Ice found on Mars
Ice was detected by gamma ray sensor aboard NASA spacecraft, The Oddssey. Gamma rays can penetrate soil to about a metre. Huge quantities of water are hidden below the surface of the Mars, the Oddssey spacecraft suggests. The discovery does not alter the Mars status as a barren planet because the water have been locked up in the subterranian ice for millions of years, mainly around the planet poles. This high volume of ice indicates that life once existed on the planet.
