Easy Foil Nail Art Using Ciate Very Colorfoil Manicure Kit

Image
Are you fond of doing nail arts?  I once was, but I don't think I have the talent for it unlike some people I know. But from time to time, I still try to do it and if ever I fail, I just charge it to experience. ^_^ Weeks ago, I was sent a sample of a manicure kit from Ciate.  I've been seeing Ciate in Sephora but never really gotten myself into checking it out. I know that they are famous with the caviar manicure, which I honestly find cute but unless you don't do house chores and a whole lot of other stuff, then I find it impractical.  But of course our nails do deserve some special treat from time to time (and so are we, yes!?) So don't be surprised if one day you'd see me with a caviar manicure. (wink wink) Anyway, what I got is this Colourfoil Manicure Kit in Kaleidoscope Klash which is a part of Ciate's Top Manicure picks.  Very Colourfoil Manicure in Kaleidoscope Klash  (AED 145) This is a limited edition and is inspi...

How To Cook Pork Binagoongan (with Eggplant)

Image
Happy Sunday, my loves!   Linggo na at hindi pa din ako nakakaligo, har har har.  TMI, I know. Don't worry, I sponge bath twice a day and I don't have BO to begin with, so keribels ! Hehehe! Pero honestly, I miss taking a bath, the normal way!  But as per my doctor, dehins pa pede. I'll be seeing him on Thursday for my checkup and hopefully, he'll give me a go-signal after.   Kaya I really wish that my wound heals fast. For that, I drink a lot of pineapple juice and I don't move as much. I also didn't insist on getting those waterproof plasters that I can wrap my wound with just to be able to take a bath since he said there are some cases na nagkakamoist yung wound.  I try (hard) to be as obedient as possible.   Tiis-tiis na muna.  And since it's still a weekend in this part of the world (oh yes, I am still in Pinas!) I'll be posting a recipe of one of my favorite dishes. Well, it became a favorite just recently.  It all started wh...

How to Cook: Beef Caldereta

Image
It's almost midnight and here I am thinking about food. Usually, I'd be dreaming about burger and fries from Mcdo, but tonight I'm actually craving for something home-cooked.  I realized it's been weeks, or maybe months, since the last time I cooked. Nakakamiss din pala magluto.  When you cook, you get to eat what you want and make it taste like how you want it.  One ulam I definitely miss cooking is Beef Caldereta.  I know it's not in any way as good as my Lolo's and my Tita's recipes but for me (and hopefully for Mr. X), it's good.  Hayaan 'nyo na akong magbuhat ng sariling bangko. Hehehe!  There are a lot of Beef Caldereta recipes available but let me just share with you how I cook mine.   Ingredients: Garlic Onions Beef, cut into serving portions. I really don't know much about beef cuts but I usually get the part where there's a bit of fat. Potatoes Carrots Bell Pepper Liver Spread Tomato Sauce Let'...

Tutorial: How I do my brows...

Image
For the longest time, I've been getting a lot of requests for me to do a tutorial on how I do my brows.  Honestly, I didn't expect that people would like my eyebrows.  I personally think I look "mataray" with my brows, but I prefer it than my "normal" brows. ^_^ I remember having my brows plucked for the first time right before I entered college.  I think I got too excited after, that I can hardly keep my hands and my tweezers off my brows.  So yeah, I ended up with almost non-existent eyebrows for a while..more or less for my entire college years! (laughs) When I graduated, got a job and finally able to afford my "kaartehan" a little, my first makeup purchase was brow pencils.  I started "drawing" my brows and I've been doing it since then.  If you've been reading my blog since I've started, you'd know that my eyebrows didn't look the way they look now.   My brows have really evolved, take a look: ...

Easy eye makeup (photo) tutorial...

Image
Here's an easy eye makeup that I usually do when I'm in a hurry.  In this tutorial, I use only one lid color and another to blend out the harsh lines. Start with a clean eye area: Apply primer on the entire lid area (UDPP): Using your ring finger, sweep Bobbi Brown Longwear Cream Shadow in Beach Bronze on the lid: Blend the cream shadow using upward strokes Apply MAC e/s in Bamboo using a fluffy brush in wiping motion (crease area): Line the upper lashlines (K-Palette eyeliner in Black): Lighten the color of the brows using Majolica Majorca Brow and Lash Colorist: Curl lashes: Apply two coats of mascara (Shu Uemura Ultimate Natural Mascara): To lighten the undereye area, apply Revlon Colorstay Brightener + Primer and blend in dabbing motion: Set using powder (NYX Flat But Not Matte in Nude):  Lash the lower water lines using Kryolan in 901: ...

NOTD: Dripping paint...

Image
The first time I saw samples of this nail art design, I've wanted to make one for myself.  But honestly, I had no idea how to do it.  I first thought I just need to leave a huge blob of polish and let it drip by itself.  But I didn't know it's a lot easier than I thought. Here's how: First, I applied by base coat.  I find this a very important step, as it really helps prevent my nails from turning yellowish.   Next, I applied 2 coats of the pink polish (Max Factor Glossfinity).  Let it dry.  Then I apply a thicker coat on the tips of my nails (Max Factor mini nails in purplish blue), no need to make sure you apply it evenly.  Now for the dripping effect, drag the polish from the tip going to the base using a dotting tool.  Again, let it dry and then apply top coat. I swear, this is easy.  So far, this is the easiest among all the nail art designs I've tried. I hope you like it! Please like me on Fa...

(a sort of) Tutorial: How I do my eyebrows...

Image
A lot of you have been asking me how I draw my eyebrows...actually, I'm not sure why. Probably you love it, or you find it unappealing and just want to make sure you know how I do it so you won't do the same thing...LOL! Whatever the reason you have, I will tell you anyways! I initially wanted to do a video tutorial, but I don't have much time in the morning. So please bear with me if I could only provide you with pictures for now. I'll try to come up with a video soon...if you'll tell me you're still interested. =) here's my almost non-existent brows: using a pencil eyebrow liner, in this case, my favorite retractable eyebrow liner from Tonymoly, i draw an outline of my brows: you might have seen a lot of "how to do your brows" diagrams before, and I also use that as my reference...well, almost!? ^_^ okay, okay...I might have been breaking a lot of rules here, but based on experience, it really depends on whether...
