Steve Mono

oscar

I've been looking for the perfect briefcase for as long as I can remember but the wait is now over. As if they were able to read my mind, the people at Steve Mono have done exactly what I wished for. The bags are carefully made in Spain with an exquisite leather and are inspired by "vintage photos, books or movies" from the 50's and 60's.

By the way, I've been interviewed by the people at shopaholic. You can see my answers here scrolling down a bit.

Vanport Outfitters

bag

I have what it could be defined as a love-hate relationship with bags. On one hand, I believe what it is said that they can make or break an outfit.I like them a lot in others, but with me the thing is different. I can't find one I really like; they are either too serious or too shabby. There's no happy medium. However, that changed when I saw the picture above at This is Naive. I could daydream about being a cabin boy who is about to be shipped overseas.

OK now the question is: where can I find something like this? Well, the answer came a couple of days ago, when by pure chance, I saw that they sell something similar at Le Train Bleu. The bag is called The Laurent Sauvé, "named after the French Dairyman who in 1839 was sent by the Hudson's Bay Company to the Portland Island that now bares his name." Bags with history...that's what I want.

Favoritisimos: Chanel 2.55

chanel 2.55

My Chanel 2.55. Such a classic. It was named, as you probably already know, after the date it was created: February 1955. Coco sougth to create a versatile bag that gave women freedom of movement. Success has followed this purse since its birth and due to its timelessness it has become an -obscure- object of desire.

Vivier

la tropézienne

Don't be fooled by the title; this post is not about Roger Vivier, I am going to talk about Clare Vivier, a french journalist who started to design her bags as a result of being unable to find anything that suited her needs. Her top priorities are quality and simplicity, which turns her products into classic, timeless objects.
