Our Family

Our Family
This is a blog about our family. My journal of our adventures. We're just trying to do our best raising 2 crazy kids (or maybe we're the crazy ones). Eight years of marriage under our belts, and still lots of new adventures and surprises on this road called life.

In loving memory of my mom- Kathleen Nelson Higgins May 11, 1954-December 29, 2008. She is my warrior and I wear pink in honor of her.

February

February has been a fun month- thankfully to pass the winter blues.
A couple of weeks ago we went to Idaho to visit Grandma & Grandpa Moon.
Aunt Deborah and Olivia rode with us, so that was an unusual and fun adventure.
We spend some time at Blast Off! and everyone loved it. Wild Man Max went wild for the ball pit.

Grace suiting up for her first climb with Daddy.
Cousin Olivia's first time in the ball pit.
She did great, even amidst Max's craziness in there with her.

*Valentine's Cookies*
The week before Valentine's Day we made a 1 year tradition only of going to Ami's house in Provo to make cookies!
Ami is moving to Denver soon- hence the 1 year tradition.
Ami makes heart cookies for everyone in her family every year and puts their names on them.
Awesome.
I remember Ami's mom doing the same thing for my first grade class and getting a cookie with my name on it and feeling like $1 million bucks.
The tradition carries on.

Precision.
That is Ami making the best butter cream frosting with Lucy strapped to her front.
Ami can certainly make a mean sugar cookie.
She is all the more talented doing it with a new baby in the mix.

Max and Simon testing the goods.
Happy Late Valentine's Day.
For Valentine's Day this year we had a fun dinner at home with the kids.
Grace decorated the table, we lit candles, and had heart shaped waffles with plenty of whipped cream and strawberries.
Holidays with these two are getting so fun and worth all the effort.
We may have made and eaten lots of Valentine's treats this year but the best part was Grace and Max by my side enjoying it as much as I do!

  2. Those cookies were delish! I can't believe that was homemade frosting, you need to get that recipe. I'n not going to lie when I say that the names on each cookie made you feel special, and the little Madi cookie was my fav!
