A Handfull of Art

Hello People, It's almost the end of March 2014 and here I'm writing my first post of this year. I realized that my last post on the blog was in September last year. Gosh, 3 months have already gone by and I have not been sleeping all this while. Yes, not sleeping due some more special reasons, My little bundle of joy who's almost 4.5 month old is behind all my sleeplessness. Motherhood is one of the most lovely and craziest thing!! I have been crooning to get back to crafting (it's a relaxing therapy) when my little baby girl is asleep, and now that I have time, Crafting sure does wonders to the otherwise chaotic life :) Okay, enough of my bantar :) I'll be sharing a Baby Themed Explosion box I did on commission. It's quite difficult for me to decide naming it an Explosion Box or a Explosion Scrapbook for it has loads of places for pictures 24 precisely and all the more spaces for jotting down little and lovely things about the baby growing up. Hello crafty people, Wow.. Valentines.. smtimes gives jitters ... it's a lovely feeling.. although I really do not believe in the concept of celebrating love especially more on one day.. coz for me.. love is life.. and that when you celebrate and live life each day.. we also live love each day... I made a new 'Love is' box for one of my friends, to be presented to his wife this Valentines Day... I'm soo much in love and awe with the love is box, maybe because it gives me a chance to try my hand at drawing once again for I love love love making the 'Love is' comic strip... Here's what I made... Here are the roses that sit quite nicely on the top of the lid.. I loved the way the purple flower came out to be... had it distressed with some fired brick distress ink and it looks wonderful.... and this was my first attempt at making a rose... :) Here's how the box looks like.... complete in purple and pink.. Hi Crafty People.. I'm certainly hooked on to making Explosion Boxes.. they are sooper dooper fun to make and there is such a lot of craziness in making them, a part of this craziness comes from the fact that, it's fun to watch the recipients reactions (of course, if you personally give it to them).. they are always amazing :) This time around, I experimented by Making a carousel explosion box since I wanted to make one of each shape and size. Here is what I made !!! A Carousel Shaped Explosion Box with a Love is.. Card.. Isnt it cute.. I even have a Love is.. flag at the top :) Here's what the box looks like when opened. Also seen here is the Card.. it's a simple card .. yet is very elegant to look at :) A complete view of the explosion box. Hi Friendz.... Another year coming to an end and excited for the new year.. This year has been one of the bestest in my life for I finally settled down with someone whom I love .. and is my soulmate :) This year also brought back  my tempting habit of keeping off waste and junk material to make something useful out of it. I had ample time and I started crafting again, it all started with one quilled post by my friend and I was excited to see how was it done when I brought a quilling tool from the market and tried on normal paper first to see what was it all about.. and got hooked in the way... Within no time, I was back to blogging and met lots of fellow crafter's whom I admire and get inspiration from .. I love trying out different things, and somehow during the process I found and explosion box.. I loved it to the core and made one for my SIL for her birthday.. it was widely appreciated... I now have made another for my nephew.. a belated gift though.. but still ...

Hellos People, It's been long that I posted anything, was busy making an explosion box, and it exploded out lots of good wishes and love and blessing for my elder Sis-in-law, for I had made it on her birthday. She love and appreciate art in all forms and hence I decided to gift her an explosion of happiness on her birthday :) tada.... below is the explosion box I made. This is my first explosion box and to be speaking very frankly... I'm in love with them, they are soo soo exciting and fun to make and and... :) you love the look of awesomeness and happiness on someone's face when they first open it up.. :) This is the lid of the box, I though of going with contrasting colors as they bring out a different spark to the creations :) Decorated the lid with some spiral roses and then added some sparkle to them... they got to be shining .. right :) Added some leftovers, like a silver ribbon which was a part of a wedding card once ... recycling and re-using .. it's alway...
