December Giveaway Winner- Happy cottage Quilter!

The RNG has sellected the winner of the lavender sachets..... The Happy Cottage Quilter!  She has 2 blogs- one called the Happy Cottage Quilter (about quilting and sewing) and one called Just a Little Southern Hospitality (about cooking, decorating and entertaining- and her wonderful teacup collection).  I just mush all of my posts into one blog but hers are super nicely organized into the 2 blogs.  They're both nice reads with lots of extras on the sidebars- check them out!

Congrats to the Happy Cottage Quilter and Happy New Year to everyone!  I'll have a new giveaway posted later this week.

July Giveaway Winner is.... Patty D from NC!

Congrats, Patty!  I hope you'll enjoy the Summer Brights fat quarter pack... coming your way!  I'll send you a private message to get your address and I'll have your pretty FQ's on their way lickity split!  Patty blogs at A Stitch In Time.  Check out her blog!

If you just HAVE to have some of these fabrics for yourself,..... you can purchase Fat Quarters or yardage off the bolt on my website.... HERE's the link.

Thanks to everyone who entered the giveaway.  It's great to have you reading along.  I try to reply to everyone who comments to one of my posts, as long as you aren't a "no reply blogger".  But there are so many people who enter giveaways, that I'm not able to reply to entries.  If you show up in the comments.... you're entered!

I've been SUPER busy for the last few weeks!  In addition to our quilt shop, we have a small lavender farm. Our yield for this harvest is exceeding my expectations- when we're finished cutting, we will have harvested over 2,000 bundles of lavender!  I'll post a new giveaway for August, and lots of photos of the lavender as soon as I catch my breath.

Congrats, again, Patty!!!

May winner and a New Giveaway for July!

Working on catching up....

I did award the May giveaway but never posted about it!  The little ruler and cutting mat went to Barbara from Newberg, Oregon.  I actually met Barbara once when she visited our quilt guild.  She a very nice lady, an outstanding quilter, and has one of the best blogs around.  Barbara blogs at Cat Patches.  Check it out!  In addition to being an avid quilter, she likes cats (as her blog name suggests).  She also likes cooking, gardening and photography.  I know she likes photography because she recently traveled to Ireland and attended the International Quilt Festival of Ireland while she was there.  My double wedding ring quilt was on display there and she has a picture of it on her blog (June 9, 2012 post).

Congrats, Barbara!

Lets do a fat quarter pack of some nice summer fabrics for the July giveaway.  These sell very well on my website.  They're a great addition to a stash!  The 6 fat quarters are from Timeless Treasures- nice fabrics.

To be entered in the drawing, just make a comment to THIS POST and tell me you want to be entered.  That's all!

For a second entry, if you are a follower of this blog (long time or brand new follower- it doesn't matter)... make a SECOND COMMENT to THIS POST and tell me that you are a follower.

For a third entry, spread the word.  You can post on FB, tweet, blog, or whatever.  Just spread the work about this giveaway and then come back and do a THIRD COMMENT to THIS POST and tell me about it.

And let's give a 4th entry this month if you're "friend" "Fans of Alderwood Quilts" on Facebook (link on sidebar).  Then do a FOURTH COMMENT to THIS POST and tell me that you friended the Alderwood Quilts Facebook page.

Why do I make you do all of this commenting for extra chances?  Because I use the number of comments to this post when I select a winner.  I put the total number of comments in the random number generator to select the winning comment.  Then- if the RNG selects number 100, for instance.... then the 100th comment wins the giveaway!

The winner will be selected on August 1st.  Good luck!

April Atkinson Pattern Giveaway Winner!!!

The trusty random number generator tells me that lucky number 31 wins the giveaway!  Congrats to Rebecca, who blogs at Our Busy Little Bunch.  I took a look at Rebecca's blog and I'm amazed at how productive she is!  Reading her blog reminds me of the days when I was a young mom with a lot more energy than I have now.  :-)

I'll send you an email Rebecca- you get to select any Atkinson Designs pattern on my website.

You just never know with random drawings (I once bought ONE raffle ticket and won a cruise!).  But Rebecca's chances were a little better in this giveaway because she sent me a picture for an extra chance.  She made her daughter this quilt using Lucky Stars, which is one of my favorite Atkinson Designs patterns.

Very nice work, Rebecca!  And I browsed through your blog a bit- all of your projects are adorable.  You are a very talented lady!

I'll post a new giveaway for May as soon as I get a picture---
Have a GREAT day, everybody!

Lavender Winner!

The winner is Corina, from Manitoba, Canada.  Corina's blog is CW Quilts... Sometimes.  I can't ship the fresh bundles to Canada, but Corina said in her post that if she won, she would have me send it to her friend in the U.S.  Well, Corina, you are going to be a very popular friend!  Send me an email with her name and address and I'll have it on its way to her.

I can't believe it's been a month since I posted!  I've been absolutely swamped with harvesting, shipping, selling and processing our lavender.  The harvest will be totally done in a few days and I'll be blogging regularly again.  I've taken a lot of pictures of different things lately- lots to show you and share.

Congrats, Corina (and Corina's friend)!

The Winner is.......

Talk about luck!  The random number generator picked number one as the winner of the June giveaway!  And lucky #1 is the Osage Bluff Quilter, who has been a follower of this blog for a long time.  Send me a private email with your address and I'll send the mouse pad on it's way!

Thanks to all who send photos of Feathered Fan quilts.  It's a quilt I'd really like to make one of these days.  There's no way it will happen in the next few months, though!

I'll post a July giveaway sometime this weekend.  Maybe I'll even get off my duff and do a few blog posts, too. :-)

The Winner is Jackie!

The winner of the First Choice Boxers giveaway is JACKIE!  Jackie lives in Florida and her blog is called Jackie's Stitches.  Jackie does all kinds of "stitching".  She knits and quilts..... and now she's going to be sewing boxer shorts for some lucky guy in her life.

I'm a little behind on my blogging (understatement) and I have a new May Giveaway to post later this week.  Stay tuned!

Congrats, Jackie!

Weekend Wonders Giveaway Winner- Congrats to Linda!

The winner of the Weekend Wonders book is lucky number 38.... Linda!  And that's no April fool joke, Linda!  Linda's blog, Stray Stitches, has been on my reading list for quite some time.  Her blog is a good read with lots of good information.  Did you know that today is National Tatting Day?  Who knew?

I've always wanted to learn how to tat.  My grandmother made many beautiful pieces- many of which I now own.  The problem is- I don't know what to do with them.  I never learned because I never had the desire to have the finished product.  My grandmother used to make edging for pillow cases and sometimes bookmarks... but I digress.

Back to the reason for this post- CONGRATS to Linda!  And thanks to all who entered.  And a great big "Welcome" to all of the new followers this month.  It's great to have you reading along!

I'm going on another quilt retreat this weekend (lucky me!).  I'll be posting pictures when I get back.  And I'll put up a new giveaway for April next week.  Have a fantastic weekend, everyone!

The February Giveaway Winner is Melissa!

Melissa whose blog is called Ardea's Nest.  is the winner this month.  Congrats, Melissa!  It's great to have you as a follower of my blog.

Judging from her blog, it looks like Melissa is never at a loss for projects.  But now she has one more.  I think there might soon be a new little daisy quilt on her project list.  The pattern and daisy fabric will be on their way to you in a jiffy, Melissa!  Be sure to check out Melissa's blog. There's a lot of great stuff on there- I signed up to follow, too!

Thanks to all who entered the giveaway.  I'll have a new giveaway posted for March soon.

By the way- I just have a few yards of the daisy fabric left, and a few patterns.  I matched up the daisies needed with the patterns and put them on my "Last Chance" (sale) category on the website.

We had a late winter snow storm over the past few days here in the pacific northwest.  I surely will be happy when we see real daisies growing.

Lucky Number 1342!!!

It's gonna be a very happy Monday for Teresa!  Teresa is the very, very lucky winner of the AccuQuilt GO! Giveaway!

I plugged the number 1408 (the number of entries) into the random number generator and it gave me number 1342. (If you're interested, you can find this tool at www.random.org)

Comment number 1342 belongs to Teresa, from Homer Glen, Il.  She also has a blog and it's called, It's All Good, which is appropriately named because I'm sure that's how she'll be feeling when she reads this!  She has some cute projects on her blog- you should check it out!  I look forward to chatting with Teresa and getting to know her.  Woo Hoo!  Another new friend!  One time, when my son was a little boy, he said, "Mommy- do you know everybody?"  I said, "Not yet, Honey, but I'm working on it!"

The fine folks at AccuQuilt (and I really do mean that- they've been wonderful to work with) only asked me to do a tutorial to participate in their program.  I'm pretty sure I've done that, but I have no intention of stopping here.  I will be finishing the Double Wedding Ring quilt and showing you my experience with the GO! along the way.  I will also be doing the Winding Ways, and Dresden Plate quilts with the GO! and I'll blog about them.  The tutorials I do with the GO! projects will be of interest to you regardless of whether or not you own one of these wonderful machines, because once the shapes are cut, you still have to do some sewing! :-)  The GO! just makes the cutting go lightening fast so you can get to the sewing part sooner.  I'm sure Teresa will be doing some projects, too, and I'll be following along and will be sure to show her creations as well.  (No pressure, Teresa.... HA!)

Thank you to all who have entered.  I especially appreciate all of the new followers to this blog.  I realize that many of you signed up to follow in order to get another entry in the contest, but I hope you find this blog interesting and that you'll stop by once in a while. I do a giveaway just about every month- not as good as this one, but still fun!

CONGRATULATIONS, TERESA!!!!!!

Sandie is the lucky winner!

Holy Cow!  346 comments to the giveaway post!  I used to try to reply to everyone who entered my giveaways, but I've given up on that.  And for the next giveaway, I'm sure it will be impossible.  So--- to everyone who entered- thank you for taking the time to comment and I appreciate all of your kind words.  Some of you even wanted my dog--- nice try.

Putting the number 346 into a random number generator, I came up with lucky number 59, who is "Call Me Crazy", AKA Sandie of crazyboutquilts

I took a peek at your blog, Sandie.  Funny- you have the same blog template as I do.  I also have 5 friends named Sandy/ Sandi/ Sandie.  Any way you spell it, I seem to know lots of neat people with that name.  Now I know one more!

I'll send you and email (unless you read this and get to me first).  You can look over my website- yardage, FQ packs- whatever.  I'll cut you 4 FQ's of your choosing- anything on the website.

The August Giveaway Winner is Lindsey!

Happy September, everybody!  And an extra special happy September to Lindsey, 'cause she is the proud owner of a cute little quilt magnet set!

The random number generator read 78, so I counted down the comments on the giveaway post..... to the 78th comment..... and number 78 is "Hey, I'm Lindsey"!

I took a  peek at your blog(s), Lindsey.  My DH wants that car!!!!!!  Yea, right.... and I want a new kitchen!  :-)  Lindsey said on her blog that her friend got her started entering giveaways.  Well, Lindsey, call your friend and say, "Ha, ha!!!".

Send me a private message with your address and I'll give the magnets to the mail lady and tell her to point them in your direction!

I'll post a new giveaway this week.....

Congrats, Lindsey, and Happy Fall, Y'All!

The winner is....... drumroll please........

The winner of the autographed copy of The Quilt Life magazine is Gale, Ky Quilter.  Gale is a fan of Alex and Ricky and I'm sure she will give the magazine a good home.

This was a REALLY popular giveaway!  Lots of people entered.  I WISH, I WISH, I WISH I had a hundred copies to give you all!  When I first started doing monthly giveaways, I had only a handfull of entries and I wrote the names on pieces of paper and picked them out of a bowl.  I now have to use a random number generator because there are so many.

I'm also having trouble getting to sending you all a reply.  I honestly try to send everyone a personal reply to comments but I have gotten so terribly far behind, I'm going to just start from current time and try to do better this month.  If you commented on a post in June and I didn't reply- I DID read it and I thank you very much for taking the time to comment.

Why am I so busy?  Lavender, of course!  I'll be posting about it and I'll give you information on purchasing a bundle if you're interested.  And..... gee..... I think we should do a lavender giveaway in July.... don't you?  No, no.... don't reply to this post to enter.  Wait for the next post about the lavender.

Congrats, Gale!  I'll send you an email.  You lucky, lucky, lucky girl!!!!!

May Giveaway Winner

The winner of the Mary Englebreit chair pincushion is Debra from  Missouri.  Her blog is Deb's Place.  She's a brand new blogger with just a few followers.  Check out her beautiful quilts and sign up to follow if you like them- let's get her going on her blogging!

I'm sorry I didn't get the winner drawn yesterday- it was a crazy day for me!  Does anyone else wish there were just a few more hours in the day???  I'm super behind on blogging.  I have some great things to share with you.

I have to get some orders out and return a few calls.  Later today I'll post the June Giveaway.  You are NOT going to believe this one..... I'll give you a little hint..... it was given to me by Alex Anderson and Ricky Tims at Quilt Market just for you!

Happy June, Everyone!  And CONGRATS to Deb!

January Giveaway Winner- Congrats Gene!

WOW!  I am absolutely overwhelmed!  I wrote when I posted this giveaway that I was celebrating the fact that I had 100 followers.  In the month since then, I picked up an additional 78 followers (last time I looked).  SO... this is to celebrate the fact that all 178 of you (and probably a few more) stop by once in a while to check out what I'm rambling on about.  I'm honored.

For giveaways, I used to just pick a name out of a hat, or ask my husband to "pick a number", but things got a little complicated this month!  I made the leap to a random number generator, and the lucky number belongs to Gene Black from Alabama.  Gene's blog is delightful- his love of art is evident.

I also want to apologize- I try hard to reply to each of you who post- even if it's just asking to be entered in a giveaway.  I love emailing fellow bloggers and I appreciate when you take the time to comment.  But this month, things got WAY out of control!  I have been very busy, and I had such a huge response to the giveaway that I just have to tell you that you're all great- I entered all who asked to be entered- and I hope you keep reading.  I have to just say farewell to last month and start answering new posts from this point on.  Whew!  That'll teach ME to post a great giveaway and turn my back for 2 days!

Still on the subject of replies, if you're a "no reply" blog poster- I can't reply.  If you use a work email or just want to keep your in-box clean- I certainly understand.  Do consider a separate email address (like g-mail, yahoo,) or one of the other free email addresses you can get.  Then, whenever you sign up for newsletters, or freebies or post on blogs- you can use that "junk mail" address and just check it when you feel like it.

So- congrats, again, Gene- you'll be getting an email from me and I'll soon have your goodies on their way to Alabama!

Be looking for the February Giveaway sometime this week.
