I almost missed it....

Whew...I almost missed posting for this little challenge over at Lawnscaping! I got so caught up in making 30 baby shower invitations that I completely ran out of time!! I finally set that stuff aside and came up with a design last night...slept on it, still loved it and put it together at 5 o'clock this morning...

I just LOVE the colors in this picture, so that's what I based my card on. I've been feelin' the red & chocolate color combo ever since a little Thanksgiving card I made for a friend a couple of weeks ago...so happy I have a reason to put them together again!
I opted to leave the bike uncolored, I originally colored it in and had to peel it back off the card. WOO-HOO for removable tape runners!! It was just to distracting colored in. I just love the rich velvety glitter ribbon...YUM!

Hope you like it and don't forget to check out the other cards in the challenge!!

Embossed Christmas Holly

I'm sure that by now ya'll know about this little DeNami sketch challenge....

As I said in my other post, I actually created not one card, not two cards, but 4...That just had to be whittled down! After a lot of thinking and changing my mind every five minutes I decided to do what any normal sane person would do...eenie meenie miney moe!

Here's the second card...
I stamped the large holly using a pretty green ink by Memento then traced it with my versa mark pen, clear embossed it and colored it in.Since I didn't have any rhinestones that matched, I made my own using crystal lacquer and cranberry glitter.

N95 large holly
PF02 classic christmas stamp set
PF37 elegant leaf stamp set
N26 Christmas script
SS12 cranberry glitter
CL01 crystal lacquer

elegent purple flower...

We all know how much I LOVE me some DeNami stamps...Throw in a sketch challenge and I'm bouncing off the walls happy!! WOOT!

One of the uber talented DT gals, Amber, came up with this sketch for us. Ohhh the possibilities!!
I actually came up with 4 cards...UGGGG decisions decisions! I finally narrowed it down to 2. here's my first submission.
I heart purple and kraft together. I think it's probably my favorite color combo.
I really wanted the border, flower and bow to take center stage so I used a super pale purple ink for the stamping and added glossy accents to the flower after I colored it in. The little strip of ribbon peeking out from under the flower panel actually peeks out from the top too, but the bow is hiding it. I had intended for the bow to go at the top of the panel with the ribbon showing...like a hanging picture, but you know me...in the end I just had to place it like this!

Hope you liked it and thanks for dropping by!

Friends Warm My Heart...

If you read my blog, then you know that Cath over Moxie Fab World is celebrating the new 365 Cards publication with some AWESOME challenges. This one is for the Pay It Forward challenge.

This little card was a challenge in itself...the whole thing is paper pieced right down to the tiny scarf on the little bird and the snowman's stick arms!!

I wanted this card to have a lot of dimension....
You can't really see it, but there are silver snowflakes on the banner and the sky & snow have an iridescent sheen. I ran the "snow" through a cuttlebug before I spritzed it with a shimmer spray then free hand cut the snow drifts. I added foam tape here and there under the snow and under the head of the larger snowman so it wouldn't lay too flat.

Say Cheese...

Moxie Fab is truly celebrating the new 365 Cards publication in style...Cath has given us challenge after challenge...WHAT FUN!!!! This one, or two in this case is "Celebrating Hobbies" and the "Celebrating Relationships" challenges.

Lawn Fawn has the cutest camera / Polaroid stamp...I just knew it would be perfect.
I really do take TONS of pictures of Moe...he's such a ham and will actually pose!
I wanted to keep the background simple and decided on some simple paper strips in a subtle color. I carried the patterned paper over to the camera by paper piecing the 2 bottom panels and the little strip where the picture shoots out. I added some glossy accents to the flash and camera lens for a glass effect. I used a cream cardstock for the Polaroid then distressed it with vintage sepia ink and added a sentiment. Hope you liked it!

A lawnscape thanks

Ohh my gosh...down to the wire on submitting for this Lawnscaping challenge. I've had the card made since Sunday...just not enough hours in my day!!
This time around we say a big thanks to someone in our life...there are several people I can think of that I'd like to send a big thanks to. I wanted to make a little scene of a friend helping out another friend....in this case the bigger snowman is helping the little one off the log. It brings to mind how my hubby would hold our sons hand while he hoped up on stuff and jumped off....*sigh* missing those innocent days of his youth...now he's all grown up and I wish I could still hold his hand! Guess as a parent, we never get over that.

I used a white card base and layered it with a shimmery light blue then another white panel on top. I added chalk for the blue sky and pieced in the snowmen that I added a shimmer to.

Hope you liked it :)

DeNami Anything But A Card Blog Hop

Hi everyone and welcome to the most interesting blog hop I've ever seen / been in...Anything But A Card!!! Ohhh my gosh...I simply can not wait to hop along and see what everyone has done!! Seriously...could this theme be any more awesome??? And as a bonus...I can get ideas for handmade Christmas presents...WOOT!

You should have arrived here from Wendy Elliot's blog...If you didn't, just head on back to DeNami Design's blog ta get back on track. Don't forget to leave those comments gals...DeNami Design is giving away two $20 gift certificates to two randomly picked people that have left comments along the hop, you have till November 14th @ 11:59pm PST!! So be sure to leave everyone a little love….we bloggers live for your comments and besides, who wouldn’t be excited about the possibility of winning a DeNami Design gift certificate??

I can't believe Paulina has me following Wendy Elliot of all people...PRESSURE!!! Gosh I really admire everything she's done and know that what she's created for this hop will be over the top...let's just pretend that I'm not following someone as awesome as her shall we??? Ackkkk!

I had such a hard time deciding what to make...there are so many ideas I have and want to try out!! In the end I decided to do a little redecorating in my bedroom and here's what I came up with....
(Pay no attention to Raggedy Ann, my aunt made her when I was little, she's just hanging out on the quilt rack staying outta trouble ;)) I'm sure ya'll have heard of the "I spy" games, let's play a round...how many DeNami products can you find??

Here's the answer....

I just L O V E those fancy boxes you see every where, but have you seen what their going for...it's insane, that would cut into my DeNami stamp budget and we can't have that!

White Box: The white box was a little slick and was tough to stamp. It doesn't show in the picture, but I stamped the large dot swirl in light pink all over then stamped the leaf vine over it.

Round Kraft Box: The round craft box is my favorite. I started out with white cardstock and since I love the purple / kraft color combo I cut my papers a little smaller than the box and even edge punched the bands around the lid and bottom.

Candle Set: I made this set using my favorite floral collection (unfortunately the hydrangea background stamp isn't available on the DeNami site anymore )

Wooden Tissue Box: this was an unfinished wooden tissue box holder from the craft store...I painted it white and stamped my "go to" lilac stamp then simply colored it in like I normaly would.

Now off you go to visit with Rochelle Washington. I was just there the other day and WOW, her style is awesome...such pretty cards!! I can't wait to see what she has up her sleeve for us!

pssst...if ya wanna steal my InLinkz code so you can list your supplies like this, it's on my sidebar ;)

Pretty Pink Roses

Here's my second submission for the sketch challenge over at Lilly Pad Cards. I wanted a feminine / Victorian look. Hubby took one look at it and said it looked...how did he put it, trying to remember his exact words...old wall paper and too girly. I guess that means what I was going for was achieved??
I wanted the stamps and bow to stand out as my focal point so I used pink on pink for the sentiment and to tone down the white panel I stamped on, I brushed it with the same light pink chalk I dusted the Prima rose with. Hope you liked it!

Purple Hydrangea

So there's this sketch challenge and a totally awesome texture challenge going on over at Lilly Pad Cards. And if you know me, you know that I'm a sucker for a good sketch and I love layers and texture! I only managed to make 2 cards for the sketch challenge thanks to me just not having any time...ugggg, story of my life these days and it's just gonna get worse with the holidays right around the corner!  Maybe if I gave up sleep...it's over rated...right??
Well, here's the first one I did, it's actually for both challenges. I hope to get more made up for the texture challenge before it's deadline (fingers are crossed lol)!
I wanted to keep it kinda simple so the embossed background would stand out. I added glitter to the flower petals and leaves then added a pearl pen to the flowers to give them a raised shiny center.
