WFRP: iAltdorf update 1.2

Today one of the most significant updates to the iAltdorf map is revealed to the public! I've gone out on a limb here and added a completely new layer called Elevation. My hope is that this will add a new dimension to the map and encourage people to look at Altdorf as being a three dimensional place rather than a flat surface.

I've also revised the Reiksport area so take a look at that. Please note that I am still operatin under the WFRpv2 assumptions on population. I don't know if that will change as more info is gathered, but I suspect that some changes will be made ... such as removing the refugee camp outside the North Gate, or at least turning it into a market of some sort.

Again thanks to Alexander Bateman, and also to Jackdays who runs the excellent Kalevala Hammer site. I also would like to extend a thank you to everyone who has contacted me about the map, and if you are expecting a reply, please get back to me again! My mailbox is stuffed with mail from work, so I might miss a mail, or forget about replying!

Especially nagging is a mail I can't find offering advice on what's beneath the sewers! Please get back to me, if you recognise that.

Now go check out the new version of the map!

WFRP: iAltdorf update 1.11

After a good long while I've done some work on the iAltdorf map and I hereby release version 1.11 of the iAltdorf map. This time, I have mostly added new stuff from various sources, and made some tweakings to the spreadsheet. Explore and give me feedback!

One thing I especially want feedback on is the placement of Reiksport. I'm not entirely happy with my choice, but see it as a logical place for a port to grow up outside of Altdorf, close to the protection of the walls. Comments on that?

This release also has Alexander Bateman, a.k.a Jadrax, to thank for many of the locations. He's supplied me with even more locations, and there are plenty still to be extacted from Shades of Empire, so the next release should not have to wait another year or so!

Now go check out the new version of the map!

WFRP: iAltdorf service now resumed

After being contacted by fellow WFRP gamer Hans, I discovered that the download links to the iAltdorf map were still pointing at the website of my company Houdini, instead of my own private domain.

So for at least a month or so, the links have been dead (that's when we did the server reorganistion at work, and I moved my blog material to my own domain ... or so I thought).

Anyways, the map is now available again! Nothing has changed since version 1.10, but it's still a damn good map.

Thanks for the help, Hans!

Update: Mysterious posts

Just a short post to explain the mysterious appearance and disappearance of posts that sometimes occur at The Altdorf Correspondent. It's very simple; sometimes I'm sloppy. Blogger has recently added a feature that lets me schedule posts, so that I can keep ahead of the busy schedule of blogging, and also keep a steady flow of posts on the blog. It works great! Unless I forget to use the draft version of Blogger, or if I put in the wrong date. Which happened today, as I was working on a Best of the Fans entry.

So I pull down the offending post as fast as I can ... but ... those of you reading my blog via a feed still get to keep my mistakenly published missive. So if you wonder "what the heck was that post about?" or "where did it go?", then rest assured that it will appear sooner or later, when it's due to be published.

As a celebration of my first year of writing The Altdorf Correspondent, I hereby release version 1.10 of the iAltdorf map. This time, I have done some major restructuring which most of you won't notice, but also added a completely new sewer layer! So check out the new version of the map!

WFRP: iAltdorf updated to version 1.01

I sat down and made some updates to iAltdorf. The latest version is now 1.01. There are no major changes, but I added a score of locations, fixed some errors on the map, and created a few more layers.

Go here for the download page!

Now you'll have to wait a while for the next update, probably a month or more, depending on if my scenario goes through to the next round in Black Industries' scenario competition. But I'm sure you'll find plenty of use for the map even so.

Update

After feedback and clarifications from my good friend and expert Nils-Erik Fahlvik as to how the gun that Nuln by Night was based on works, I have pulled it from the site for updating. Basically what I'm going to do is add two other weapon qualities called Volley and Big Bang, and remove the Multiple Barrels quality. I hope to have it updated by tomorrow.

UPDATE: Ok, the new version is up. See below for a fresh take on Nuln by Night!

What's the weather like?

I have added a weather gizmo to the blog! A little bit down the left side you can see the forecast for the weather in real-life Altdorf, Germany. If you want a more detailed view, click the link by the forecast for more info. Note that this will take you to the www.wetter.com site!

Update to Garibaldi and Fahber

Those of you who downloaded the write up of Grim Garibaldi and Thomas Fahber might want to download them again. I've corrected two mistakes I discovered while creating the stats. Grim Garibaldi didn't have the bonus to S that his Very Strong talent gives him and Fahber had a skill misspelled.

Update to Matthias Tafel

Those of you who downloaded the write up of Matthias Tafel from 7 January might want to download it again. I've corrected two mistakes I discovered while creating Fat Pappy Brown. Nothing game breaking, just Haggle that was duplicated, and a full stop that should have been a comma.

UPDATE: And yes, I have now corrected a spelling mistake in the write up of Martin Braun as well. "Palying" indeed!

What to say, I'm keeping up with the WFRP tradition of typus!
