Just a Note...

Good morning! I got a few new dies from Frantic Stamper and wanted to share a fun one with you today!! I pulled out this beautiful card panel--it is called the Quaterfoil Card Panel. Isn't it lovely!?

I also used my Monarch Butterfly die.

I sent the quaterfoil card panel through my big shot and kept all the pieces in tact--I added a piece of scrap paper from my printer to the back of the panel to keep them all nicely in place. I LOVE that look...

I pulled out some pretty papers and added a few stripes. The I used a pretty sentiment to help dress this card up! I ran my monarch butterfly through the big shot with some foiled paper from DCWV, and oh, it's so lovely!! I layered the butterfly on a doily, that I fussy cut from some patterend paper, and there is also a vellum doily behind that, for a bit of soft texture!! A few gold dots from Doodlebug, and there you have it!!

I am linking this card up the to current Simon Says Challenge, Clean and Simple!!

I hope your day is great---have a great Monday!!

Sending Prayers

Good morning!! Happy Saturday to you all! Saturday means a new Retro Sketch!! The card that inspired this weeks sketch is this one, from Laurie!  Isn't it a fun one!? So, here is this weeks sketch

And here is my card!

I used my new Avery Elle pigment inks. I have to say, I am totally NOT a fan of most pigment inks. In fact I haven't used any very often because they always smear and make a mess of my stamps! Well, I am happy to report that I LOVE the Avery Elle pigment inks! They are divine! Great colors, wonderful formulation that says wet--but not too wet-just long enough. The color stacks great...they are really great!! I would definitely recommend them! I used a heidi swapp diagonal stencil and some black soot distress ink for my little back ground. Since I made my own background, I decided to link up to the Simon Says Stamp Challenge for the week, "making your own background." I am also playing along with the AEIHeart Challenge, CAS! My stamps are Avery Elle. I added a sprinkle of gold sequins and just a touch of gold thread.
This week has been super emotional and a bit heavy. I lost a dear friend last Friday morning, and today is her funeral. I made this card to send to her family...I see them a lot, they live quite close to me, and we go to church together...and I am challenging myself to get a card in the mail to them for many weeks to come. Their mom/wife died too young and oh, how she will be missed. She was one of my friends that found my card in her mailbox often and she always told me how much they meant to her...and how thankful she was that I took the time to fill her mailbox....so I will continue to fill her mailbox and tell her family just how much I loved their wonderful Momma!!

Our time is precious, hold your dear ones tight today and make today the best one yet!! Thanks a bundle for stopping by!!

Hello!

Good morning friends! I hope you are having a great week, Thursday already...time is flying by! Happy May Day to you all!! I can't believe that it is MAY! My little baby will be here in just 14 short days!! I have been looking forward to this month for SO long...can't believe it is finally here!!!

Yesterday was a WONDERFUL sunny day in Seattle! We were at 80 degrees, jumping on the trampoline with swimsuits and sprinklers, eating smoothie pops and enjoying the sunshine!

Today I have a happy sort of card to share, one that my 6 year old Ruby has told me is her, "most favorite card" I have ever made!! She is sweet but we had a lot of fun on this one!!
I started with a large 12x12 Heidi Swapp sunburst stencil, and some distress inks. After the sunbeams were colored, I added some PTI clouds. They have been properly made into shimmery glitter clouds and a couple of them are popped up with foam adhesive. My hello, is from Lawn Fawn. I cut it out about 5 or 6 times with white cardstock. The last one I left in the negative space while I added the rainbow color, with distress inks as well. After I adhered the dies all together, and added it to the card, I applied a thick coat of glossy accents to make it shine!! It is very shiny in real life...you just need to run your fingers all over it (or so says Ruby!).

I am linking this card over to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge, featuring Lawn Fawn products!:) I hope you have a great day!! Take care, hopefully you will get a chance to enjoy the sunshine in your part of the world today!!

You float my boat!!

Good morning friends! Hello and how are you!? I've been having a crazy mom week--I went out of town last weekend and have been playing catch up/etc. all week! I had a great weekend with my sisters, mom, aunties, and loads of cousins!! It was wonderful and just what I needed!!

Today is the GRS design team challenge! We were challenged to make masculine cards today. I decided to go with an oldie, but so goodie!! The Things That Go stamp set is such a fun one! I LOVE this little tug boat! I also have to admit, I used to say this all the time...so I really do love it to pieces!!
I used some fun Echo Park paper, and used the Sweet Sunday Sketch 159 for my layout. I turned the sketch a bit on it's side...I have to say how much I love these happy colors! Isn't that stripe paper to die for!? I've got the perfect little guy in mind for this card...yea!!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Be sure to take a peek at the other GRS girls blogs today, they always have some fun to share on challenge days!! Take care, and thanks so much for being patient with me while I was away...I intended to get some posts done, but they just didn't get there!! Take care and make it a great one!!

A cheery sort of day...

Good morning friends! I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to pop in yesterday...you know how it goes sometimes, right!? But, I'm back at it today! I had a bit of fun...I picked up a recent order of new goods, from dear Ellen on Friday. I have to tell you, love that girl! She is so fun! She is sweet, caring and she makes my kids feel so good! My little 4 year old Ruby said, "oh, mom! I love coming here!" when we pulled into the parking lot of Ellen's store...the whole bit makes my heart happy!!

So, I had to bust out some of my new paper...I LOVE polkas, those of you that have been around a while know that...right!? So, you won't be at all surprised at my LOVE for this Echo Park Dots and Stripes paper! The colors are delicious, the patterns to die for...it's perfection in a 6x6 pack!

I chose to use my Rosie Posie stamps from PTI. I LOVE that stamp set! I think these will be some of my most well loved floral stamps! They are just perfect--not to mention the fact that the coordinating dies always make things so much easier!! The sentiment is from the Hello Friend stamp set. So, I pulled out some Pure Poppy, Aqua Mist and Simply Chartreuse ink from PTI, and Crushed Curry ink from SU. Can we say that this combination of colors makes me happy!? And that paper...such happiness inside!!  I also used my Mat Stack 4, Circle border and Banner Builder dies.

I used Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketch #154 for my layout. I always love her sketches, I don't always post to her site/thus playing along with the challenge...but I know if I'm in a rut and need some inspiration, Karen's SSS always get me out of that rut! I am a huge fan of her work..she really rocks! I'm happy to be able to play along with her challenge this week!

I hope you have a great day!! We did get a chance to still a few moments of joy out on the trampoline yesterday, my little Max was in pure heaven outside...he stands at the sliding door with his head pressed against the glass just waiting for the rain to stop...here's hoping to a little burst of sunshine to head our way!

Take care and see you soon! Make it great!

Happy Birthday!

Good afternoon and almost evening friends! I'm in denial that it is 4:21 as I type this...wow, today has flown by! I wanted to share a fun little birthday card, my supply of birthday wishes is non existant, so I'm got a fire under me to get a little stock pile!

I saw the Sweet Sunday Sketch challenge, #56 and laughed, as I had just written a sketch just like this in my book! So, here is my take on the challenge, you can find the orginal sketch here.
I started by making a white card base, then a layer of chocolate chip paper. I used some retired SU paper, the upper right and lower left pieces. Then a new slice of heaven, the polka dots are from the new Letterpress line from American Crafts. I tied a nice bow around the center of the card, and added a little button.

I stamped my little cupcake and sentiment, which are from the Lizzie Anne Sixlet set, Banner Birthday. I stamped the cupcake twice, once onto my white paper, then again on my polka dot paper so I could paper piece the cupcake paper-to match perfectly! I colored the frosting in with a pink copic, then added some pink sparky fluff. I also colored the candle with a green copic. I mounted the cupcake onto some chocolate chip cardstock and then mounted that to my card with dimensional foam.

Hope you're having a great one! My kids go back to school tomorrow, so I think we'll get back into the groove tomorrow! It's amazing how a few days break from school throws us for some crazy days! Take care and thanks so much for stopping by!
