My Birthday Present from Magnolia Market
Usually, birthdays are amazing, exciting moments for me. Last month my boys made me beautiful cards and put them on my pillow so that I would see them when I woke up. My parents and in-laws sent my mad money to buy something special. My hubby asked and asked and asked what I wanted for my birthday dinner.
However; this year I had no clue. In fact, I really wasn't hungry.
I'm not sure what it was, but this year, I really wasn't into the whole birthday celebration.

Maybe it is because I am trying to become more minimalist and not have things just for the sake of having things.
Maybe it is because we are doing a full on kitchen renovation {more on that later} and I have been too excited about those decisions to think about birthday cake.
Or maybe, it's because I am now 39.
You think I am nuts.
Coo- Coo.
Crazy as a loon.
You are thinking....39 is so young. What are you complaining about? You have your health, an amazing career, an awesome family. Just be quiet and sit down.
I hear you.
I really do.
It's just that I have loved my thirties so much. I do not want them to end.

today is a good day for a good day.
And then maybe....just maybe...I'll enjoy this last year of my thirties so much that 40 will rock!

P.S. My hubby is a genius. I was wondering how we would keep the rope from fraying after cutting it and tying it in a knot. This is what he came up with....
I felt that way about my birthday this year, too. I turned 45 this summer. I wasn't sad about my birthday, I just couldn't think of anything I wanted. I think I'm getting to the point where I have all I need. I am with you on clearing things out- clutter just weighs you down!
