I'm BACK!! - Celebrate Shaker Card

Thursday, January 17, 2019
Hi all, I'm back! It has been a long hiatus since my disappearance back in September last year, can't believe it's more than four months since my last post. If you are wondering what we are up to it's because we were in the process of moving! It was not easy to get everything back to routine, my kids need to change schools and many other things to touch up around the house. As a matter of fact, I'm still unpacking boxes after moving in two months ago. And I had just set up my small craft station last week so I get to start crafting again, yay!! (Still having difficulty finding my supplies!)

I made a couple of cards with the new craft table hubby got me for Christmas, I told him new things always inspire me. LOL. Here is one of the cards I made. I'm so glad Crafter's Companion has finally came out with their version of "torn panel" background die, love the trendy look! I colored the background using Spectrum Noir Aqua Markers in rainbow colors and create a shaker cards with it. I  filled each panel with unique sequins, I think it makes the card pops out even more. The sentiment is from one of the Gemini's Expression dies called Celebrate, it was on HSN last week!

Here is the list of supplies I used:
- Gemini Junior Machine
- Gemini Create-a-Card Background Die (Torn Panel)
- Gemini Expressions Everyday Sentiment Die (Celebrate)
- Spectrum Noir Aqua Markers
- Crafter's Companion Watercolor Cardstock
- Varieties of Sequins

Luminary Box For Creativation Last Week

Monday, January 29, 2018
Creativation was over last week and I wish I could be there with other of "my" (crafty) people. Often not many people gets why we do what we do, only we who enjoy it truly understand the joy it offers. Most of them time our hobby is perceived as time-wasting but to us it's actually fulling, therapeutic, aspiring in our life. Anyway, hope someday I'd be able to reunite with all crafty people out there!

I made this luminary box for the convention, which you could probably see it in some pictures posted on Crafter's Companion FB. I hot glued a tea light to the bottom of the box leaving the switch on the outside so it can be turned on and off easily. The pattern on the top was colored with Spectrum Noir Aqua Markers (one of the best watercolor markers ever!).

Sheena's Beautiful Destinations Stamp Set

Saturday, January 20, 2018
I've always like motivational or inspirational quotes and Sheena has came up with the perfect stamps I'd been looking for. From now on I can craft with my favorite quotes and send them to ones I hold close to my heart (other than my super awesome best friend hubby, I have a BFF who lives far across the globe and I think she would appreciate something like this like I do).

Don't you just love the hot balloon, I think I could do better with the coloring though (shading and all). The sentiment/title at the bottom is from the same stamp set! I used some cloud dies to create the stenciled background and love how it turned out.

Btw, have you heard? Crafter's Companion is coming on HSN again in March 7th! It's so exciting, all the DT members are working on the beautiful projects now to share with you soon. Hang on tight and mark the calendar so you won't miss the show!

Hey Santa!

Sunday, December 3, 2017
It's the month of the season and it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Here I am sharing one of the holidays cards I made to join the countdown spirit! I created this card using Sheena's embossing folder named "Hey Santa!" on a watercolor cardstock and then colored it with sparkle markers! To make the Santa stand out from the overall design I simply outlined it with black Aqua marker and left the inside blank. For a complete list of supplies used, please see end of post.

I hope stay around for the next couple of weeks before Christmas so I can share more Chrstimas projects with you! I update my Instagram pretty regularly so don't forget to follow me there! My IG handle is alias alexia_teh. Hope to see you there and thanks for stopping by!

Rock On Card With Groovin' 60

Thursday, May 18, 2017
Sharing a card created using Sheena's Groovin' 60's collection stencils and Just For Men collection stamps set. Loving the 60's feel? This collection is for you then. I typically like the shadow's stamp set of the board skater and the birthday sentiments that come with the set. It's so groovy and beautiful. Check out this other project I made with other Groovin' 60's stencil here and another card here using the stamps set, you get what I mean now? It's just too cute to pass on!

The stencils are great for creating backgrounds for cards, scrapbook layout or even mixed media canvas! I decided to use it as card background by tracing the shape of the stencil's patterns on a watercolor cardstock using Spectrum Noir Aqua Markers and fill in the rest of the traced area with the same markers but using the brush nib this time instead of the fine nib which I used for tracing. Lastly I stamped the board skater image in black over the colored flowers.

Supplies:

- Just For Men Collection Stamp (Street Wise)

Wartercoloring with Spectrum Noir Aqua

Monday, February 20, 2017
Enjoy coloring this Groovin' 60's stamp set by Sheena Douglass using Spectrum Noir Aqua markers. This stamp set is perfect for making cards for best friends, sisters or cousins! I have always wanted to have this type of stamp thus I'm overjoyed that Crafter's Companion now carries them!

This watercolor markers work like your regular watercolor paints and brush but instead it's combined into one convenient marker (mess free!). You are still able to add water as desired to the colored image to dilute the color for the lighter area. Follow Crafter's Companion Facebook or blog for many different techniques use with these markers.

Here is one of the projects I created with part of the collection...it's a two-page bookmark. It's useful when you need a reference back to the previous page which I think is particularly essential for students.

One Layer Water Colored Card

Monday, November 9, 2015
Happy Monday! I'm back today to share another card with you. It's a water colored card and to be honest with you I have not been water coloring for awhile now so it was really fun to play with my new Spectrum Aqua water color markers from Crafter's Companion.

I also have been playing with the Ultimate Tool from CC, it's a 10 in 1 tool which allows you to emboss, make bows, boxes, envelopes, paper trimming, to name a few. I made a gift boxes with it and I will share with you soon in a few days! It's very convenient tool and I'm thankful to get it for free for being part of the DT. I can make so many things with it! You can take a look at the details about the tool here --> Ultimate Tool. I can't wait to show you what I make with you with it!

For now, lets take a look at the water colored... for those of you who haven't try out the Aqua markers, it's something you might want to consider. I love it, you can color it right on the water color paper, add water or you can scribble on a non-stick craft mat and add water to it (that's how I like to do it). The maple leaf is from a cut out washi sheet and used as masking sticker. The background is colored first, let dry then peel off the masking sticker and color the leaf.

I hope you like the card, try it out and who knows you might like it. :) I like the effect of the water color, smooth transition from one color to another. Here is the list of products I used for the card.

Products Used:
- Crafter’s Companion Water Colour Card Stock- Die’Sire Sentimental EZMount Stamp Set- Nature- Spectrum Aqua Markers (Gold, Olive, Yellow, Burgundy, Orange, Moss)- Ribbon- Butterfly wood veneer

Thank you again for your time! I hope you have a wonderful day, happy crafty day too!
