D-lish Scraps 5th Birthday Bonanza .. Challenge No. 8 by Karyn

Didn't have time to participate in the D-lish Scraps' 5th Birthday Bonanza cyber crop challenges over the weekend? Well don't worry, you still can! You have until midnight AEST on Monday 14th July 2014 to upload your entries. So get scrapping!!

The eighth, and final, challenge for the cyber crop was a technique challenge by Karyn Schultz which required painting with plastic. As in instead of a paint brush or other tool.

This challenge was FUN! Definitely a technique I'm going to play with again!

Hello

This layout celebrates me finally meeting an online scrappy friend, San (Sandra Wallace), at a scrapbooking retreat in March this year. San and I have been on some design teams together and have the same weird sense of humour and love of life. Meeting San in person was like meeting a long lost sister. I can't wait to catch up with her at another retreat in October this year.

I used a lot of D-lish Scraps embellishments on this layout but unfortunately the bulk of them came from the latest Just Add Paper Kit (Hello .. I love you) which I think sold out in something like five seconds flat! Otherwise I've used .. black Motex Tape, a white Aster, a 3.5" round paper Doily, and kraft Shipping Tags.

Thanks for the wonderful inspiration Karyn and the step by step instructions on the blog (see HERE).

D-lish Scraps 5th Birthday Bonanza .. Challenge No. 7 by Wendy

Don't forget that if you didn't have the opportunity to scrap and participate in the D-lish Scraps' 5th Birthday Bonanza cyber crop challenges over the weekend, that you still can. You have until midnight AEST on Monday 14th July 2014 to upload your entries. So get scrapping!!

Challenge no. 7 was a colour challenge by Wendy Smith.

This was another challenge I left until the end to do. I don't do primary colours. There's just something about them that I find so uninspiring. Softer versions of the colours aren't the problem, its when they're bold or mid tones, and then when you put them together? Well that's when I start to sweat it LOL!

Dylan

This was my end result! Its not my favourite layout of all time LOL, and I think I may have gone just a little overboard with my current and long term favourite stamp (Prima Stitched Circles). That said though, I don't think it turned out that bad after all!

I used the following D-lish Scraps embellishment when creating this layout .. Freckled Fawn Enamel Dew DropsFreckled Fawn Wood Chips (Birds), Navajo Arrows and Geotags Colourblock Veneers from Pinkfresh StudioWashi Tape, Arrow Word Tabs and Hello Cards Journal ItsFlair Buttons from the Geometrics Navy/Teal/Yellow pack, Wooden Veneer Love Arrow, a white DaisyRambling Roses, and Sweet Petites.

Thanks for the inspiration Wendy and for pushing me so far outside my comfort zone!

D-lish Scraps 5th Birthday Bonanza .. Challenge No. 5 by Leanne

As mentioned in my earlier post, even if you didn't have time to scrap any of the D-lish Scraps' 5th Birthday Bonanza cyber crop challenges over the weekend, you have until midnight AEST on Monday 14th July 2014 to upload your entries. So get scrapping!!

Challenge no. 5 was a recipe challenge set by Leanne Nankervis.

I nearly died when I read Leanne's recipe .. it only allowed for three flowers! Three flowers!!!! What was this flower junkie going to do?

Family

I did it! I created a layout with only three flowers .. and I love it!! I used the following D-lish Scraps embellishments on this layout .. a Silk & Organza Mini Heirloom Flower, Aster and Rambling Rose flowers, Washi Tape, Navajo Arrows and Geotags Colourblock Veneers by Pinkfresh Studio, a Chipboard Heart and Chipboard Arrows (Family/Laugh/Love), Freckled Fawn Wood Chips (Birds), a Freckled Fawn Paper Clip, a Flair Button from the Click Click pack, Cotton Twine and a Wooden Veneer Love Arrow.

Thanks for the inspiration Leanne. I might have to challenge myself to create with only three flowers again!

D-lish Scraps 5th Birthday Bonanza .. Challenge No. 4 by Agnus

I hope you were you able to participate in D-lish Scraps' 5th Birthday Bonanza cyber crop over the weekend. A lot of fun was had by all and even if you didn't have the opportunity to scrap any of the challenges on the weekend, they're not due to be linked up until midnight AEST on Monday 14th July 2014 so you still have plenty of time to perhaps scrap the challenges that sing your name and be in with a chance to win some fabulous prizes!

Myself? I had a fantastic weekend .. a three day scrap-a-thon with my girlfriend Sandy and other friends coming and going. It was brilliant. I was thrilled beyond thrilled LOL to actually finish all the challenges. They were all soooooo fabulous I really wanted to do them all. And I did! Yay for me!

I must confess I left Agnus' challenge to last. Once upon a time I wouldn't scrap with anything but bright, bold colours. Lately though that's changed. Needless to say I was dreading tackling Agnus' challenge LOL! I'm so glad I did though because this was the result!!!

Oh happy day

I found that with the background I had created, I didn't want to add any patterned paper and wanted to keep my embellishments minimal. I wanted the background and the photos to have maximum impact. The D-lish Scraps embellishments I did use include .. a Flair Button from the Click Click pack, Geotags and Navajo Arrows Colourblock Veneers from Pinkfresh StudioWooden Veneer flower buttons, Resin flowers, and Chalk Folded Banners Journal Its.

Thanks a million trillion times over for the inspiration Agnus!

Mack .. by Kathie Davis

Kathie is on fire!!!! This queen of cards friend of mine has now done her third layout for the D-lish Scraps 5th Birthday Bonanza! This time Kathie has been inspired by Challenge No. 6 set by Ros. Ros created an uber cool Bingo card from which you could select any row .. horizontal, diagonal, vertical .. and you had to include the items in your selected row on your page. I loved this challenge and I think Kathie has done a great job with hers!

Mack

Kathie was, funnily enough, inspired by the same row that I was .. the bottom one which included wood veneer, a banner, more than one photo, twine and polka dots. I think she's created a brilliant layout which I am just so thrilled to share with you on my (LOL) blog!

Oh and Kathie's used some wood veneers from D-lish Scraps on her layout so will have earned herself another ticket in the major prize draw. Good luck Kathie!

Here's to you .. by Kathie Davis

I have another layout from my friend Kathie to share for the D-lish Scraps 5th Birthday Bonanza. Kathie created this gorgeous layout using Challenge No. 2 which was a sketch challenge by Kylie Cornish.

Here's to you

I love the way Kathie has created her page with so much detail but also so minimalist!! My hat goes off to you Kathie. I hope you'll keep scrapping because your pages have been beautiful!

D-lish Scraps 5th Birthday Bonanza .. Challenge No. 6 by Ros

I'm having such a fun time this weekend celebrating D-lish Scraps 5th birthday! This is the layout I created for Ros' Bingo challenge. I've not done a Bingo challenge before and loved, loved, loved it! I'm tempted to have a go at doing all the combinations possible, but then I'd need a another me to do all the 'not fun' stuff whilst I did the scrapping!

Anyways, I went with the bottom row which was .. Wood Veneer, Banner, More than one photo, Twine and Polka Dots.

A reason to smile

These Boots .. by Kathie Davis

So my girlfriend Kathie (over in SA) is scrapping this weekend which is a huuuuuge deal because Kathie is the queen of cards!! But to participate in the D-lish Scraps 5th Birthday Bonanza Kathie has stepped way outside her box and created this gorgeous layout for the first challenge .. the scraplift challenge by Tarrah McLean.

These boots

Kathie was inspired by Tarrah's photo of shoes and has used a Freckled Fawn Wood Chip from the arrows pack. As Kathie doesn't have a blog I'm delighted to share her gorgeous layout on mine. Uber well done Kathie .. I love your layout! I hope you'll find a little more time to perhaps do another challenge or two.

D-lish Scraps 5th Birthday Bonanza .. Challenge No. 3 by Alz

Its my turn to play pass the challenge LOL!!! (Well it was yesterday afternoon but time got away with me whilst scrapping the other challenges. Oops LOL!) Anyways here's my D-lish Scraps 5th Birthday Bonanza .. Challenge No. 3! Something nice and easy .. a product challenge!

Given I have a healthy addiction to the variety of flowers sold in store it seemed to make sense for me to create a challenge based around flowers!

Smile

Before I begin with the flowers I've used on this layout, let me tell you about the other products I've used .. Flair Buttons from the Duly Noted pack, a large Felt Doily from the brown pack, a black canvas Pick 'n' Place Bow, Kraft/Black Cotton Twine which I unravelled, a small Kraft Bag, a medium kraft Shipping Tag, a Wood Veneer umbrella (love these!!), Micros Mixed Chevron Chipboard and a PVC Doily.

Now to the flowers .. AstersRambling RosesSweet Petites all of which are new in store, a white DaisyCosmos DaisiesCherry Blossoms and Mini Metal Flowers. Wow LOL that's seven different types of flowers and yet my layout doesn't look overloaded by flowers. I think that's one of the reasons I like to use a variety of flowers.

To participate in the 5th Birthday Bonanza you can find all the challenges (as they go up) HERE, where to link your challenge entries HERE, and the rules for playing along HERE. I hope you'll join us as we party all weekend long!   :)

PS: If you check out the challenges link you'll find that a couple of challenges have already gone live.

D-lish Scraps 5th Birthday Bonanza .. Challenge No. 2 by Kylie

Are we having fun yet? The first challenge went up earlier today and now its time for the sketch challenge by Kylie.

I had a lot of fun with the sketch. It had just enough detail to make it really interesting, but not so much that it wasn't wide open for interpretation.

Free

I created a soft floral background for my layout in place of the spotty dots and used muslin where the chevron patterned paper is. I didn't use any buttons but scattered some flowers around and went with the chevron shapes. My title is exactly where it is supposed to be LOL and as I didn't have three photos for this particular layout I played around with some die-cut frames. I'm really happy with how it all came together!

Thanks a million for the inspiration Kylie!

Now to the D-lish Scraps products I've used .. purple Hand Dyed Muslin, Bitty BloomsFreckled Fawn Dew Drops (Arrows), Micros chipboard (Mixed Chevrons), Flair Buttons from the 2014 Script Words Watercolour pack, and a geotag Pinkfresh Studio Colourblock Veneer.

D-lish Scraps 5th Birthday Bonanza .. Challenge No. 1 by Tarrah!

Happy birthday to you
Happy birthday to you
Happy birthday D-lish Scraps
Happy birthday to you

So today kicks off the start of D-lish Scraps' 5th Birthday Bonanza. A weekend long of cyber crop challenges, games, prizes, and spot sales. The first challenge is a scraplift one by Tarrah McLean.

I was inspired by a lot of the elements of Tarrah's layout including the chevron background and the way everything is all sort of layered and clustered in the middle. Fabulously fun!

What?!

Don't you just love his glasses? LOL! I was fossicking around in my wood veneer stash and thought I'd 'try them on for size' so to speak and couldn't resist using them, they made me laugh too much not to! I'm not sure what my Bearsie would say if he could talk but I think its fun!

I really, really enjoyed scraplifting Tarrah's clean, minimalist look with this layout. Yet at the same time I managed to squeeze more than just a few D-lish Scraps embellishments on there including .. Washi Tape, a variety of Journal Its .. Arrow Word Tabs, Arrow Word Tabs Polka Dot, Arrow Word Tabs Woodgrain, Chalk Bubble Words and Tab Bags Kraft Sayings .. black Wood Veneer Glasses, dark Wooden Star ButtonsFlair Buttons from the Duly Noted pack, a camera Freckled Fawn paper clip, and a black and white bag from the Rainbox Mix Horizontal Stripe pack.

Thanks for the fabulous inspiration Tarrah!!
