exploring "white space"

at three muses the new challenge is "white space." the first time i saw a challenge like that i thought i had to actually leave white space in the creation. (if you want a chuckle about that see this post.)

since then i learned it is really more like creating "empty" space to create balance in the art piece. i'm still exploring this and hoping to get it right; i am totally at kindergarten level on this subject. here are some things i tried:

two weeks of glorious purple!

hello all! it is my turn to host the challenge at tag tuesday again for the next two weeks and i've chosen my favorite color as the theme: "purple." i made so many tags in the color purple that i'll share three today and three next tuesday! here we go:

all the backgrounds are from songbirdy "mauveine" with other images from songbirdy "mauveine" and "hanky panky" kits and various lunagirl collage sheets. the words are from a tim holtz sticker set. all tags were made the old fashioned way: cutting and gluing!

it is week two of the tag tuesday "summer fun" challenge and also the new challenge for august at gecko galz is shabby chic seaside. 

in my mind there is no summer fun like fun by the sea so i've made a tag for both challenges!
