How I Learn Morse Code and my morse key
First, I practice listening to every alphabet base on Koch's Method using a CW program "Just Learn Morse Code" It's took me about a year to map all the characters in my memory. Then the sending ability I covered it within 1 week.
How is my way?...
Well 2 times a day and 1-3 hour a session only for listening and gradually reduced to 10mins a session.
After I able to copy by reflex in random order, I proceed to decode texts from news pasted from news websites. I run them using CW program "Just Learn Morse Code". Ya I read headline news by using this method everyday......phew.....
On the 25 September 2007 I sat for the CW exam conducted by MCMC(Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission).
After long wait...the results was published in MCMC's website on the 4 Nov 2007. YESSSSS......I PASS..........Then few weeks later the official notice arrived...haha...
Finally My target reached when I was granted a Class A Amateur Station Apparatus Assignment(ASAA) which carried callsign 9M6WST on the 3 Dec 2007.
All this happen because of self learning, attended BARC's CW class via 2m repeater 9M6RBK which was conducted by OM 9M6ST(Saliang). Thank you Saliang. And also I wish to thank OM 9M6BZ(Zainal Amstrong) and 9M6YBG(Go) for their encouragement. All this need determination.
Finally......I DONE IT!!!!.......
One of the morse key I have is the CT Iambic Paddle Morse Key for usual CW QSO. The speed that I usually use is at about 25 word per minute.
