Cabin Fever

We had a little unseasonably warm weather last week, but there's nothing like the month of March to remind you that the title Spring Equinox has no impact on the actual weather where I live. It was disappointing to see a dusting of snow this morning and the prediction of single digit low temperatures on my weekend off from work. I did not get much snowshoeing in this winter, as most of the snow hit farther south. Needless to say, I'm starting to feel cooped up and I can't wait to get outside for some hiking!

The local bike path is clear of snow and Sister and I took our bikes out after I got out of work last weekend, thanks to the Daylight Savings time change. The canal seemed unusually low for this time of year and the waterfalls at the Five Combines were a little weak, but it did feel great to get on the bike again.

I hope to get at least five high peaks between late spring and mid-autumn, and we're looking at the possibility of at least a ladies only camping trip. I intend to ride my bike locally whenever possible - thank you Google Maps for the bike route options now!

I leave you now with a new listing, Earth. It's a nice spring through fall piece, perhaps something for Earth Day, or to wear when you are at work, when you'd rather be outside. As the toggle clasp says, "Peace begins with a Smile."

Newest Listings

I'm still playing catch up with my shop. I had that Colors of Fall craft show at the end of September, so I was waiting until that was over to take all the pictures and list all the items that I banged out for that. No sense in taking pictures and listing them in case some of it sold. At the craft fair I sold several new pieces, but was left with many to list, oh what a process!

Here's some of my most recent listings... mostly glass tile pendants, but I have some of that wire crochet that people love and a sterling silver wire wrapped howlite necklace, and another bottle cap pendant. I listed a beaded zodiac necklace, called What's Your Sign, that sold within a couple hours of listing too! You can click on each picture for details, and remember, all glass tile pendants come with a complimentary ball chain necklace.

Irish Inspired

St. Patrick's Day is one of my favorite holidays. It's a fun day without the stress that comes along with some other holidays. My mom made it fun, feeding me green food such as green eggs and ham, green milk and pistachio pudding in a graham cracker crust. As an adult I still still crave that pistachio pudding pie, and my husband and I try to have a night out for some beer and Irish pub food. I have a mix of several nationalities in my family tree, but I definitely love celebrating the Irish that I get from my mom's family. Hopefully this time next year I will be planning a trip to Ireland for my husband and I!

Here it is, almost March, and I have some green jewelry to share with you. So whether you are looking for something to accent your St. Patrick's Day green attire, or just something green for an early jump on spring, here are some items you might like! Fun Winter Jewelry

I know what you're thinking... Halloween's barely over and all the Christmas stuff comes out... My thinking is that with Thanksgiving seemingly so late this year (less than one month 'til Christmas after Thanksgiving Day) that it will sneak up on all of us!

I'm not posting too much holiday jewelry yet because of my upcoming jewelry party - I just plan on posting whats left. But this piece is too cute not to share. The Snowman Polymer Clay Necklace was made using a recycled Christmas ornament, and some handmade multi-Christmas colored polymer clay beads. I made these beads last month and finally found something that they go great with!
