Finishing up the Q2 Finish Along!

My oh my!!!  ... 2015 is already half over?  And of course that means the Q2 Finish Along hosted by the lovely Adrianne from On the Windy Side is also wrapping up :*)

2015 Finish-Along

You absolutely want to go over HERE to see all the gorgeous
finished projects being proudly linked up for the linky party!!!

I managed to eek out only FOUR finishes from the nine hopeful UFO's on my Q2 Finish Along list (see it HERE) - not such a great accomplishment I admit.  But considering the last couple of months, I'm not going to be too hard on myself.

The last of my finishes I'm sharing here with you today is actually the first one I completed this quarter - I simply forgot to blog about it!!!

Bind Blue Noel .....

This was my Guild UFO #8, the number called in March that was due the first Tuesday in April.  I started piecing it in 2010, finished quilting it in 2014, and finally got the binding on this past April to fulfill one of my Q2 List items - hooray!!!!!

This amazing little quilt is an original design by Melissa at Doodle-head Stitches who was a member at our Guild at that time.  She designed it as a Mystery BOM for us in 2010 and needless to say we all loved it!  She gave us the option for two sizes, and of course I had to pick the smaller one.  I can't wait to add it to my Christmas decorations this year :*)

Other Q2 Finish Along projects I completed are:

* Peacock See-N-Go Project Bag (see it HERE)

* Five of the Bertie's Year Wall Quilts (see it HERE)

* Raspberry Smooshy Socks (see it HERE)

I'll be posting my Q3 Finish Along list soon - you can start placing your bets now to see how many I get done LOL!!!!

Hugs & Blessings!

Catching Up With Miss Bertie ....

It's been quite a while since we checked in to see what Miss Bertie's has been up to .....

This is May's little wall quilt which I finished up last year.  It has greeted me each morning this month as I blindly stumble toward the coffee pot - so bright and happy!  As you know, one of my favorite things about Miss Bertie is her creative hat choices.  Don't you just love the little spring blossom hat on this one?

At the end of the year last year, I had completed six of these fun little BOM quilts - January through June.  December is still in the bag, untouched.  But July through November were in various stages of completion.  Four of them were pieced, appliqued and embroidered, just in need of sandwiching and quilting to be done.  The August quilt still needed to have the half-square-triangle border attached and the embroidery stitched around the center section....

Finishing these five quilts was one of my items on my Q2 Finish-Along list, as well as my guild's UFO list for this year, so I grabbed up my box and took it along to retreat a couple of weeks ago at the Red Rooster.

And Lo and Behold!
I got all five DONE!!!
(They may look a little wonky because they are not laying flat on the table,
but they are perfectly straight, I promise :*)

July Bertie's Year
One of my absolute FAVORITES!!!

August Bertie's Year

September Bertie's Year

October Bertie's Year

November Bertie's Year
HOORAY!!!!

I'd really rather not think about how much more quickly the months fly by with each passing year.  Is that true for you too?  Well, I find that looking forward to displaying a new little quilt with each flip of the calendar page makes it a little easier :*)

2015 FAL at On the Windy Side

I'm delighted to mark this item off my Q2 Finish Along list - you can see my list HERE if you are interested.  Adrianne at On the Windy Side blog is the hostess of this fun quarterly event, and I have to say, it has really helped to motivate me to get some projects completed that would very likely still be languishing on a shelf in my UFO closet!

Hugs & Blessings!

2015 Finish-Along Q2 List

2015 FAL at On the Windy Side

Since I only completed 4 of my 10 Finish-Along projects listed last quarter, I am really motivated to do better this quarter!  I'll keep the 6 remaining Q1 unfinished projects on my list to finish up in Q2, and then add a few more that I believe I can get done....

#7     Make 2 Bionic Gear Bags -

I made my first Bionic Gear Bag in early February so I could have it ready for retreats at Sewanee and Mountain Quiltfest.  It worked perfectly!  I had everything I needed right at hand and easy to access.  When I was done, zip it up and pop it in my machine case!

As you can see, this bag holds a ton!!!  I'll do a separate post soon to show you more about this amazing tool :*)

#8     Finish knitting my Raspberry Smooshy Socks -  see more detail about these HERE if you are interested :)

#9 - Bind Blue Noel -

This one should be easy.  It is my UFO for guild that needs to be done for the April meeting next week.  I started this quilt in 2010 and finished quilting it in 2014.  It is small, so binding it should be a snap!

That's it for new items on the list.  Here is a simple re-listing of the projects left over from last quarter.  You can read more about them in my Q1 post HERE if you like.

1.     Finish quilting and bind Montego Bay
2.     Quilt and bind Whooooooo's Your Daddy?
3.     Complete 5 Bertie's Year wall quilts
4.     Quilt and bind Amish Beauties
5.     Complete Shark Pencil Case
6.     Complete Peacock See-N-Go Bag

I think that will keep me busy and out of trouble for the next couple of months, don't you think?  Well, hopefully anyway LOL!!!  Are you joining in on the challenge?  There are some AMAZING prizes!!!!  Just sayin' :*)

Hugs & Blessings!
