5 Little Pumpkins

Ready for Fall?

Got the sewing bug lately with all the fun fabrics for Halloween/Fall
I decided to make some goodies for the grand kids
"Trick or Treat Bags"

I just loved this 5 little pumpkins fabric
(Have you read the story?)

So when I was gonna make one for a little boy
Hubby says you can't use the same fabric!
LOL so another trip to the fabric store

Here's the second one, I cut out some pumpkins
from the other fabric and attached them
before finishing the bag

Well with all that fabric left over I made a table runner
for my DIL and you can see the backing, she'll be
able to flip it over for Fall decor

I drew my pattern out for the pumpkin
and outlined it on the 5 little pumpkins fabric

Enjoy your day!

Sewing & Quilting

Sew Happy!

Well I got my old sewing machine out before christmas
and started my venture in sewing again.....it's been a long time!

Procuring plenty of soft & comfy material to make two
crib quilts, I'm finding I need a bigger workspace to put these
quilts together especially if I continue quilting

Blanket on Christmas Morning

It passed the snuggle test!

CAGI ~ Make It Girly

Good Day!

Wowzer we had some powerful winds on the Kenai Peninsula this past week, over 3,000 folks without electricity, lots of trees downed along with that goes the power lines.....even on our road it was down to one lane with a tree over it when I went to work Friday morning.  No need to pay for sand blasting we were getting it all day with the winds!

Have you stopped by the Challenge at Come And Get It lately??  We have a new challenge up and the theme is "MAKE IT GIRLY" with Cindy as our hostess.  We are being sponsored by Limited Runs and Lacy Sunshine......you should check out the awesome cards the DT gals have come up with so come on over and join us!

OSAAT Challenge #198

Good Morning!

Alaska is back to some colder temperatures again with nights in the teens,  we have the wood stove a blazing....and are forecast to be partly cloudy weather with no chance of precipitation in sight for awhile anyway.   They had to cancel one of our qualifing races for the Iditarod here in Kasilof called the Tustumena 200 because of lack of snow!

It's Challenge time at One Stitch At A Time and it's everyone's favorite ... "Any Thing Goes"
Hazel's turn this round to picked out our image and she picked the cute Shih Tzu image from Beary Dust Stamps at the Stitchy Bear Digi Outlet for us to use this round

I had some fun pet designer papers to help build my card tho, after really looking at my card I thought something was missing and I realized it was the puppy dogs ball......it had no color!
So to fix that I colored it in for the next shot of my card

Thinking of you

Hello There!

I got in a new set of Tim Holtz stamps and had to play!  I've seen the set before and just decided to treat myself and here's my first card with it......I love the dragonfly

Maybe one of the reason I like dragonflies so much is because I live on a lake and we have lots of them around flitting in and out, did you know that they are among the fastest flying insects in the world!
But most of all they eat them blood sucking Mosquitos!
In Japan the dragonfly is associated with summer and early autumn.  More generally, dragonflies are symbols of courage, strength, and happiness, and they often appear in art and literature.

Happy Birthday America

Happy 4th of July

No card today just a quick posting to wish you all a safe Holiday

Why Do We Celebrate the Fourth of July?

The fourth of July is the birthday of our nation. Today, we celebrate and enjoy the freedom that comes with the event that made this day so special.

Thomas Jefferson, is the author of the Declaration of Independence. He led a committee that crafted the declaration between June 11-28, 1776.  Jefferson and other discontented representatives from the thirteen colonies, voted and approved it on July 4, 1776. The document declared freedom for the 13 colonies from British rule. It currently resides in the Exhibition Hall of the National Archive in Washington, D.C.

Did you know? The Declaration of Independence was not signed by all representatives until August 2, 1776. To make it official, John Hancock, President of the Continental Congress signed it. Now, can anyone guess where the saying "put your John Hancock on it" came from!?!

Today, we enjoy the benefits of the freedom which the farmers signed and ultimately fought for. For us, it is a time for baseball, hot dogs and family picnics. Summer is in full swing and life is good.

July 4th is not complete without the parades and fireworks......tho Alaska we do go to a grand display we can't have them for personal use as it's illegal.
