for the gecko galz customer challenge "spring's muse."
this creation is 1.5 x 1.5 inches square.
paper and image from gecko galz.
she is here to inspire you to be fashionable with a little sass.
love to all.
this blog is to chart my creative evolution with stamping, paper-crafting, mixed media and some other stuff i haven't figured out yet... on the theory that challenging myself to try new things and post them to the "world" will be good for me. and might also be good for others. my blog title is inspired by julia cameron's "the artist's way" and her admonition to fill the well.

a "tiny" fall harvest
happy september! this month at gecko galz our customer challenge theme is "harvest time." in the northern hemisphere autumn is very near. i was in the mood to go "tiny" so here are 2 inchies to get this started.
supplies: 1x1 inch base from inchie arts; gecko galz "thankful for fall jewel it" collage sheet; gecko galz autumn colors mini paper pack; distress ink; enamel dot.
instructions: i fussy cut numerous images from the "thankful for fall" collage sheet. i covered the first inchie base with paper from the autumn colors pack and on the second i used an image from the thankful for fall sheet. i distressed the edges and then arrange additional images from the collage sheet. i added an enamel dot to the second inchie.
how to play along with the customer challenge: you must use at least one item by gecko galz. if you sign up for the monthly gecko galz newsletter you'll get a free collage sheet every month. sign up at the blog here, on the top left. there are also wonderful freebies at the gecko galz pinterest page. and there are always wonderful deals at the etsy shop -- and if you are a newsletter subscriber you'll also get notice of the special one buck wednesday deals! for this challenge your deadline to link up is september 30!
come back here on september 14 for some additional tiny harvest treats inspiration!
love to all.

more inchie love
earlier this month i posted an inchie (1x1 inch creation) which i submitted to the 100 proof press inchie contest. i made a couple more, all stamp credits to 100 proof press. i continue to find it interesting to work with a larger stamp (larger than an inch!) and to fill the space with just a part of it.
both of these backgrounds involved heavy spritzing with spray watercolors.
so small and kind of adorable!
love to all.

moo plus inchie
i'm having fun with small canvases this month. today i am sharing a "moo" (roughly 1.1 x 2.8 inches) and an inchie (1x1).
my moo is in response to the moo mania challenge blog current challenge to create in black and white. i cannot recall the source of the black and white image of the woman. i'll update the post when i can find the collage sheet on my computer! the rest is simple -- white background and some decorative black border.
the inchie is for the 100 proof press inchie challenge (running until sept 15). of all the 100 proof stamps i own i could not find anything that was smaller than an inch. so i used just a portion of a clown stamp from the company. i covered my inchie base with french script background paper from my stash, used a stencil and spray inks to create the polka dot background, stamped the clown and then bordered it in black ink.
enjoy. love to all.
