A Day Full Of Sparkle

Today is my cousin-in-law's birthday.
Happy Birthday, Vero!Smiley from millan.net

Last year she heard me discussing Twilight with some fellow scrappers and became curious. After watching the two movies, she quickly read the series. Now, she suffers from full blown Twilight-itis and has passed it on to her daughter.

It is in honor of that...common obsession interest I made her this card for today. I used this week's sketch from Mojo Monday, something I've always wanted to do, but never done. Don't know why.

Stamps: Artful Inkables Fictionally Inspired, Into the Moonlight
Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black
Papers: CTMH Black, Tulip, That's Amore Reflections Kit

I realize that even though I wished her a sparkle-filled day, nothing on the card actually sparkles. But any true Twi-hard like her would know what I meant. Smiley from millan.net

Bunny Love One More Time

One last Bunny Swap card for this Easter morning.

Stamps: CTMH Bunny Love
Inks: Memento Rich Cocoa, CTMH Chocolate
Papers: CTMH Veranda Creative Basics
Did everyone find a big basket of eggs and chocolate this morning? Smiley from millan.net

Yesterday, Engineer and I spent the day moving our bedroom furniture from the various places in the house back into the newly finished bedroom. So about 10 last night I gasped and said, "Is the Easter Bunny hiding eggs for tomorrow?!"

I think I'll have to tell the boys our house was too dangerous for the Easter Bunny to stop and hid anything. Not only would it probably be weeks before we found any eggs, but he most likely would have tripped and broken his lucky rabbit's foot in the process!

Bunny Love Again

Everyone is still asleep...late night at the movies I guess. I wonder if they all dreamt about dragons?
Smiley from millan.net
So before the day gets busy with Mom stuff, I'll share another Bunny Swap card.

Stamps: CTMH Bunny Love, April Word Puzzle , March Word Puzzle
Inks: CTMH Crystal Blue, Sweet Leaf
Papers: CTMH Caboodle Reflections Kit

This was my favorite out of the three I sent her. I told her the other day I hated to send them away, but at least they were going to someone that would appreciate them. She laughed and said they were sent to a loving home.

Bunny Love

Last month in our CopicCrafters group we had a a Bunny Swap.
Smiley from millan.net
Not that kind of bunny, we just called ourselves bunnies, got assigned a secret swap partner and made three Spring/Easter themed cards to be sent to them over the month. We also have the owners of Oozak.com in our group so we also did a little shopping for our swap partner and had lots of fun. Shopping is fun no matter who you're doing it for, right?

Anyway, the big reveal time has come and gone, so I can safely show the cards I sent to my partner without spoiling anything for her. This is the first card she received from me.

Stamps: CTMH Bunny Love
Inks: CTMH Blush, Spring Iris, Memento Tuxedo Black
Papers: CTMH Daydream Reflections Kit

We took the boys to dinner and a movie tonight...actually dinner at the movie because I was afraid we'd be late and not find seats. We saw How To Train Your Dragon...in 3D and it was totally awesome! Smiley from millan.net The boys sat quietly, ate their food, wore their glasses, watched the movie...best $367.29 we've ever spent. The movie was really good, too.

I'm off to bed. Smiley from millan.net

Are You Ready For Some Christmas?

Okay, with the holiday bearing down on me and all my unfinished business, this will be short and sweet. I'm sure you have much more pressing things to do than surf the web, so you'd better read fast, then get busy.

Unless you're one of those goody-goody people that have had everything
mailed Smiley from millan.net, baked Smiley from millan.net, and crafted Smiley from millan.net since last week.

If you are, then I want you to tell me how you did it!

This is what my Visiting Teaching companion and I gave our ladies this holiday, plus a metal star ornament that I neglected to get a picture of. I had some left over treat boxes from a previous workshop that got dressed up with a tree and glitter. The tag was made with the Frosty Village punch from Martha Stewart. I'll tell you I had a couple of sorry looking villages before I got the nuances of this cute punch!

Stamps: CTMH Peace on Earth
Inks: CTMH Ponderosa Pine
Papers: CTMH Ponderosa Pine, White Daisy, SU! Kraft cardstock

I added Frosted Lace Stickles to the Frosty Village pop ups, you know...to give it that frosty look.

Now, back to the holiday cheer of wrapping presents and cleaning house!

Poinsettia Flower Pot Cards

I have no idea where my brain has been the last week or so but this morning when the boys reminded me that tomorrow was the last day of school before break...well, I knew I should find said brain and make sure it was awake! Smiley from millan.net

I always manage to find great things to give the boys' teachers...in August. But do I just go ahead and get them, put them away, and wait until the time is right?

No way. Then time gets away from me and the next thing I know, it is the week before Christmas. You guys did realize that, right?

Smiley from millan.net Or did I just upset you? Sorry.

I closed my eyes to the dishes in the sink and the laundry in the baskets and set out to at least get cards made for the two wonderful ladies that put up with fill my boys' heads with knowledge on a daily basis. I knew it had to be something simple and something fast.

**If you've been visiting here for a while you're probably laughing right about now.
**If you're new here, I'll just tell you...I can't do simple or fast, no matter how hard I try!

I scanned all my idea sources quickly and settled on this flower pot card.
And what flower goes better at Christmas time than a poinsettia? Smiley from millan.net And it just so happens I got these nifty Poinsettia Nestabilities last month...so problem solved!

Stamps: CTMH Ms. Holiday Cheer
Inks: CTMH New England Ivy, Cranberry
Papers: CTMH Everlasting Creative Basics (retired), New England Ivy, Cranberry, Colonial White

We got them gift cards that will fit nicely on the back of the insert. Now I just have to get the boys to sign them and not forget to take them tomorrow.

Snowman Set Part 4

Are you here to see the last snowman card in the set? Good, because I just finished it and now it's ready to show.

Stamps: Dustin Pike digital stamp, CTMH Peace on Earth
Inks: CTMH Cocoa, Cranberry, New England Ivy
Papers: CTMH Holiday Creative Basics (retired), Cocoa, Cranberry, New England Ivy, Colonial White

I went back to the glitter for this card. Hope it shows up. You know what would make the glitter really show up?

A photo tent.

Yup, I'm pretty sure a photo tent would do the trick. Smiley from millan.net

Please excuse me while I go get a letter to Santa started.

Snowman Set Part 2

Wow, I'm on some kind of blog kick. Three days in a row! There's got to be something I'm overlooking if I can find the time to make cards and blog...I suppose it'll rear it's ugly head soon enough. But for now, I'm having fun coloring!

Here is the second card for my snowman set. This one really gets the state of emotion right about now, don't you think?

Stamps: Dustin Pike digital stamps
Inks: CTMH Twilight, Pansy Purple
Papers: CTMH Twilight, Pansy Purple, Petal

It's very sparkly in real life. Maybe because I used lots of glitter...and pearl mist. Everything should sparkly this time of year!

The perfect sentiment to finish off the card.

Now, I've got some time before the boys really do get home from school and I think I'll get out some more decorations. They say they want to help, but as soon as homework is done they gravitate to the computer games.

That's okay, I can make a mess all on my own. Smiley from millan.net

Super Late Birthday Card

Flyin' in with a card to share.
Smiley from millan.net

But first, let me just start by saying why I really love CTMH's Background & Texture paper: among other reasons, the back of the paper has the same designs as the front, only in monotone hues. This makes the paper very versatile in my book. It also makes looking for it so much easier! Not that I have all my papers scattered around the place (no comments, Engineer!), but if there is a scrap lying about, I instantly know what it is. And I mostly 99.9% of the time use only CTMH paper. The other 0.1% is only because another paper is just so perfect for the project, I have no choice but to use it.

Why am I babbling on about paper?

Years ago, I found a perfect sheet of paper to make a layout of my brother for my parent's anniversary album. I was being frugal at the time and only bought one sheet. Something I would never be able to do today! Anyway, I knew I had some of it left and wanted it for this very late birthday card. I found it, pulled it out, then set it aside for when I had time to make it. The other day I was desperately trying to find that just right scrap of paper. I looked over and through everything in my closet. When I had given up...I found it. I didn't notice it before because it was turned over...and just plain white on the back! I felt silly, it staring at me the whole time. So now I'm wishing all paper companies would print on the backside of their papers, too!

Are you still with me? Smiley from millan.net

Okay, here's the finished card...

Stamps: Stamping Bella SuperTyler
Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black
Papers: CTMH Cranberry, Black, a precious scrap of Superman paper from unknown company

The inside says, "Sorry it's Super Late!"

I did color with my Copics, it had been a while...I missed them. I also got to use a new tool, well new to me. I had been waiting for the I-top to come to Michael's for a while...love those 50% coupons! I used it to make the brad next to the sentiment. I can tell this will be a fun tool to use!

Today we're having a surprise birthday party for him...how better to surprise someone than to throw a party 2 weeks late!

I Can See The Light At The End Of The Tunnel

I'm still scrapping away making sure I have everything done for the New Idea Open House tomorrow. I've got workshops created for the next three months, displays for the new Workshops On The Go, sign-ups for the next round of Oh, Scrap! and Wild Cards (my once a month scrapbooking and card making groups), display items for the new Jingle My Reflections Kit, displays for the Everyday Celebrations Card Kit (which as of this morning is down to 51% stock left available), and just making sure all the little odds and ends are completed. I haven't seen my dining table in a month!

And I'm also sad to report my brother suffered from my breaking of my New Year's resolution. I have done pretty well so far, but his birthday happened in the middle of all my chaos and I did not get his card made in time!

I don't know what my problem was, it's the same day every year, it's not like I didn't know it was coming, but I just got too busy.
Smiley from millan.net

After tomorrow, I'll be able to sit down and make him a nice card and play with a new tool I got recently...but until then I'll share something NOT for the Open House.

Stamps: CTMH Grateful Hearts
Inks: CTMH Autumn Terracotta, Goldrush, Barn Red
Papers: CTMH Harvest My Reflections Kit (way long retired, I just really love the leaves in it)

Last month, for some strange reason, I thought I could participate in a card front swap in The Frugal Scrapper yahoo group. "I know I have lots to do, but you say there's a swap going on? Sign me up!" I really need to think before I act sometimes. But, I did set aside some precious time and get 7 of these card fronts made and mailed. I kept it simple so I wouldn't have a meltdown Smiley from millan.net and leave my family to fend for themselves...which is actually what they've been doing the past couple of weeks anyway.

And to add to all the guilt of being busy and oblivious to everything around me...today is my 10 year anniversary with Engineer! Yeah for us! Do I have a card for him? Smiley from millan.net

PS: Marianne! I went and got the book right away on Tuesday! I've only been able to read the first 2 chapters, but I'm loving it so far!

Shake That Booty

I have a friend that is about 9 months and 20 minutes pregnant. And I know how fun it is to be pregnant in this AZ summer weather...it's not. So for her baby shower gift, I made this card to go with it...hoping that she would laugh so hard, it would help the baby come quicker.

It didn't work.

Loquacious helped pick out the stamp. It was either this one or the "Shake That Booty" one.
He thought this was funnier, I have no idea whySmiley from millan.net

Stamps: Inkadinkadoo Little Cupcake
Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black
Papers: CTMH Sweet Pea Reflections Kit

I should have made another one with the other stamp anyway. Engineer called me on Monday while I was doing the card to ask me if I felt the earthquake. I don't watch TV during the day so I had no idea one had hit Baja, Mexico. He said he felt the building sway and his blinds were swinging. A couple of buildings downtown were even evacuated! All this going on and I had no idea.

I think I need to get out more.Smiley from millan.net
