AMW Gift Ideas: For the Fruit Lovers

Hey AMW Friends! 

Just a couple of days before Christmas!  Are you panic-shopping?  I know I am! 

That's why I'm inserting some Christmas Gift Ideas every now and then because I know how hard it is to think of simple yet meaningful gifts!

Gift-giving doesn't have to be complicated, you only need to understand the "wants and likes" of the recipient and the shopping will come easier!

Now, for those who don't know, my blood may be 90% COFFEE but I'm actually a tea drinker!  So receiving a "tea bag" set for the holidays made my heart jump for joy!  Especially if it was nicely packaged like this one from Basilur and best of all?  They have fruit flavored tea!  Who loves Black Tea with Fruits?  (ME!)

Basilur carries the Lion Logo - Symbol of quality teas produced and packed in Sri Lanka.  The name "Ceylon Tea' and the famous lion logo that goes with it indicates that the tea grown, manufactured and packed entirely in Sri Lanka conforming to the strict quality standard laid down and administered by the Sri Lanka Tea Board.

I've Experienced MOMspiration at Discovery Suites and I like it!

A long-time reader would probably know by now how close I am with my mom!  And that closeness actually changed when I turned into a mom myself!  Our relationship is way closer and I really can't thank her enough for all the sacrifices, hardships and adjustments she has done!  I mean, I knew that from the start, but experiencing it first-hand is a different story!  Less than a week after I gave birth, I gave my mom a call and told her: "Ma, I can't believe how hard it was for you, I only have 1 and you had us 4!  THANK YOU and I LOVE YOU!" 

And let me tell you a bit about my mom, she is really down-to-earth, humble and very simple!  She never asks for material things and would feel bad accepting expensive gifts!  So for me, the best gift to a mom like that...is the gift of time.  As much as I would love to be there for her 24/7, with my very busy schedule, I'm sure just giving her the time she deserves, to feel special, to feel appreciated is the best gift in the world!

And recently, I experienced one BEST GIFT idea for moms out there!

MOMspiration at Discovery Suites.  No joke, I am not paid to write this post, I was just invited to "experience" how it is to enjoy a fun, relaxed lunch with fellow mommies.  And I want my mom to enjoy the same experience I had.

Last Minute Valentine's Gift Idea c/o Fruits in Bloom

Why I Like "Em Edible!

I grew up in a family of 6 in a usual 80's family setting.  The dad works while my mom is a SAHM (Stay at home mom).  With 4 of us studying in an private school, there's no budget for "extras" in the house.  In Mom and Dad's Anniversary, Dad's Birthday, Mom's Birthday,  Mother's Day, Father's Day and whatever occasion that screams for gift giving, the 4 of us would always pitch in for either ice cream or a cake!  You will never see a bouquet of flowers or just a single flower as a sign of greeting...as my mom would always say...

"Hindi mo naman makakain ang bulaklak!" (You can't eat flowers.)

So I grew up with the notion of giving fruits for my relatives every Christmas season.  But in my heart, I like the gorgeous arrangement of flowers, the unique color combination that gives the recipient a certain "high".  I had that feeling when a suitor hand me one (Promise, I have suitors aside from Keith lol) :P

And guess what, the bright minds came up with an idea of "edible arrangements".
