Halloween creatures on stage

Establishments in Davao are having a costume party. Some attendants in a mall or in a store are dressed like Zombies, some were scary but there were also funny. NCCC mall stall attendants are in monster costume. A lot of them were dressed in black and had their face maked-up. I went in their hardware section to buy a telephone connector and suddenly an attendant came to assist me and I was really scared because when I turned my back to ask him, he was in full black costume, like a zombie with a blood stain covering his face. I think that man would win the costume competition because the presentation is so scary and fantastic.

Some Halloween Monsters are dancing . They are everywhere, but Its also fun to see them mingle with the living.

Bloggers summit in Davao

Its a bloggers day. All Mindanao blogger were gathered in one. Its venue is in the NCCC mall top floor. This is my first time to attend a blogger summit for I am a new blogger. I attended the event halfway already for I didn't know the exact time to start. I saw famous bloggers like Yugatech, Macalua, and Fernandez and the other organizers and of course my friend in mountaineering club during my college days Mr. Bloggie Robillo, who was also a classmate of my brother Roland Noel during their high school days in Ateneo de Davao high school Department. As a new Blogger, I heard already that there is money in blogging but a lot of my friends don't know how to create, monetize a blog. So what I did is I have to ask professional bloggers to prove that making a blog is fun and earning a lot. The event gave me so much ideas on how to monetize my blog and my questions in mind were answered by that event ...

More Koreans are coming to Davao City

Davao City is known to be the "friendly city". Developments are anywhere, infrastructure, hotels, Real estate, and the agricultural industry. Subdivisions are like mushrooms, they sprouted from lowlands to highlands. Davao City attracts foreign investors to make business here. There are also a lot of prestigious schools like Ateneo de Davao University (AdDU), University of Immaculate Conception (UIC), and the University of Mindanao (UM). Universities in Davao are offering cheaper tuition fees compared to other Asian neighboring countries like Korea. Korean students were attracted to finished their studies in Davao, particularly English subject because they like Davaoeno's way of teachings, That is why you can see Koreans anywhere in Davao. You can easily identify them the way they dress, by their hair styles and complexion, and they go to the mall by groups for they are still familiarizing the place and the streets.

PTA GROUNDS GRAND OPENING

Yesterday, The group of Mindanao Federation (Minfed) of Davao was conducting a meeting. The agenda of the meeting is all about the PTA grounds exhibit. Davao City Government headed by councilor Wendell Avisado is offering a space particularly 18 slots with a 3x3 meters in dimension for the Mindanao Federation group to contribute for the beautification of the new PTA grounds. Minfed officers decided to divide the slots into 3 groups since floricultural industry is compose of three groups ,The Mindanao federation (Minfed) where I belong, Orchid Society of Davao (OSD) and the (Fidi) Floriculture Industry of Davao Incorporated. The groups were instructed to make a three unique landscaping showcase .

Mindanao Federation (our group) had come up to a decision to have a one theme in our landscaping showcase. The group decided to appoint Noel Lazaro, a professional landscaper, who is also a member to make a draft in the plan. All of us will contribute to make the plan possible. PTA grounds of Davao City Will be open to the public this coming December 6,2007.

TOURISM IN DAVAO

Even though there's an increase in popularity of the Davao Death Squad (DDS) in the entire Philippines, that reaches to other countries, Davao City economy still at its nice status.
The tourism industry easily fluctuates its ratings whenever, there are issues of summary killings and bomb threats. City tourism office proves that there is a rapid increase of tourist visitors both coming from local and foreign inspite of it's negative reports.

Sonia Garcia, Department of Tourism (DOT) director, confirms that even though "DDS" or the liquidation squad is so popular in the entire world, still local and foreign visitors are keep on coming.

City Mayor, Rodrigo Roa Duterte of Davao is not bothered about the issues of the so called "DDS". He even tackled in his weekly Abs-Cbn programme on television "Gikan sa Masa Para sa Masa", that not a single person could testify and confirm that the Davao Death Squad is present.

Duterte added that the report of Chris Rogers of CNN, is a big mistake. Duterte said during those previous years, the police, military and the local government officials didn't know also even a single member of the said group. Commission on human rights (CHR) conducted an investigation, but up to now they can't prove and identify due to lack of evidence.

Duterte agrees that there are killings that happened in Davao City, but it should not be link to the liquidation group because, it is an isolated case and most of this are personal.

The chief of PRO XI, Andres Caro was interviewed on television. He said, issues regarding DDS was very much inflated. Statistics provided by the militant group, stating that there were 292 killed by the said liquidation group is not true and it is a mere allegation

October Fest

October fest originated in Germany, every year it has been their tradition to celebrate this event by drinking beer not in noggin but consume as much as they can till they drop. The feast commences in the last Friday of September and so on........

Here in the Philippines, we have adapted their custom and somewhat replicated the fun and enjoynment that the feast brought about. During this month, Filipinos consume more alcohol than what their body needs. Thus, for beer lovers and alcoholics, it has become a month of bounty. more so, a lot of companies would want to sponsor the drinking event and not to mention the live bands and gigs that would end in the wee hours of the following day.
