“Retro Lolita”

i decided to make coasters with these images.  i started with a trip to the dollar store --

ultimately decided to go with the square coasters instead of the round ones.

gecko galz products used: retro lolita collage sheet; darling dragonflies collage sheet; la vie en rose collage sheet; scripted collage sheet; time flies collage sheet; card toppers collage sheet; vintage card toppers collage sheet; la isla bonita paper pack; gatsby digital paper pack; along with random borders, die cuts, stickers, distress inks, etc., from my stash.

here they are all together.  if anyone has tips for sealing these so they can actually be used as coasters let me know.  otherwise they'll just have to be decorative!

Now have fun visiting each Blog

If you did not start at the Gecko Galz Blog you might want to start there so you will not miss a thing!

i hope you've enjoyed your visit here so now keep hopping along -- lots of free goodies at every stop and the possibility of additional prizes if you've commented at every stop.

love to all.

birds on tins

because of my interest in altering tins i put a call out on a note on the office refrigerator for people to give me their old altoids tins.  one person gave me several.  so I made a set of altered tins for her.

my image sources were the que sera paper pack, the "vintage birds" collage sheet and the "just a note" collage sheet by gecko galz.  i used the same washi tapes for both borders and similar papers on the insides and bottoms since this was meant to be a set.  i also used prima flowers on both.

enjoy; love to all.

december inspiration at gecko galz

it is time to share some of the new items at gecko galz along with the cross promotion with our partner this month, robyn gough.

supplies:
gecko galz “from russia with love II” college sheet
robyn gough paper pack and digital images
cardstock
distress inks

instructions:
this card started as a digital creation.  i selected the designer paper i wanted from the robyn gough collection along with several additional items from her collection of digital images and i re-sized and re-arranged images until i had it the way i wanted.  i printed the creation and glued on the image from the gecko galz collage sheet which I had already fussy cut.  i adhered the creation to cardstock with scor-tape and cut it out (the dimensions are 4x4).  the final step was distressing the edges.

A REMINDER:  the gecko galz blog is featuring a special christmas tag every day this month.  if you comment on the blog post and follow the blog of the tagger you'll be able to get a free digital stamp so please check it out!

this is my last piece for the unruly paper arts 12 days of christmas challenge as well. i did it! i posted a christmas creation every day for 12 days!  thanks to the unrulies for helping me get my holiday cards done!

enjoy; love to all.

hallowe'en greetings at my artistic adventures challenge blog

very excited to be a guest designer today for heather's my artistic adventures challenge blog first challenge -- hallowe'en greetings!

heather provided us a collage sheet of hallowe'en images which you can find at her my artistic adventures etsy shop.  it is a delightful sheet she created.  i made a tag featuring some of the images on this sheet.

i started with a cardboard base which i covered with designer paper from gecko galz called "dark magic."  it has a lot of skulls on it but you can't actually see them!

i added a border on the far left which i covered in letter stickers to spell the word "spooky."  then i arranged and adhered 5 images from heather's awesome collage sheet.

the final touches include distressed edges, a bit of washi tape where i punched the hole for the tag, a raven sicker and a zombie brad.  and some black cord of course.

happy hallowe'en!  please check out the challenge blog for more details on how to participate in the challenge!

love to all.
