by Melissa Phillips' post here. and Sarah Martina's post here. Thanks for the inspiration!
Thanks so much for stopping by and as always enjoy yourself!
Instructions
Make an A2 card base.
Stamp lace border twice with watermark ink, cover with embossing powder, and heat set.
Tie ribbon into a bow.
Add pearls and hat pins. {Tip: Hat pins too long? I use a wire cutter to trim excess metal.}
Die cut label.
Stamp label border with watermark ink, cover with embossing powder, and heat set.
Stamp sentiment on label. {Tip: If an ink is fairly light, use a stamp-a-majig and re-stamp multiple times to get a darker ink appearance.}

I'll be happy when spring rolls around! Today, I'm sharing a wedding card using some of SEI's Juliette collection and Heide Swapp bling that I picked up at CHA. Wanna see more? Well, take a peek at the video below! I made a quick video to share with you what I found. I didn't buy much, but wanted to share it with you!
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Hey Bleeps! TGIF!! I'm so excited to share with you this vintage-modern wedding card. I can picture this given to one of the Ace of Cakes employees again. I watch way too much Food TV! Anyway, this card is for Caardvarks new challenge...wedding cards and is sponsored by CARDS magazine. Both elements of this challenge make me super happy because I enjoy making wedding cards and also browsing and creating for CARDS magazine. So, each of you should make a wedding card and enter it into this challenge because the winner will get PUBLISHED in CARDS' July issue! Isn't that great news?! I was so excited when I first heard about it and couldn't wait to share it here!
About this card...
Last weekend, I knew I had to make this card for the challenge to share with you all, but as usual I was procrastinating because I "think" I work well under pressure! :) We were snowed in a bit on Saturday and I was watching Extreme Home Makeover. It was a repeat I believe (the one with Mary J. Blige as the special guest). Well, one of the designers added damask wallpaper to one of the rooms. The wallpaper was purple with a gold damask pattern. I immediately said aloud, "That is so pretty. I'm making a card from that!" So, here it is!
Speaking of snow. We're expecting about 20" at least starting today through Saturday. So, I guess I'll be watching more TV, making more stuff, cooking, looking out the window, and napping! This is going to be one long weekend, but a happy one!
Take care and enjoy yourself!

Happy Hump Day Everybody! We're almost at the end...I can see it! The first week back from a vacation is always so very hard. My mind is so focused on getting to the next holiday, which is less than two weeks away...YAAAAY! Alrighty, now that I've gotten the vacation topic off of my chest, here is a card I made "last year"...really just last month! It's a wedding card for the Mister and Misses! It's traditional, but that pop of yellow makes it hip. Why do I envision giving this to one of the Ace of Cakes employees? I like that show. Do you watch it? I wish I had my own wedding cake made by them. I really could have too since they are located in Baltimore and I got married only about 45 minutes away...SHUX! OK - I went off again on a tangent! Just a tad bit chatty while typing this! Anyway, I have lots of designer deadlines fast approaching, but I have a few cards up my sleeve to share with you in the meantime!
Have a fun day and as always, I'm so grateful for your visit!

Hey there, Bleeps! I'm back today with a card inspired by Everything But the Kitchen Sink sketch challenge. The photo of the fireplace and mantle reminded me of my own home and I wanted to incorporate that design into a card. Since I love the color combination of blue and brown in my home, I thought I should carry that over onto the card as well. Because the focal point ended up being elegant, I made it a wedding card.
Hey there, Bleeps! TGIF! Quick poll for you all today. Do you like the color purple? I personally think the color is okay, especially for crafting, but I find many paper crafters are disgusted by the color! I thought I'd take a poll to find out the real reason behind why so many crafters dislike this girly color!
This card uses some Cut Cardstock.com cardstock! It's great because although you cannot see it, it has a slight linen texture to it. It's very subtle, yet effective. The design was inspired by Moxie Fab World's plum crazy challenge!
Enjoy your weekend!
Instructions
Trim card base to an A2 size.
Die cut label and stamp design.
Stamp leaves.
Punch hole through die cut, then tie ribbon into a bow and add pearl.
Stamp sentiment and adhere.

In Paper Crafts July/August issue, it encourages crafters to use limited supplies to make a variety of projects (in the magazine 5 different cards for $5). So, I decided a couple of months ago to embark on that venture. Here is a wedding series using minimal cardstock, patterned paper, ribbon, and tools.
Additional tools were used such as Cuttlebug, stamp, ink, nestabilities, computer, and printer, but those costs are nominal considering I use them on an almost everyday basis. So, that is why I decided not to include them in my overall cost analysis. The total cost for making the coordinating wedding ensemble is $5.50. So, I am $.50 over what Paper Crafts suggests, but this is for a wedding! I splurged on the patterned paper because it is a super limited supply. The matstack only includes 3 sheets of patterned paper, so in real life, I would substitute with a readily available patterned paper OR create my own by stamping a damask pattern. Those two options would greatly decrease my overall cost.
I call my first Wedding Series line, "Punch of Elegance" because it is elegant with the flocked damask patterned paper and packs a punch of color with the bold raspberry fizz cardstock. I say my first because I plan to add additional samples to my collection.
So, what do you think?

How's life treating you? For me, I was a bit under the weather. How do allergies hit you in the middle of July? Well, they hit me big time! So, I had to get juiced up on some meds so my nose and head could feel regular again! Let's hope it works SOON!
I made this card a couple weeks ago for my cousin, but still have not sent it. Why I do this I have no clue! Anyway, I used some new Stampin' Up! stamps (but they came out earlier this year). Love that big flower and how you can create a simple, graphic background. I used colors I saw photographed at the wedding since I did not attend.
Have you remembered to vote in the Gallery Idol contest? Well, don't forget.
It's time for this week's Gallery Idol contest. The theme is weddings. I always enjoy making wedding cards. My favorite is this cake card, but now I like to incorporate an elegant style. When making wedding cards, I like to personalize them, typically by using the wedding colors. You can get an idea of wedding colors by analyzing the invitation most times. Here, I wanted to take it a step further and add a monogram. At weddings, many couples use a monogram of their names together, so I wanted to display that in a card. Who doesn't like to see their name?!
So, please hop on over to Paper Crafts Gallery Idol contest and check out all of those fabulous wedding cards, then vote for your favorite! Have fun!
Card Instructions
Trim vintage vanilla cardstock into a square card.
Hey there! How is it going? Everything is going great around my way. Last night, I had to run to Georgetown (Ritz Carlton) to help McArthur photograph a music release party. A few local celebrities like TV anchors, Leon Harris, Jim Vance, and Andrea Roane were there. Ginuwine and his wife Sole also made an appearance and were very cordial. They loved taking pictures and here is one that I took of them! Neat, huh?! His new album is to be released next month I believe. He is a DC Metro native and grew up not too far from my Maryland hometown. I saw him in concert while I was in undergrad, so it was so fun to see him again! He's a really nice person, along with his wife as well.
Anyway, I made today's card last night after returning from Georgetown and needed to make something quick because I was tired. So, I pulled out the SEI Bridgeport collection. I won the collection from Cath's Moxie Fab World blog from the Citrus Color challenge a few weeks ago. When I received my package, I was so happy to see that she sent an SEI collection because I really like SEI and this collection is beautiful. The textures and colors are by far my favortie parts to this collection. I can't wait to use it again.
Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day!
Card Instructions
Trim smokey shadow cardstock into an A2 card.
Trim patterned papers to 4" x 5.25" and adhere together.
Tie ribbons around (first grey ribbon, then purple ribbon into a bow).
Adhere to card front.
Stamp sentiment on cardstock sticker and adhere to card front with foam adhesive.
This week's K. Werner Color Challenge was just that...a challenge! I'm not a black/white kinda girl, so I had to keep it simple and DIG for gray. I did find some grosgrain ribbon and felt so I used both!
I don't know if you've noticed, but my recent cards have not used stitching and that's because I've broken another sewing machine! Somehow, I keep jamming the bobbin components. I'm going to take it to a repair shop soon before investing in another one. So, my friend Tessa always uses faux stitching that looks so real and I'd thought to try it now. I paper pierced holes using the Scor-Bug, then used a white Signo pen to create the 'stitch.' Easy Peasy!! But, does it look like stitching? Be honest!
Card Instructions
Trim pattern paper to 3.75" x 5".
Paper pierce holes and faux stitch.
Tie a gray and black ribbon around pattern paper.
Stamp frame and sentiment, cut out and adhere to pattern paper with foam adhesive.
Punch butterflies and adhere rhinestones, then adhere to pattern paper.
Adhere pattern paper to a pre-scored A2 white card.

This card is a simple card that can be for many occasions. I made it for a couple who renewed their vows. I'm really liking purple and green on cards lately. Have you all seen the new release over at PTI? I'm going to place my order next week and hope they keep everything in stock! Typically, I like to make sure I want the items I order and try not to impulse shop...anymore! I have a list, but I'm sure by next week, there will be a change with items I need and others crossed off that aren't as necessary. I have to remind myself that I can always buy some later.
I'm just now getting around to making a few cards with my SU! stamp sets I ordered from the new catty. I have one more stamp set to use and then I'll be happy that they are not neglected and can move on to order MORE! :) My camera battery was out (which seems to happen every time I turn it on to take a photo), so I will share some with you tomorrow.
Mondays are such a drag, but I make the most out of them and am grateful for starting a new week and creating more! We returned back from Raleigh yesterday evening and I even had a chance to make a quick card. I'll share it with you tomorrow. I did get a 45 minute quick stop in Archiver's and I was in my 'glory!' They had a lot of neat ideas showcased and seemed to focus on gift ideas for the holidays, which is right up my alley. I lucked up and found some Making Memories loop trim that I've been yearning, so I bought the remaining 10 yards on the roll! I also picked up a lot of Making Memories embellishments because all Making Memories products were 20% off!
I made this special request card for someone who is attending a wedding and wanted to personalize the card especially for them...how sweet! So, she had the idea of stamping their names at the bottom of the card as opposed to "bride & groom" in my cased card here. I also added a pop of red to the flowers as the bride is wearing pops of red.
I hope you enjoy your Monday!
To create this card:
Trim cardstock to 11" x 4.25", then score at 5.5".
Trim black cardstock to about 3.25" x 3".
Emboss names on bottom of card base.
Emboss cake and cut out.
Tie silver ribbon into a knot around black cardstock.
Pop cake off of black cardstock.
Adhere flowers to cake.
Pop black cardstock off of the card base.

Hi everyone! It's Sunday, and boy how the weekend flies by. I'm excited because I'm in Raleigh and will get a chance to stop by Archiver's briefly. I'll definitely get some of their pre-scored cards/envelopes because they are just irresistable.
This card is using Loonie Stamper's Color Challenge. Obviously, I'm all into this double-ribbon design I've started. But, isn't it just so nice to see all of that ribbon? I really like incorporating ribbon into my designs, so why not two?!
To create this card:
Trim cardstock to 11" x 4.25", then score at 5.5".
Trim purple cardstock to about 3.25" x 4.5", then corner round the edges.
Stamp sentiment on vanilla cardstock.
Tie two ribbons into a knot around purple cardstock.
Add vintage brad to the ribbon.
Pop purple cardstock off of the card base.
:: My Goodies {love and happiness}:: Stamps: PTI-heartfelt sentiments Ink: plum pudding Cardstock: vanilla; plum pudding; kraft Accessories: dimensionals; ocean tide grosgrain ribbon; paper studio-vintage brad (hobby lobby) Technique: Stamped Card Size: 4.25 x 5.5
Here is a frame that is WAY past due. Yep...late again! The wedding was in October, but I still have this frame. I completed it in September (with intentions of being on time), but I need to make a card to match and throw in a gift card. But, I like sending wedding gifts late because I liked receiving them late. I think you have up to a year to give wedding gifts. Do you think that's weird that I validate my tardy wedding gifts! It's an extra surprise and you get to buy some things you didn't get on your wedding day; plus, it will be like a Christmas gift! Making frames are easy and I think when wedding invitations fit a frame like this, it's a great gift to give because it is a keepsake they would want to actually keep.
I'll make a card and share it later. Oh yeah, I smudged the last names for privacy, so if you think parts of the picture are blurred, they are!
To make this frame:
Paint wood frame with acrylic paint.
Stamp flowers in versamark ink, then heat emboss with white embossing powder.
Add pearls to the stamped image.
Tie ribbon in a bow around the frame.
Add a hat pin with beads to the knot in the ribbon.
:: My Goodies {frame}:: Stamps: SU!-Artfully Asian Ink: versamark Accessories: sweet blush grosgrain ribbon; hat pin + beads; pearls; heat gun; white embossing powder; frame; brown acrylic paint Technique: Stamped; Heat Embossed Card Size: 4.25 x 4.25
This is a super easy wedding card to do. I was inspired by the colors and lines in the photo pictured right from Beate's Challenge. I think these would make great spring/summer wedding colors. A pale blue and brown with a touch of orange.
To make this card:
Make card base.
Stamp curly label in orange ink.
Stamp ampersand in orange ink.
Stamp bride/groom in brown ink.
Cut out curly label.
Score vertical lines every 1/2" on card base (you can barely see this in the photo).
Wrap brown ribbon around card base.
Pop curly label off the ribbon and center.
EDITED TO ADD: Thanks for all of the anniversary wishes! You all are great blogger supporters! HEEE!

Today's card is a case of a previous card, but colors are tailored to fit specific requests. I am currently in New York City typing this post, in the financial district, directly across the street from where the WTC used to be. It is a sad empty space. But, to make matters better, I did make my way across the street to Century 21 department store. Can you believe they open up before 8:00 am? Well, I was glad because to stay awake I needed to shop. I have been up since about 3:15 this morning traveling here. Anyway, I hope to post some pictures later or for tomorrow of some neat things I may see! Have a good one!

This is a case of my card here. The request was to replicate the original card, but everyone should know I hate duplicating cards, so I changed one tiny thing to "improve" it. I added paper flowers with pink rhinestone centers. It is kind of like fondant flowers, right? :: My Goodies :: Stamps: PTI-Piece of Cake Ink: SU! The concept for this card started with something "girly and pink" for a 12-year old. So, immediately I selected one of my many flower stamp sets and stamped three flowers. The background is stamped in pink on green cardstock, then the overlay details are stamped in brown ink. I cut each flower out and popped them off of brown squares, which are also popped off of the card base. All of it is hidden behind a pink grosgrain ribbon. I stamped the sentiment below. I will probably replicate this card because I like its simplicity without the name. But, I was supposed to personalize it for Courtney, so I stamped her name on pink cardstock and cut each letter out to adhere to the card base in a quirky format.

This weekend, I got a chance to play with a new Maya Road tree stamp set that I purchased at Scrapdoodles. I will probably show you later this week. I even used it to start off my holiday card templates. I am getting excited about holiday cards, but also apprehensive about the projected work load! Happy Monday!
